Somewhat mixed review here. The good is that the team of 3 movers were friendly, efficient, and they successfully moved all our furniture from a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator to our new house 3 miles away with few mishaps. The cost of the move was definitely worth it, especially in the 90 degree heat these guys had to work in, and I appreciate their efforts! Before they left, the team repeatedly asked me if everything was where I wanted it and made adjustments if necessary. They brought all the materials they needed, including extra boxes, tape, etc. The downside was that the movers were supposed to arrive between 8 and 9am, and they did not arrive until 10:45am with no explanation or forewarning. I tried calling different people in the company repeatedly but was not able to get an answer on where the movers were and when they would be arriving. I understand things come up, but I would have appreciated heads up that they would be late, as it altered my plans and I ended up sitting around for 2-3 hours waiting for them. My only other issue, which I only noticed a couple days after the move, was that my desk had be damaged by the packing tape, which stripped the vinyl right off the side (pictured). A box had been placed right next to the desk covering the damage, so I didn't see it until afterwards while unpacking. The charitable assumption is that the movers did not notice. The uncharitable one is that they did and placed the box there so that I wouldn't see it before they left. I oscillated between 3 and 4 stars for this reason, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt so others can make their own determination. read more

Del's was recommended by a friend and their quote was quite affordable compared to the big names in Chicago. They sent out Dave B, Charlie, and Chico. These guys are so polite and friendly, not to mention extremely hard workers. We have a large couch which couldn't fit through the door of our new place - when I tell you they tried, they TRIED. I don't think other places would have put in the same amount of effort. They also had to trudge up and down 3 flights of stairs at both apartments so it wasn't exactly an easy job, but they had a good attitude about it. they do their job right but they up charge you tremendously. they charge you $165 an hour from start of loading on the truck to delivery. They charged me $165 for an hour travel from 2 towns away when it should only take about 20 minutes. They also couldn't move a piece of furniture upstairs so the one guy had to have me help them. I should have tipped myself. I won't be using them again. 3 stars for moving my furniture and everything was there except a tube from my vacuum was missing and 3 stars is being generous here.... read more

Moved in January of 2021. They refused to wrap several pieces of furniture after I instructed them explicitly to do so. I couldn't monitor their every move as I was packing other items. As a result, wood furniture was noticeably scratched. Additionally, they put dents in the walls that had to be professionally repaired. I had to call repeatedly to get Del's to repair the walls after I moved. Alex seemed bored and disinterested in the problems they caused. read more

They called to let me know they would be arriving soon and arrived within their designated windows to start the move in/ move out. They took serious pride in their work- ensuring the truck was packed well and handling our possession as if they were their own. DO NOT RECOMMEND: We hired Del's Moving because we wanted to support local business, most of the reviews were positive, and the posted photos on social media seemed professional. Based on what we were seeing, we expected the same quality of service. The men that showed up appeared a bit less professional than what we were expecting compared to what we had seen on their social media. The group seemed to be comprised of day laborers, or whoever was available to handle the job that day. Some showed up late, and the ones that arrived on time joked about how those individuals must have been out late the night before. Despite that, we were still hopeful and confident that they would get the job done with care and professionalism. Our point of contact for the move was Rich, who was present for about 45 minutes in the morning, never to be seen the rest of the day. We witnessed items being dropped (a heavy file cabinet onto our wood floor that had just been refinished), scraped, bumped, and damaged due to being improperly handled or wrapped. We have damage to our dining room table, chairs, fine art frames, and gouges in the wood floor at both our previous home and current home. While keeping in mind that accidents happen, this experience was so disappointing and frustrating because upon hearing of all the damage, Rich has completely cut off communication with us. We were told that he was submitting the claim to his insurance company and all attempts to follow up have gone unanswered. He is no longer communicating with us. Being the 1st time we used movers I was skeptical about items being scratched or damaged or the walls and hallways being damaged on the way in and out. These guys worked perfectly covering everything and being cautious. They showed up on time and over all did a good job. We hired Del's Movers to move our 1 bedroom apartment from Brookfield to A two bedroom house in Darien. My wife initially called and spoke with Alex(one of the owners) we were quoted $380 for the move which included 3 hours of moving with the 1 hour travel time. When asked if that's enough time Alex said that's more then enough time. We believed it wouldn't take more than that as we only had a 1 bedroom with no couches or dining room furniture just bedroom furniture. We were excited that we found movers that were available on short notice as I was injured at work in February an my wife is 7 months pregnant. My wife and I had everything really prepared everything was in boxes no loose random misc things. The day of the move two men showed up with a young woman at 9:15. They were incredibly respectful and professional. They were able to move the boxes in the truck with ease they even complimented us on how easy it was with the boxes cause we were so organized. Unfortunately when it came to our bedroom set there was some difficulty as they took some time to disassemble. We finally were packed up after about three hours. We left for the new home as it was only a 20 min drive. They moved everything in. Without damaging anything an as it was a bigger house took about two hours to finish unloading. When it was time to time they told us it $570. We asked why is it that price as we were quoted $380 for four hours an we assumed it would be another hourly charge for the extra hour. This is when the young man told us we are getting charged for 5 hours of labor an 1 hour for drive time. We told him that's not what we're told. We called Dels an that's when Alex answered this was my first time speaking to him an when I explained to him what was going on he told the same thing. I kindly said there must've been some time of miscommunication between my wife an yourself. This is when he abruptly cut me off an said " I told your wife what I just told you" I had my phone on speaker an my wife hopped on the conversation to correct what was said. He talked on the phone arguing with my wife about what was said. Alex was incredibly disrespectful an rude to my wife. It's sad that instead of clearing up the issue an trying to come to some type of understanding you sit there on The phone with a woman who's 7 months pregnant. We knew nothing was going to get accomplished. We paid for the service as money wasn't the issue but the miscommunication an the blatant disregard for customer service from one of the owners. Overall the movers were fantastic an we tipped them well. But our experience with Alex will make us never use dels movers again and won't be recommending them to anyone. Great experience! We have hired Del's movers to move a few very big sofas. I have found them on yelp and messaged them, they responded quickly and I was very pleased as the manager/owner who contacted me was very nice, helpful and he gave me a reasonable flat rate since we had to move only three items. All the other movers who I have contacted were ridiculously expensive and had hidden fees for travel and extra time which I would not settle for. Normally we move furniture to our townhouse ourselves but we were concerned that the couches we got were way too but for us to handle and super tricky to maneuver through the turns in the corridor up the stairs to the living room. The team who came over were super polite and professional. They have wrapped the sofas and did everything possible to fit them in the staircase and bring them upstairs. At some point we thought it won't be possible to move the biggest sofa up but the team went out of their way (including taking the front door out!) to try to deliver the sofa upstairs. And they did! Overall a great and quick service at a reasonable price! We will definitely use them again when we will be moving next time! I called Randy around 10:00 AM yesterday DESPERATE for a same day move under special circumstances for my 83 year old mom. Our original movers cancelled at 9:00. (Long story, they're not at fault.) By 3:30 he had a team of three guys there. They were really hard working, friendly, and helpful with all the last minute odds and ends. Do not use this company! My fiancé and I picked them based off of their Google and Yelp reviews. This was the worst moving experience we've ever had. They were late, claimed that from Countryside IL to Willowbrook IL was an hour drive. They were incompetent braking down simple bed frames to add time to our bill. Damaged our furniture and drywall of our new house. We called customer service and they said someone would come out to look at the damage and off the contract they would compensate us. The owner answered yesterday and said all he could do was $20 because one of his men was injured during our move and my fiancé had to help move the rest and gave us $100 discount for moving our own furniture. Not sure how they have such great reviews,. I would never recommend this company if this is how the owner treats their customers and the 3 stooges show up to move your furniture.(not pictured is the couch they dropped and damaged) read more

