great food and ambiance! I really liked the house fries, seasoned really well. came on a busy morning (day after halloweekend) so we expected a longer wait time but it only took maybe 10 mins after getting on the waitlist. definitely coming back ! read more

WiseCracks Cafe - for the love of bennys & double dipper - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Corvallis, Oregon

Visited this location while on vacation. Great breakfast . Generous portions (my wife and I shared an omelet). Sadly I didn't take any pictures but the location was clean and nice. Good food, I recommend the location! read more

I'm going to start off with saying this is the best breakfast in Corvallis. We were in town for three days and 2 out of the 3 we ate here. I had to come back and order Julia's love child a second time. But we'll get back to that. As we got here we were pleasantly surprised that it was not overly busy(but then we realized it was a Friday). The interior had all sort of wacky decor and was all done up for Halloween. There were framed celebrity photos throughout that included some of their great quotes. Our servers both days(since I'm writing this for both days), were very pleasant and bright(as any breakfast establishment should be). The whole menu in general looked different(and I love that), if I lived here I would probably come here often just to cycle through the menu. But the two times we came I ordered the same thing. Julia's love child. A Benedict that has two poached eggs over home fries mixed with garlic, asparagus and broccoli. Now the thought of veggies that early in the morning to some may not sound appetizing, but I'm a sucker for asparagus and different dishes. It was sooooo good. The hollandaise, which I imagine is made in house was also very flavorful. All of the flavors mixed well, it's a wonder I ordered it two days straight. The funny thing is my wife was eyeballing the same thing on the menu but agreed to order two different other dishes each day. The first day was the German hashbrowns and eggs. Out of this world. Grilled onions and white cheese over hashbrowns and eggs. The only thing that we weren't satisfied with was the side of gravy(which we like to try at all the breakfast places), which was plain and wasn't bad, but we at that point were expecting more just because of the flavor of the other dishes. The second day my wife ordered the Miss Swiss just because she wanted asparagus too in her breakfast. Again, packed full of flavors. Asparagus, mushrooms, garlic. Great stuff. I know when we're back next year this will be one of our stops for breakfast...if not more. read more

WiseCracks Cafe - Ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and a biscuit - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Corvallis, Oregon

Easily the best brunch spot in Corvallis. Very popular, so there is often a wait but staff are quick to clean and seat tables so it moves fast. Great variety of breakfast menu items for reasonable prices. I personally recommend any of the eggs benedict, but you really can't go wrong here. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. My only gripe is that a basic cup of coffee is weirdly expensive, so I usually stick with some ice water. Other than that, this cafe is a great local spot with nice ambiance that everyone should go enjoy! read more

Wait over family weekend was long but that's to be expected. The portion sizes were good and the food was very tasty. This was our first time here but won't be our last. Rolling thru with a scooter was a little tight and was the same in the handicapped bathroom but made it work. Everyone enjoyed their meals and even reheated a couple days later it was still super tasty- the sign of great food is how leftovers taste!! Get the Slamwich- you won't be disappointed. read more

My 2nd time here, visiting my daughter. I had the French toast with coffee . My daughter ordered the waffles with chicken. Both were delicious options. The service was friendly. I feel like everyone in Corvallis is beyond friendly compared to California where I live lol . The ambiance was calm during late breakfast. Definitely will be back when in town read more

I was really hoping this place was going to be excellent. It was good but not close to great. Greeter was very upbeat and nice. Sat us at a small table but moved us to the bar at our request with no issues. Once at the bar service was ok. I ordered coffee and water, wife only ordered water. None of which was ever refilled nor were we asked if we wanted a refill. We ordered breakfast which sounded great at 930 am. Eggs and hash browns were cooked very well. They were also very fresh. Toast was ok and was buttered correctly so the butter melted. The Strawberry jam was excellent!! Here was our issue. The sausage links were horrible at best. Very dry like they were days old frozen sausage from a dollar store. Best way I can describe them. They are NOT fresh in any way. They were like cutting a piece of jerky that was chewy. So make sure you do not order sausage here. Also hope you get refills. If you are just going for eggs, hashbrowns, and toast they will not disappoint. Just do not get thirsty. read more

Overall solid breakfast but nothing to write home about. We were seated and served quickly on a Sunday morning. Opted for the classic 2 eggs + meat breakfast and it did the job, though I've definitely had other, better diner-style breakfasts. Staff was attentive and friendly. Wouldn't go out of my way to return but it was overall fine. read more

Breakfast was good but pretty average. They offer a lot of standard items like pancakes, bacon and eggs, skillets and a few egg Benedict options. Slight wait earlier on a Sunday morning but one of the few options open at that time. read more

Chicken Fried Steak here was fantastic! Service was good too. It was great experience

I love going to breakfast here. I usually order the huevos rancheros or the eggs benedict. I also like that you can order an extra side of rancheros sauce or hollandaise sauce on the side of your meal. Usually there is a bit of a wait for a larger group but if there is only a couple people you can't get seated pretty quick even on busier days. read more

Came in with my party of 6. Couldn't be seated until whole party was there, wasn't too bad so wasn't too big of a deal. Service was fast, ordered my orange juice and got a small...it was extra small. Was so confused on how small it was. Not bad service and food was good (I got chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and eggs) but maybe not the most cost effective. The music choice was interesting, somehow went from party rock to The Bee Gees? read more

[FOOD]: 8/10 * The el diablo omelette definitely is a yummy breakfast. The chorizo is decently seasoned and accompanied by some hot sauce, this omelette is amongst my favorites here! * My friend got the mimosa flight and was pleasantly surprised by the grape, apple, and grapefruit mimosas. The champagne used also had sweet after taste notes [SERVICE]: 10/10 * Our waitress was a sweetheart! She was extremely attentive to our table despite there being a full restaurant. Really friendly and made our dining experience better. [AMBIANCE]: 7/10 * Cute little breakfast place, it has very cozy vibes and the decor is unique and captivating read more

