Overall this place is above average. We made reservations for Saturday night at 9pm and checked in right at that time. Upscale restaurant that boasts a strict dress code - yet I counted at least 10-15 people in jerseys, ball caps, ripped jeans and wild oversized shirts. Me? I don't care - but I wouldn't worry about the dress code too much. We were sat on the second level right next to the stairs. Our waitress, older lady with short hair and who is really expressive in explanation took care of us. She overly explained everything - which was tough at times. I started with the lobster bisque which wasn't very good - soup tasted old and the consistency of it was odd. The table also got rolls in a small metal pan. Taste was ok but they were dry and would have been nice to come served with butter. For my entree I ordered the 6oz Japanese A5 Wagyu. I decided to order it medium rare although usually I'm a strict medium person. The steak was very good - melts immediately upon taste, and was seasoned perfectly. We shared sides of whipped potatoes and broccolini which were very good as well. As a dessert we shared the lemon cake which was massive - the picture doesn't really do it justice. Again - overall it was good, but not the over the top fancy as it may be billed.

Phenomenal service and mouthwatering dishes. Steak cooked to a perfect medium (you never seem to get that anymore)! My tuna was tender and went wonderfully with the paired radish salad as well as the asparagus we added on . I will say I wasn't impressed with the beef carpaccio. That is one of my top favorite dishes and I found the stone mustard to be extremely over powering which was disappointing. However , I realize a lot of restaurants simply can't find their niche until they have trial and error with different dishes , recipes and customers/guests. This is why I am okay with giving 5 stars. Service very professional and we even had the manager stop by to check in. It was nice seeing that some places still have the curtsey to go above and beyond to ensure we leave with a satisfied belly and a great experience. Expensive - yesss. My husband ordered their margarita and asked them to make it a double. $42!! However it was in fact a perfect margarita. The atmosphere is pretty typical fine dining kind of decor /set up. Very modern very classy.

my first time there -- compliments to Chef Alberto (excellent!!) and our waiter, Zach, who gave perfect attention throughout the night iykyk and very professional as well as down to earth .. I can't wait to go back when returning to Pittsburgh! the food was to die for - yummy .. not a complaint in the house .. perfect lighting and great save between guests - not crowded together like a can of sardines.. it was perfect - great birthday celebration .. I loved it!!

The service was on point and the food Definitely Did NOT disappoint The night vibe was nice and the Sommelier- Joma * (hope I didn't misspell apologies in advance), did a great job with the perfect recommendation for a bottle of Red to pair with our dinner. The apps were perfect! our table of 5 enjoyed the Wagyu Meatballs, the Thick cut Bacon and the Tuna Tartar. For dinner we each enjoyed different dishes. I had the lobster Bisque, there was a Strip Steak had, a Ceasar salad, Truffled Fries, the Creamed Spinach was really tasty as well. I recommend a night here with a group or by yourself, and perhaps a date night I will always come back here! The bar is amazing with live entertainment to have drinks, or while waiting for a table. Cheers!!! Bon Appetite!!

This is definitely one of the nicest restaurants in Pittsburgh. The vibe was great around Christmas, with a live singer in the bar area. On a Saturday night there was definitely more noise, which we like, rather than your quiet high end restaurant. Service was great, but as expected for the price. Filet, lobster mac, whipped potatoes all 5/5. Salmon 3.5/5 (lacked some flavor) Ahi Tuna 4/5 Butter cake 4.5/5 Beignets 3.5/5

I had a work meeting scheduled and I arrived early. We decided to get some apps at the bar. I ordered the bacon bites and the steak & cheese egg rolls. The bacon bites had an amazing smokey flavor and just melted in your mouth. The egg rolls were just ok. They were sort of bland, and they give you a sweet Chilli sauce, but when I think Steak & Cheese, sweet chilli sauce doesn't go. They gave me some Dijon mustard which helped. The break was just ok this time, seemed a bit stale. Not the super fresh and soft it usually is. The Tuna tartar was also very good. I ordered it with bread chips instead of the prawn chips. The Hamachi - was fantastic. It was my 1st time having it and the flavor was incredible. The bar was crowded. The bartenders were great as usual.

Atmosphere was very nice and upscale. Food was impeccable. We ordered the surf and turf trio and the 16 oz prime ribeye. The seafood was spectacular, highly recommend the lobster tail. Wait staff was very friendly.

Fine dining begins and ends with cordial, knowledgeable and attentive staff and servers. It begins when you walk in the door of this trendy, beautiful restaurant. The greeting of the staff, the amazing bartender, and then ultimately Daniel our server made it a warm and wonderful night to remember. The wine service was excellent. Daniel's recommendations were perfection. Filet with a scallop and a crab cake to share. We started off with oysters to wake up our palettes. And oh the warm butter nut cake with vanilla ice cream to end our dinner was delish! The espresso was the best and off to the theatre we went! Thank you to Daniel and the team of staff that makes it a favorite classy place to go.

