I've never had anything but good experiences with the Elmer's chain, but my experience last Tuesday here was extraordinary. I know, it seems like a little thing, but when I requested my hash browns to be "a little crispy" they arrived perfect! Also, the omelette was outstanding. The service is always great- even when there was an exchange for my waitperson taking her lunch. I absolutely recommend. Big thanks to the staff! Wow - 6 of us right after a party of 5 and were seated right away. Coffee and drinks came promptly - excellent. And coffee was strong but not too strong - very good quality. I ordered the German pancake combo with fruit and two eggs. Delicious! Food is served super fast I'll say that, so perfect for when you want to have a good breakfast but have plans later on. Was on a weekend but was seated really fast. Food wasn't special or anything, good, but nothing mind blowing. However it's a good place to sit down with family and have nice talks so I still recommend. Not that I thought the experience would be good, went with my elderly parents as they seem to like this location. All food is either frozen, dehydrated, or processed. I preferred the avocado bacon hamburger, bun was crumble and fell a part, two small pieces of avocado one small tomato, one pieces of bacon with about 20 fries. I've come here for years for kids swim meets at Osbourne, picked up breakfast and took it back to where we were staying. When did you start doing no take out until 2pm? What's magical about 2pm? To Go containers arrive then? Hilarious! I do appreciate the restaurant though, the servers have always been kind and considerate. Never once had an issue with the food we order. Thank you for that! I am hoping the ToGo option comes back for breakfast, even if a mandatory gratuity is required, having the option would better serve what I would assume is a non-zero percentage of customers. We went to Elmers on a Thursday morning around 10:00. Very homey environment and packed. We ordered the Country Fried Steak with eggs lightly scrambled and we ordered the Waffle breakfast with eggs over easy and sausage. We were welcomed when we went into the restaurant and had quick service from our server once we sat down. I ordered the coffee but it wasn't worth it because it tasted watered down and a bit burnt. The country-fried steak was good, but I think that the gravy could have been a bit more flavorful. Hash Browns were soggy in the center, and not evenly cooked at all. I didn't eat them. The service was nice, and the environment was clean, but at the price of the food and the low quality of flavor in the sauces and coffee, I do not think that I would choose Elmers again. read more

Really bad experience. I went to get my sick mom her favorite thing from Elmer's, only to be told they don't do take out until after 2:00. No exceptions. I offered to sit at a table, tip, etc. and put the food in a leftovers container myself. To this, the gentleman at their desk accused me of trying to get around the rules. Which I was, I guess. It was his demeaning attitude and lack of kindness that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I will be finding a new "mom's favorite thing" somewhere else. read more

My youngest daughter and I came here on a Saturday. I wanted to go Downtown for breakfast but with Saturday market it tends to be busy and hard to find parking. My daughter also wanted a Cub Cake, a pancake shaped as a baby bear with whip cream and berries on it. I had the avocado benedict and it had a lack of flavor. Customer service was great, they were very busy. She checked on us multiple times. But I've had better benedicts elsewhere. read more

Ugh, this place is not my favorite. Ate here recently (because someone else chose it), and hated every minute of being there. Food is flavorless, service is average, and prices are stupid high for the quality of food you receive. The only reason they got a second star is because this location seemed extremely clean, and they deserve props for that. My family has been going to Elmer's since the 60s, and I still drop in every few years for the sake of nostalgia. The food hasn't been great (aimed at the senior citizen crowd) but you can't really ruin breakfast food, right? Wrong. This was my last visit. The food was very bad. We ordered the lingonberry crepes and the "fresh fruit" crepes. I think the lingonberry crepes were meant to be served with a scoop of whipped lingonberry butter. Instead, they were topped with lingonberry jam that had little chunks and curds of butter mixed in. It looked like a scoop of vomit, but was edible. The "fresh fruit" crepes looked and tasted DISGUSTING. They were topped with a red slurry that contained rotting strawberries. I think it had been fermenting in the fridge for way too long. The crepes seemed more like pancakes to me. Much thicker than the lingonberry crepes. It's over. No more Elmer's for me. Yuck. Ewwww! read more

Ate at Elmer's today for breakfast in Corvallis. The food was good as always. Breakfast is their thing. The waitress was a little unfriendly, and a little grouchy to be honest. The Ranch Breakfast was good as were the pancakes. My wife enjoyed her Elmer's omelet very much. They could stand to bring out a bigger container of syrup - those little cups are just not enough for pancakes. What's irritating about that is when you need more the waitress is no where to be found. Other than that the breakfast was good and filling. Give it a try! read more

If you're wanting cold, flavorless food, this is the place to go! The only flavor was the marionberry syrup. You're probably thinking, "Tell someone!" That sounds great except for the fact that no one came by after dropping off our food save for dropping off the check and speeding off immediately after. Everything was great, service, food etc... until today when I get notification of Elmer's charging my account multiple times for the same meal. (paid with debit) The food was good but not hundreds of dollars good. not a happy customer. Update: Went in when they opened, told there was nobody that could do anything except maybe the manager when he is in, no answer as to when he would be in, just call and check if he is there then drop what I am doing to go there. For the record this is the 3rd time this exact thing has happened to me at the Corvallis location, makes me wonder how many people don't catch double charges from them........... Update: The manager finally talked with me and said he would refund the extra charges. How ever I get a new notice of duplicate charges. He did refund me one of the charges AFTER he charged my account AGAIN. read more

I am a bit of an Elmers connoisseur. It really is my favorite easy restaurant. I really enjoy the one in Waterhouse in Beaverton. But I'm traveling through Corvallis and I stopped here and I met Luis Perez who is the franchise operator and his front line server, Kayonda. Kayonda delivered to us a nice to go order with notes to "dad" abs the kids. She named everything, put smiley faces on it, and gave us extra utensils and napkins because we had told her we were camping nearby, and she wanted to make sure we were comfortable. A clean, slightly old-fashioned restaurant with a friendly staff and well-prepared comfort food. The restaurant itself is clean and tables are quickly cleared and set. Wait staff know their menus and are quick to help, but seem fairly quiet and low-key. Depending on your preferences this may be a pro or con. It is a pro in my opinion. Complimentary "pop-overs" are provided before your dinner...and they are SCRUMPTIOUS. I'd happily pay for them, but free makes them that much tastier. Breakfast is definitely their specialty, but by no means their only ability. read more

Elmer's has been probably my favorite breakfast restaurant whether on the road or in my hometown. The 9th street restaurant people are kind and very professional. I've been dining there for over 28 years. What is most impressing is the food consistency. I know exactly what to expect for my choices. My favorite dish is the country fried steak and eggs. They have really good gravy and the steak is tender. My next favorite is the french toast with blueberries. If you want an old fashioned dinner, try the prime rib. So good. Corvallis doesn't have many affordable dining choices, but at Elmer's you always get full without emptying your wallet. read more
