GETTING HERE: Was traveling and found we were near this restaurant and the reviews were encouraging. Decided to give them a shot! The address is correct on Yelp so rest assured you'll arrive without issue. REVIEW: Came with a group and it was a good dining experience. Glad to have given them a try. The lone server for us was really good, too. Sincere and kind. Managed our group very well. A variety of items (Pot Roast, Burger, Salmon, etc.) and drinks were ordered (alcohol, strawberry lemonade, coke, etc.) and the consensus was positive. I ordered the Fish and Chips and while the cod was flavorful, sadly the fries were served cold. I decided not to send them back for sake of time. Prices weren't too bad. The ambiance was calm, quiet, open, inviting. I would recommend Cascade Grill and will make it a return trip when I'm next in Oregon. Thanks! read more

Went for an early dinner on a Thursday - no waiting waitress was friendly. My Cascade chicken was delicious, it was topped with cheese and mushrooms. The fish and fries was really good too. This restaurant is located between two hotels with nothing within walking distance. I ordered prime rib rare. It was the worst piece of meat that I had ever been served at a restaurant. It had been frozen and then warmed up. The result was an unbelievably dry piece of meat. Rare prime rib should not be dry. The person next to me ordered the fisherman's platter with many types of seafood. it was all bad. This was a sort of last minute decision for us and I have to say I'm not disappointed. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived around 7:00pm and most people were eating. We were seated after about 10 min as they had to clear and push together a couple tables for us. The restaurant is fairly open with tables and booths. It was pleasantly lit and not overly noisy. There is also a bar attached to the restaurant and it was quite busy. We opted to sit in the dining room. Our server, Sonia, was pleasant and efficient. She kept the waters filled and my Dr. Pepper full. The food took a little while. But we were eating by 7:40. Everything was tasty and appropriate temperatures. The prime rib was delicious and exactly right. I did not care for the horseradish sauce as it was more like a horseradish ranch... not horrible but not horseradish. The ladies liked their salads although they both thought the chicken was a little dry. My daughter enjoyed her burger. They all commented that the fries were really good. I was up to my armpits in beef and potatoes so I didn't try the fries. We opted out of dessert but the ones we saw at other tables looked tasty. I would recommend the Cascade Grill as long as you aren't in a hurry and don't mind paying a little more for the sit down experience. My only other request... get some good horseradish on the plate with the prime rib. read more

Points for convenience and location. Right next to the expo center and two hotels, this can be an excellent place to wind down and stay responsible by walking. However, food was a bit disappointing. May have been an off experience. Appetizer Bread - warm and comforting, a solid start to wind down and also get some carbs in to prepare for drinks, if applicable. Beef Soup of the Day - warm, hearty, comforting. I don't care much for beef soups but wanted something warm instead of a salad. It was solid, but I prefer other soups when possible, unfortunate that there's only one available at all times. 12oz Prime Rib - tasty prime rib but there was an excessive amount of fat. A fair amount of the prime rib was cut off because there was a little too much. Garlic potatoes were tasty though, so the overall entree isn't the worst. Chicken Fettuccini - overall, a pretty bland dish. Chicken was dry and not very seasoned. While the mushroom sauce was good, the pasta was bland and unseasoned and it was evident. Grilled garlic bread was fair and picked up excess sauce nicely. read more

I was there last month to celebrate my mom's birthday and we use their Banquet Room-- a special room with doors. It was perfect. They allow us to put little decorations and the service was great. We were twenty people and they were able to take our order and feed us with their delicious food. The room was elegant and classy and spacious. I just ate here, worst experience of my life. I ordered a black and blue burger and I asked for it rare. I told the waitress if I could get it cooked a little more, she became very disrespectful! Telling me it was rare mind you it was raw and cold, telling me to look at something else on the menu; I told her I didn't want anything else, and I wanted it cooked maybe 3min on each side, she responded with so medium rare I said no rare, not a fucking raw burger! I had an early dinner here by myself around 5pm. The staff is very attentive and the food was a perfect temperature. I don't know what they did with the shrimp but it tastes so fresh. This is much better than your typical bar & grille for anyone curious. read more