Some of the best steak in the city! Although it is a chain it never disappoints and 2 times a year we get to enjoy restaurant week deals and pricing and they have one of the BEST. I mean just look at it. The service, food, and vibe is always on point! See you all soon!

Dinner was wonderful. Food came out beautifully done. The ambiance was nice. Service was great.

Del Frisco is another upscale steak restaurant, with the same menu, atmosphere, prices, and service as the others. We had a very pleasant dinner tonight, martinis, shared strip steak, fries, and creamed corn. Service was excellent and the food was good, but the dinner lasted over an hour and a half, even though we ordered quickly. We may return when it's convenient, but there's nothing special to attract us.

We walked into Del Frisco's for an early dinner during Restaurant Week, and it was an absolute treat. The ambiance is undeniably upscale, but it still feels inviting rather than stuffy. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and exactly as ordered. But the real surprise was the twice-baked potato, which was hands-down one of the best I've ever had. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, it elevated the meal even further. Adding to the experience was the live music, which was done exceptionally well--tasteful and at the perfect volume, enhancing the atmosphere without forcing conversations into a shouting match. And the service? Absolutely top-notch. From start to finish, I felt well taken care of, with friendly and attentive staff making sure everything was just right. Would 100% come back--Del Frisco's knows how to do steakhouse dining right!

This is where my mom and I chose to spend our celebratory Christmas dinner! I had not been to a Pittsburgh steakhouse in well over a decade, and was intrigued by Del Frisco's modern decor! Our server was extremely bubbly and energetic while also maintaining that classy steakhouse environment. I had an extra dirty martini that was great! I started with a Caesar salad. I really expected more from it. The dressing was good, lettuce was crisp. But it looked like something I could make at home. I expected fresh finely grated parm but the cheese looked like it came from a container. I ordered a filet with truffle butter. Now this was delicious. That truffle butter took it to level 100000. For sides we got the lobster mac & cheese and the mushrooms. When the sides were brought out, the servers serve them into the plates. I would have preferred to serve these myself at the table. Especially because while attempting to serve the lobster mac, the server dropped a large chunk of lobster on the floor. I could have cried seeing it plummet to the ground. Dramatic, I know. Despite that loss, the sides were still very good. For dessert, we were talked into the warm butter cake and it was totally worth it. Highlight of the meal for sure, neck and neck with the truffle butter. It was heavenly. Sweet, gooey, with a cold vanilla ice cream in the center. The perfectly balanced dessert.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

Cocktail menu is deceiving as they didn't have all of the ones listed but they added a few extra that our server was kind enough to bring to our attention. I ordered a daiquiri that was not listed and it was so good. More like thick juice than a cocktail. Didn't even taste like it had alcohol in it. GF ordered a jalapeño marg that was also more sweet than spicy but had the cutest little garnishes. There were many appetizers that were tempting but you really can't ever go wrong with a burrata, especially fried burrata. Theirs was served on a bed of tomato sauce and something green, likely basil related. So fucking delicious. Only thing that would have been better was if there was some bread to put that shit on. Love that they had a specific vegetarian entree: roasted spaghetti squash with creamy spinach, chickpeas, and arugula. This was very good but it was basically cream soup in the bowl with spaghetti squash. I ordered the Asiago stuffed gnocchi with corn in what was billed as a elotes type vibe. Very good and creative. They also have champ bongs which is incredible. How is this not more popular?? Portions were huge, but the dishes were kind of basic with a ton of sauciness/goopiness. My burrito from Mijo had a ton of chicken but not much in terms of beans and rice and no veggies or garnishes. When we got there we were told that they weren't ready yet. We didn't even tell them we had reservations. So we waited. . . and waited. Finally my son walked over to the bar and told them that we had reservations. The bartender called a server out. She asked us if we were doing fine dining. I said that I wanted to check out the menu to see what they had. She took us to the back of the restaurant. We found out later that there was a nicer area but it was closed off. All of a sudden all of these people started coming in. It took us a minute and we realized that they were guests of the Embassy hotel. They must have been given tickets for free drinks. The bar line was long and stayed long. They were also given access to a very small snack buffet. The server that waited on us was the one and only server working the entire restaurant. She was constantly cleaning tables and checking on the snack buffet. So we had to wait ridiculous amounts of time to order, to get our food, and to even pay. I had ordered a cup of lobster and corn chowder. When I finally got it, it was barely room temperature. It tasted like it was straight out of a can. There was one tiny piece of lobster and about half a can of corn. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and was starving so I ate it. My son tried it and gave it a hard pass. As my entree I ordered shrimp tacos. There was seemed to be fresh pico on it but the shrimp was 90% breading. Not good. My son ordered the club type sandwich. It had a nice portion of meat on it and tasted ok. (That is what the one star is for.). Was very disappointed from start to finish. I won't be back. Ever.