Solid cafe offering an extensive list of traditional and fun breakfast fare. The menu is BIG so it may be hard to make a decision. Ordered the traditional breakfast and a side of pancakes. The pancakes are soooo good. The eggs are done to order and well executed. The hashbrowns are tasty, though could be a little crisper and saltier. The coffee is strong and free flowing. The service is friendly and efficient. The place is very popular. Will come back! read more

My omelette was great and cooked to order. I also enjoyed the hash browns. Great diner coffee too. Excellent service. The overall ambiance was that of a fairly crowded diner. I enjoyed myself and the meal; I will return. Thank you read more

Over rated! Went in for lunch and was told no lunch today or tomorrow due to holiday. Heard 3 groups get offered lunch menus after that. When questioned about it got cold glares from other wait staff. The meal I was served (2 egg and meat) was Luke warm, hash browns were more like butter glazed hash blonde. It was delivered 2-3 min after ordering so I highly doubt it was made fresh. The toast was very dry. Food has never been this substandard but the staff is still less than customer service oriented, unless they feel they might get a better tip out of you. read more

Fast friendly service, food came out even faster and it was delicious! They also have an adorable little kids corner play area

Best hangover breakfast spot after to go to after a night of Corvo bar crawls. I always get the hobo hash and it is so filling and revitalizes me after a night of drinking. The portion size is very generous and you will not be disappointed. I also really appreciate the service here as it is typically very busy, but they keep you supplied with coffee. The wait on food has been pretty quick in my experience, but it may vary on timing. I have heard some complaints of a particular older server who is racist/bigoted, but as a PoC, I have never experienced mistreatment or felt unwelcome at WiseCracks. read more

Food=5/10 Food wasn't anything to write home to mom about, but it was a typical diner quality. Food ordered was chicken fried steak and hobo hash. Coffee was a 7/10 and there was a container of 1/2 and 1/2 at every table. Service=4/10. There was a sign in sheet that customers had to fill out upon entering the establishment. There wasn't a sign stating this fact and people standing there didn't offer this information. Server was nice and quick and food delivery was about 15 minute wait. read more

We had an early start and made it into Wisecracks by 730am on a Saturday. It was not busy when we arrived but had started to fill up by the time we left (though still no wait). We were greeted right away and brought to a table. Coffee came out shortly and was plenty hot. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The food came out quickly and well prepared. While the food wasn't really extraordinary, it was definitely tasty. The hollandaise was well made, and the sausage gravy had good flavor. The hashbrowns could use some seasoning. Being right on one of the main streets of Downtown Corvallis, street parking could be a problem. But there are a few lots around and you can enter the restaurant from either side. The restroom was clean and stocked. I do wish it wasn't so dark inside for a breakfast spot, but then again, they are not a breakfast only spot, so it makes sense. read more

highly recommend for a delicious brunch! generous portions, it was fresh with good quality ingredients; though it was packed (and often has a 40-60 minute waitlist), the service was good, the staff was kind and knowledgeable, and the ambiance was nice. I'd definitely go back again! *Remember to sign yourself in, they should have better signage for this but since it's a local hotspot, most people already know the drill* read more

Sooooo whenever I travel out of the tristate area and or journey to the west or Midwest I need to remind myself. BE PATIENT!!! Now I mean this is the funniest of ways. As a New Yorker you would normally expect someone at the front to seat you. NOPE! Lol. But they did have a list that you put your name into "yourself" and the number in your party, then you wait! Someone comes along and chats up with you and then finds you a very nice and cozy table to sit at!! Then it begins!!! Yummy time!!! Lots of AMAZING items in the menu and as a New Yorker I need to eat something we don't really get back our way. So I went with a skillet and eggs and some biscuits and some sausage gravy!!!! And um, it was ALLLLLL Yummy in my Tummy!!! And when you order coffee. They give you a freaking cauldron of it!!!!! YES!!! The whole staff was very friendly and any one you spoke to was willing and able to give you help or advice. This was a VERY enjoyable meal and I strongly recommend you to come here and get some great eats!!! read more

Our first visit and the place didn't disappoint. It was packed and that was a clear sign it was a fav with the locals. We were seated at the counter which had a 50s vibe. Lots of photos and artifacts from over half a century. The breakfast dishes were well prepared - I had an omelette with chorizo and jack cheese - there wasn't that much chorizo so mostly cheese. Also, they have a local (Gramma made) jam - it's unusual in that it flows like a ketchup - not the thick jelly that most of us are used to. Didn't disappoint and if we're back in town for a long stay, this would be on the short list for breakfast. read more

This place is super cute, very clean and the staff were really friendly! I love the retro vibe of the place! The only thing that brought this down for me was the food. Which could just be based on the time we came in, since it was very busy. Could also just be what I ordered, I ordered the Mother Clucker sandwich. The chicken was extremely dry like nearly burnt type dry. However, the biscuits and gravy that came with it were very delicious so it kinda made up for the chicken. So I would still come back and maybe just try something else! Overall, just think it was what I ordered. read more

He had the basic breakfast and the eggs were cooked past over-easy, but otherwise it was a good meal. Mom had an omelet and had no complaints. I had the mother clucker which is very good. I think $4 per order of coffee is a bit greedy when you are already buying breakfast, however. The big complaint I have is the noise level. The place was not busy and it was so loud it was difficult to enjoy each other's company. Music should be background for the age group that was there. And the worst is the bussing station so close to the tables. The young man dumping those dishes in the tub didn't seem to care how noisy that was. He could easily place the dishes, or maybe move the station to the unused area of the restaurant where it won't bother anyone. read more