We were in Albany for medical reasons and our hotel was near the restaurant and we tried it. I had prime rib which was very good accompanied by a baked potato and large salad. My husband had the Black and Blue Burger with fries and he was equally enthusiastic. It appeared that there was a regular crowd who dined on Friday evenings. Very disappointed. Must be new owners because this used to be one of our favorite spots. The ribeye was much lower quality than in the past. Salad dressings seemed watered down. Server seemed like she didn't want to be there. The only thing that hasn't changed is the prices - still premium. Well, first I have to say that all of the wait staff work hard and never stop moving. They seem to be doing their best! The cooks are making reasonably good food. The drinks are good. The problem is ... TIMING! It takes a while to get your drink, which is not as important to some folks, but what is important, the kitchen made our food and by the time it got to our table, all of our plates were cold. We don't normally complain, but at $30 per plate, I don't think it's too much to ask for hot mashed potatoes and steak. Thee waiter took our plates back and, to not ruin our prime rib, didn't microwave, but grilled the steak to hot and brought it back. End result- hot enough steak, cold mashed potatoes and cold veggies. (The clam chowder and garden salad served earlier were fine.) I can't blame the waiter, can't say I blame the cook. But I feel like we paid a lot of money for cold mashed potatoes and veggies. By the way....any place serving prime rib does better au jus (served hot) and horseradish ( NOT horsey ranch sauce). I cN tell Cascade Grill is trying to be something better....but maybe they need to experience REAL BETTER to see what they are doing wrong. Great food and service! Stopped on impulse for dinner after working late on a Friday night. I ordered the fish and chips, my husband the prime rib. We didn't get a chance to pull out our phone to look at them before a basket of warm rolls were delivered to the table. Then our salads shortly after. My fish snd fries were almost too hot to eat... not something one experiences very often. My husband's prime rib was a little more on the rare side than medium. Emily, our waitress whisked away and brought it back just to my husband's liking. I heard the waitress was explain to another table that they make their clam chowder fresh, with clams from Newport. Might have to give it a try... next visit as we'll be sure to return! PS - after clearing a table across the room, the employee pulled the table out and swept between the booth seats. I'm traveling for work, and this place was suggested to me by a co-worker. I'm definitely glad I listened to him. I got the filet mignon with a salad and a baked potato. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but it was lacking a little bit of seasoning. I also like my steaks, especially expensive ones, seared. Every year at this time, we come to Albany for a weekend. Last night, Friday, we had our usual dinner at the Cascade Grill, which is always amazing. Last night was no exception. Tonight, Saturday, I can't say much positive about dinner. Very small portions and it really wasn't that great. I always have the turkey dinner. Last night, it was fantastic. Tonight, I've had better Swanson TV dinners. Hidden under a few thin slices of "dry" turkey was about two tablespoons of stuffing. Cold potatoes too.. The cook even forgot the cranberry sauce. I mentioned it to the waiter, who was a very pleasant fellow, but it still seemed to fall on deaf ears. He brought back a tiny little cup of cranberry sauce, and that was it. I asked him to mention to the cook That he forgot the rest of my dinner. I think it's time to find a new favorite restaurant. Not really impressed. Music is archaic. Everything is brown to include the food. Salad was not fresh and leaves were visibly aged. I had chicken and it was ok at best. Fries were cooked in old grease and chicken was over cooked. Stroganoff was ok but the meat had grizzle. It too was brown. Staff was nice but the drinks were either too stiff or did not show any signs of alcohol. I don't recommend dining here if you expect good food for the listed price. read more

Couldn't be better for me. Exceptional food and service in a setting not yet overwhelmed with "me first" social media customer swamp. Personnel were very competent and efficient --- checking regularly to accommodate any updated order requests. Just a pleasant experience with exceptional food. Pan fried oysters modified for an appetizer size; extra condiments when requested; delicious drink; amazing Ritual coffee from Frisco; excellent Creme Brulee. Our friends were recommended to this place so we went with them today for lunch, arrived about 12:30pm. Group of seven. Sat pretty quickly. Service was good. I ordered the prime rib stroganoff........ barely warm flavorless dish. The bread was even cold. I added salt and pepper and didn't really help. My husband got the seafood platter. His mashed potatoes were hard and cold the batter for the oysters over lowered the oyster and couldn't taste it or even realize you were eating one. The fried cod was good. The calamari was not good. The fries with my friends burger were top notch however the burger was cold and almost burnt. My other friend got the chicken Alfredo it was dry and not creamy. I don't think any plate was worth coming back for. Maybe it was a bad day but we won't be back to try. Very disappointed. read more
