Loafers Station was packed when we showed up, but somehow we carved out a little section with a view and settled in. The ambiance was great, the beer was good, and the place had that busy energy that makes you feel like you picked the right spot. Our waitress was hilarious. She did a couple of things that were so ridiculous we couldn't help but laugh. I'm not even sure if she was trying to be funny, which honestly made it even funnier. Free entertainment with your meal? I'll take it. The food was solid. I had the steak salad and the steak bites, and both were on point. The hamburger and fries were also a hit. The mac was just okay, but hey, not everything can be the star of the show. The best part was getting to hang out with my daughter, son in law , and grandson. Good food, cold beer, plenty of laughs, and a packed restaurant that still somehow worked for us. For Albany, Loafers Station is definitely one of the places that belongs on the list when you're looking for a good meal and a fun atmosphere. I travel, I taste, I talk. Ambiance - it was open and had a mix of high top tables, low top, and bar seating. When it's busy, it's quite noisy. Not a place you can really carry a long conversation. I did notice there was a loft area that looks like a private party/gathering could be held. Once everyone left after the lunch rush, it was much quieter. Food - Yum! We started with the lemon pepper wings, which were recommended by our wait staff. The worst thing with wings are when they are dry and jerky like. This was not the case at Loafers. The wings were piping hot when they came out. Too hot to eat immediately. Once you got into the meat of the wings, it was moist. The lemon pepper flavor was great. Citrusy and peppery, not too salty. The wings came with baby carrots and celery sticks. I got the Buddha bowl which includes Rice, carrots, purple cabbage, avocado, sesame seeds, micro cilantro, mung bean sprouts, watermelon radish & peanut sauce and added seared ahi. I requested no rice and the waitress said it would be nothing if I don't get the rice, so she suggested getting salad. The bowl was massive. I'm not sure I needed the salad. It was really filling and the tuna was delicious. I felt the peanut sauce was a bit salty so I barely used it. Tuna has a pepper crust, so it was also flavorful. Maybe if they pared it down a bit they could just make what they are really good at.

I've visited a number of Old Spaghetti Factory locations in California before, so I'm well familiar with the lunch menu. The loaf of bread that arrived on our table after we placed our order was piping hot. It was actually so hot, it was difficult to pick up and cut. There's no doubt that this bread is as fresh as it gets. The minestrone soup I opted for with my entree was filled to the brim and packed with a variety of veggies. If you're looking to cut some calories, you'll definitely want to go with the soup over one of their heavily dressed salads. My wife and I actually split their manager's favorite with meat sauce and mizithra cheese. We opted to up-size to a hearty portion for $4.99, which comes with extra sauce and noodles. The spaghetti was well cooked in terms of texture, but could have been drained a bit better. The meat sauce had a bunch of ground beef in it, and the mizithra cheese was salty, nutty, and tangy. If this is your first time visiting an Old Spaghetti Factory location, I highly recommend trying out the mizithra cheese because I have not see this option offered anywhere else. I regret to report that one dish our party ordered was completely dropped. It was difficult to flag down our server to inform them of the issue, so we ended up having to run around the restaurant to find a staff member. We ended up waiting close to 15 more minutes for the last dish to be prepared, at which point all the food that had been delivered earlier had dropped to being room temperature. Overall, it was a mixed meal. Service was somewhat lacking, and food was pretty standard as far as Old Spaghetti Factory locations.
