I was skeptical even after reading the reviews. I am happy to say the food was delicious. The special on the day I went was half order of biscuits and gravy. It was what biscuits and gravy should be. A thick moist biscuit gravy with chunks of sausage, I ordered a support thinking I'd need to enhance it...I was wrong. I also learned a new way to order a fried egg, over medium well. This gives you a mostly hard egg with just a touch of runny yolk. I don't like my egg too runny with biscuit and gravy. read more

Pros- Very old town feel. Great prices, clean restrooms, clean kitchen, loved the roomy seating & the staffs attentiveness. Food was good! We ordered chili cheese omelet & it hit the spot, also had a nice hot cup of coffee, side of fruit was such a big serving & super fresh! The sausage plate was delicious & the sausage was cooked to perfection & a really good size. The kids oatmeal is a great choice & is made with water (for those with a milk allergy) Cons- served kids water/drink in a sippy cup & the straw attachment was full of gunk, and the juice sippy cup the lid was bit up from previous kiddos. My suggestion is to get rid of those as they are not sanitary & most parents are careful not to risk their kiddo getting sick from leftover germs. Went in for a late breakfast and met a friend. We both ordered egg centric breakfasts and had coffee. The coffee was hot and tasted good, sometimes coffee is bleh, but this had flavor and was better than your average cuppa joe. Our breakfast items arrived, hot, excellent portions and exactly as ordered. They got over easy AND basted eggs exactly right. Good job. It's a little noisy but it's a diner so not out of acceptable limits in my book. The wait staff were all friendly and accommodating. Coffee kept hot and waters were always full. From the outside of the building, it does not look like what I expected. When we opened the door to go in though, it was pretty packed. The place had pretty cool decor, out server was super nice. They have a great menu to order from, lots of variety. I got the special, which was a Denver omelette with avocado on top, served with a side of sour cream and house made pico sauce, hash browns and toast. My husband ordered the hash brown combo which was hash browns, with your choice of meat and eggs, and gravy on top. Our food was delicious and it was one of the best breakfasts we have had !!!! Stopped here on the way back from Eugene airport. The waitress was really friendly, and the inside is deceptively bigger than the outside appears. I ordered the waffle breakfast combo, my dad ordered the french toast. My portion was big but just appropriately sized I could finish it. I've eaten in a lot of restaurants over the years, and this one is definitely a 5 star!! The menu has such a wide variety, and everything is excellently prepared. The service is super-fast and friendly. Your order always comes out right and everything is delicious. It's nothing fancy--just a down-home kind of place with good people and good food. My simple test for a breakfast place is: toast and also the gravy. They are simple things to prepare but most places manage to screw them up. At Sharon's Cafe both are 5 Star! The waitress was very friendly and professional and the ambiance was good too. I did go there for a meal, though, and that is where my disappointment with this place started. I ordered a "corned beef hash" breakfast plate ... something that I've had before, and have made myself many times. The food delivered to me was utterly inedible. Not hash, but chunks of overcooked meat of some kind that was as dry and tough as beef jerky. It seems that the cook there doesn't understand how this dish should be made and what it should look like. The food was very overpriced. I had the chicken fried steak, which was huge and tasted like hand made. The gravy covering it was both creamy and chunky with sausage. They give you enough hash browns to satisfy any appetite. This was my first time ever at Sharon's and I was not disappointed. I was craving a breakfast burrito but after reading the menu decided on the Huevos rancheros, to go. It was delicious! It does not come with a classics rancheros sauce so I was skeptical. I chose flour tortillas(corn tortillas are also an option), those are covered in house made black beans with great flavor, two eggs however you like, fresh salsa, cheese and green onion. I chose home fries which were deep fried, crunchy, and well seasoned. I will definitely be back! The atmosphere feels like a bar, but it is a hole in the wall restaurant with a small family feel to it. The waitress was SUPER attentive, and made you feel like a regular. I got a coffee which was topped off repeatedly throughout my 35-40 minute meal. I ordered the 3 egg omelette with Chorizo and subbed the potatoes and toast for 2 pancakes. The omelette was on point as far as texture, sponginess and cheese amount. The Chorizo however was not chorizo. It was more like a paprika filled hotdog sausage. Bland and flavorless. Regardless, I ate it without a problem. It was still delicious. The pancakes arrived with a 1 oz side of butter. The pancakes, about 7" round were about 1/4" thick. Fluffy. Touch of sweetness in the mix. Perfectly browned and cooked to perfection. I give 4 stars, and it needs at least another 1/2. Apart from the chorizo ingredient, everything else was awesome. Stopped here on a whim after looking at a disappointing apartment in Corvallis. Thankfully this breakfast rescued my day. I got one of their hashbrown scrambles with pepper jack cheese and the polish sausage. It was piping hot when I picked it up and was really quite delicious. Well I finally got to get inside and enjoy the lightly decorated inside. The best wall had a few pics of the greatest college team Oregon State Beaver's. Went to try the corned beef hash. Big chunks of tough, rubbery corned beef and inconsistent potatoes, also in huge chunks. Nothing crispy, and a weird spice or herb made it taste odd. It has been around 6 years since I had been here last and I stopped by this morning. I was a little surprised they only took cash, but I got cash the night before for another place in Corvallis. I sat at the bar and was helped promptly. I generally like employee input on what I am about I eat so I asked between the hash browns and the pancakes and upon her recommendation I went with pancakes, which I later discovered to be a great choice. I got two poached eggs, 4 pieces of perfect bacon, and 2 pancakes. The meal was everything I had hoped it would be. I also ordered a cinnamon roll to go at the end. Do I like the decor as much as I used to like the old? No, was it bad, also no. It felt a bit more like home and family before and now it has old coke signs and feels like they are trying. The staff is very friendly and the outdoor tent is not too crowded.
