We ate at the Cascade Grill since it's just a short walk from our hotel. The staff at the grill were very friendly & treated well throughout the dinner. The Coconut Shrimp that hubby ordered was delicious and a perfect size for a light meal as the shrimp was served on a thin bed of chopped lettuce, and rice pilaf was on the side as well. It was a great combination! BTW: you see it on their website, exactly the photo of what he had. AND house salad also came with the meal. I ordered the Chicken Salad with Avocado Ranch Dressing (it's not listed on the menu), but it was delicious, also. Lunch menu on Friday. The food was not that bad, and the service was great, but it was the smallest portion of deep fried cod I ever saw. Picture the little Bonnie Bell cheese wedges, thin like a tortilla chip, deep fried in batter and put two on your plate with a large lemon wedge and a bit of tarter sauce (You didn't need much!) I prefer the bar area to the resturant for casual dinning. If your taking clients out to dinner or your on a nice date then the restaurant is the place to be. If your just grabbing a quick meal after work or just want to hang with friends the bar is perfect for it. It's not to loud so conversation can happen without yelling. After looking for places to go for my husbands birthday, I found the cascade grill. All their photos and reviews looked good so I said let's give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. Their bread is delicious (especially when it's straight out of the oven) I ordered their prime rib, and garlic mashed potatoes. The prime rib had great flavor, and the mash potatoes were the perfect consistency (other places I've been to their potatoes are either runny or too stiff) my husband ordered the ribeye steak, baked potatoes, and French fries. He's picky when it comes to his steak and he absolutely loved it. My son had a little bit of everything and he couldn't get enough of the prime rib and mashed potatoes!! The staff was friendly, and the waiter did a great job at checking in through out our meal! I am giving this establishment two starts due to the fact that when my friend and I got up to use the restroom prior to paying for our drinks the bartender accused us of possibly leaving without paying. I understand the thought running through a bartenders mind, however on this occasion the bartender (Leah?) felt the need to share that with other customers whom were seated at a table near mine and my friends. When I arrived back to my table from the restroom the entire table was staring me down and one of them shouted to said bartender "you're good Leah, don't worry.." it made me feel very uncomfortable and I will not be returning to this establishment. Thanks to Chucks B's review, we gave Cascade Grill a try. The man-folk and I had the coconut prawns as an appetizer (delish!) and I had the soup of the day ~ gumbo. It was slightly spicy and perfect. The Hubs had a garden salad and he was pleased. Our entrees (I had the chicken alfredo) wasn't so wonderful. Bland with small pieces of chicken. Even after dousing it with salt and pepper it still wasn't good enough to bring home in a doggy bag. The service was great and the restaurant was nice enough. We will be back but I think we'll stick to the apps and soup. read more

On the outskirts of Albany is this wonderful restaurant. Walking in the decor is beautiful and homey. The lady who greeted us was sweet and funny. Our waiter Connor was absolutely amazing! He was very attentive and fun to talk to. The food was fantastic! I had a steak with salad and garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was melt in your mouth perfect and the potatoes were sooooo yummy. We decided to venture to Albany to eat here because of yelp reviews. The interior is clean and well setup. They weren't busy hardly at all. Overall we were impressed on walking in with the atmosphere. We were seated promptly and she took our drink order and handed us menus. We were looking over them when our server brought us our drinks and chatted with us a bit. We ordered nachos to all share as an appetizer. She kept our drinks full as we munched on nachos and then our burgers came. They were seriously so good. I don't usually order burgers out to eat but we all ordered one. I had avocado on mine. Fairly austere decor and mood music right out of a 1970's elevator, so had my initial expectations set low. Threw caution to the wind and went for the Ribeye. Was very pleasantly surprised! Quality breads, nice salad, and very good steak with garlic mash and veggies. Excellent flavor for all. Is a little pricey across the whole menu, but where isn't these days. By the way, if you fly in, there is aircraft parking on the NE end of the runway with a pedestrian access gate at the SW corner of the hotel. It's all of a 3 min walk - very convenient. Great food terrible managemen, they have a bar side and a restaurant side both have tables and full menus. What they don't tell you is to check the wait time at the bar.