Cons: They showed up an hour and a half late. They left a piece of my bed frame in the truck and I had to get it back from them a few days later. They seemed disorganized as they needed to reconfirm my move three times. Pros: The movers are nice, they handled my furniture properly and carefully, they were honest and redelivered my missing bed frame when they could have just said that they didn't find it, and they are cheaper than other options. Being late was a big hassle for us, so I don't think I would use them again, but they aren't the worst movers I've had. read more

I had purchased something online that was delivered to dels to get delivered to my home. I placed the order and received confirmation that the product had been delivered to Dels and they will schedule an appointment to drop it off. It took them 3 days for them to call me, and after attempted to call them for 2 weeks, leaving messages and texts, finally got a hold of someone. They told me that because of where I live, I was "inconvenient" for their delivery routes, and it would take another week at least for them to get it to me. It took another week and some days for them to get me my order. I was guaranteed delivery on november 28th and received the product on December 12th because I was inconvenient and they were busy. We used Del's on the recommendation of a local facebook group I am in for our big house move. I contacted at least 5 other companies and the prices were exorbitant! Del's was the second cheapest option we received, but my least expensive option wanted us to buy our wrapping supplies for the furniture. This stressed me out with not knowing how much to get, and when I looked up prices for the wrap, it would end up being more expensive than Del's! Communication to set up the move was done strictly by email and was simple. I always got quick responses to my questions. They took an inventory how much we would have, and provided us a 3 man team for the job. We also got a confirmation phone call the day prior to review the plan. They have a 4 hour minimum requirement (3 hours of furniture moving and 1 for travel to the second location), which was more than enough time to get the job done. The team arrived exactly on time and were ready to work. The guys were friendly, efficient, wrapping some of our items in saran wrap, and using blankets to cover other items. Everything arrived in the same condition it left the house in. They put our couch and other furniture back together and got everything in order where we wanted it in our new home. My only issue with the moving team is that at least 2/3 of them were smokers and they left behind a heavy smoke smell. It eventually dissipated, but it wasn't totally pleasant. I would gladly recommend Del's to anyone who is moving! They made our day much less stressful! read more

A couple of moving companies I called didn't even want give me a quote because the building management was hard to deal with. I dealt with Rich who took care of everything. The move was on a Sunday. They got us out and over to the new office in what I thought was record time. Rich was timely, courteous and professional. Plus he had the best price by far. Amazing, I 100 % recommend hiring this company. They were able to get my giant sofa sleeper (super heavy couch) hoisted up to my 2nd floor balcony to bring it in, since it could not make it up the stairs due to a narrow entrance. They were in and out super fast, very professional, wore masks, and got the job done. The best movers around and affordable prices! I ordered a large area rug online and Del's was the company to deliver it. Pablo called me and said the rug would be delivered first thing the next day, which was great, but I had couches being delivered that day and asked him if they could come sooner--like in the next few hours. Originally Pablo said no because all of his guys were already on jobs, but called me back in 5 min to tell me he had two men coming my way! Mario and Tony were at my door within the hour. They were courteous, fast, clean and overall professional and wonderful.
