    a lobster, corn, and sausage in a styrofoam container

    Just moved to OR and this is now my lobster and crab spot! I got the Lobster and 6 shrimp that also came with a sausage, corn and potatoes and I chose lemon pepper! Amazing! Will be back!

    Dinner was AMAZING!!!! My husband and I each got a leg-alicious boil. There was NOTHING left! The seasoning was great! I wish the potatoes were just a bit softer. Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing! Delicious!!!! My husband said the same thing I did, I could have ate another two clusters it was so good!

    High prices cold food and stale dry crab. Yuk. Usually do not eat at food trucks and this place reminds me why.

It is always a big deal for me when I get to tell my wife that we are going to Sybaris. Tonight was going to be even more memorable because we brought our daughter along to celebrate Mother's Day. Our problem began when we ran into traffic and were 15 minutes late. At the door, our waiter informed us that the restaurant seats people every half hour. I apologized and we were seated. If I had known what was coming I would have turned around at the door and left. What followed was two hours of some of the rudest service I have ever experienced. I spent much of my youth working in restaurants in Upstate NY. I know that customers can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but our only mistake was that we were 15 minutes late. We spent the whole meal being polite while this guy continuously made us feel uncomfortable. It's difficult to describe the way this guy was acting. The food came out and it was good, but the waiter was coming off like wise ass. At the end of the meal there were hardly any people in the restaurant. The waiter gave me the bill then waited 15 minutes to pick up my card. I guess he got his satisfaction. If there was any doubt about his intentions, when we were getting ready to leave, he kept asking me if I wanted more water. That's an asshat move. Much to my wife's dismay, I tipped him fair because that's just what you do. My daughter gained a learning experience on the nature of jerks so I suppose that's something, but overall it was a sad twist on what was supposed to be a grand event. Of course we can't ever come back, but please take this information and remind your staff that they are a big part of the dinning experience.

There happened to be one open seat at the bar, which is my favorite place to dine when traveling. Sitting at the bar lets you talk story with the bartender, learn the menu, and watch the cocktails come together. If you're eating alone, I highly recommend grabbing a seat here. The bartender was friendly, easy to talk with, and clearly knew both the menu and the craft behind the bar. One thing that stood out right away was their use of fresh local ingredients, which really shows up in the flavor of the dishes and drinks. I started with the Golden Manhattan, made with a pecan-infused bourbon that was fantastic. It had a rich, slightly nutty flavor with warm vanilla notes and just the right touch of sweetness. Smooth, balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. Alongside that I ordered the chorizo clam chowder, which brought a creamy base with just the right amount of spice from the chorizo. Comfort food with a little personality. For dinner I switched gears and ordered the Creole Sour. This one really stood out. Bright citrus up front, a smooth bourbon backbone, and a subtle spice note that tied perfectly into the Creole theme. It had that classic sour balance, tart, slightly sweet, and refreshing without overpowering the drink. Dinner was the gumbo with hot bread and butter, and it delivered. To finish things off I kept it simple with a neat pour of Ben Holladay, which made for the perfect nightcap.
