Their menu had many appetizing options, but we chose to just do small bites and a few cocktails. Everything was had was GREAT! Their bread is out of this world! Soft, flavorful, and amazing! Their pork belly was so very tasty and with that pepper on top of each slice, it offered a very nice kick. Overall this place is above average. We made reservations for Saturday night at 9pm and checked in right at that time. Upscale restaurant that boasts a strict dress code - yet I counted at least 10-15 people in jerseys, ball caps, ripped jeans and wild oversized shirts. Me? I don't care - but I wouldn't worry about the dress code too much. We were sat on the second level right next to the stairs. Our waitress, older lady with short hair and who is really expressive in explanation took care of us. She overly explained everything - which was tough at times. I started with the lobster bisque which wasn't very good - soup tasted old and the consistency of it was odd. The table also got rolls in a small metal pan. Taste was ok but they were dry and would have been nice to come served with butter. For my entree I ordered the 6oz Japanese A5 Wagyu. I decided to order it medium rare although usually I'm a strict medium person. The steak was very good - melts immediately upon taste, and was seasoned perfectly. We shared sides of whipped potatoes and broccolini which were very good as well. As a dessert we shared the lemon cake which was massive - the picture doesn't really do it justice. Attended a work event here and everyone was highly impressed with the food and staff at Del Frisco's. The drinks were great and the food was even better. My steak was cooked perfectly and the strawberry cheesecake was rich and flavorful. My tuna was tender and went wonderfully with the paired radish salad as well as the asparagus we added on . I will say I wasn't impressed with the beef carpaccio. That is one of my top favorite dishes and I found the stone mustard to be extremely over powering which was disappointing. However , I realize a lot of restaurants simply can't find their niche until they have trial and error with different dishes , recipes and customers/guests. This is why I am okay with giving 5 stars. Service very professional and we even had the manager stop by to check in. The bacon bites had an amazing smokey flavor and just melted in your mouth. The egg rolls were just ok. They were sort of bland, and they give you a sweet Chilli sauce, but when I think Steak & Cheese, sweet chilli sauce doesn't go. They gave me some Dijon mustard which helped. The break was just ok this time, seemed a bit stale. Not the super fresh and soft it usually is. The Tuna tartar was also very good. I ordered it with bread chips instead of the prawn chips. We have a new favorite steakhouse! We came for Valentine's Day (really a day before) dinner, which was delightful! From our huge booth to the service to the fresh bread to our salads to the drinks to the steaks, everything was perfect. The lighting is dim, and the mood is relaxing. It can get a little loud, but it's not a huge deal. There was a private event taking place in the lobby. I had the Strawberry Rose Sidecar, which was excellent and even included a mini rose! My husband enjoyed the Watermelon Mint Cooler. We got the wedge salad as our appetizer and mashed potatoes and broccolini for our sides. I can't praise the broccolini enough--this was probably my favorite! My husband got the ribeye while I got the filet mignon. It's often challenging for chefs to cook a well-done steak without burning it or drying it out. This was done to perfection! My only regret was not getting a sauce like garlic butter. I really don't understand why this restaurant has such a high rating. Let me start off by saying that I dine at a lot of restaurants all over the country. I'm definitely bougie and I enjoy a true fine dining experience-this was not that. We booked a reservation for Father's Day after visiting a restaurant next-door for Mother's Day and seeing so much traffic inside. I don't typically go for chain restaurants but I figured let's give it a try. Oy. I don't mind spending $100 to $200 per person if the quality of the food as well as the taste warrant that price tag. I spent $426 with tip, for two people and my meal was below average. Disappointing. We started off with the oysters, they were meh to fine. Next we had the bacon steak, my husband said it was fine. Then we split the Caesar salad and I don't know how you can mess up a Caesar salad, but the lettuce was not ripe, it was not flavorful, the dressing was bland, and the croutons weren't very flavorful. Next, we had the Wagyu meatballs and I didn't think they tasted like anything. For our main, I had the strip, and my husband had the Australian wagyu. My steak was fine, he said his steak was fine, but he said please remind him to never get wagyu again. For our side, we got the au gratin potatoes and again, I tasted only chives. I saw cheese on them, but I didn't taste any cheese flavor. Bizarre. For dessert, we split the butter cake and there is another steakhouse in the north that does an amazing butter cake so I had high expectations and this was average. This was one of the better tasting things of the meal though. Oh, the bread was good too. Overall 1/5, very disappointed. read more

This is where my mom and I chose to spend our celebratory Christmas dinner! I had not been to a Pittsburgh steakhouse in well over a decade, and was intrigued by Del Frisco's modern decor! Our server was extremely bubbly and energetic while also maintaining that classy steakhouse environment. I had an extra dirty martini that was great! I started with a Caesar salad. I really expected more from it. The dressing was good, lettuce was crisp. But it looked like something I could make at home. I expected fresh finely grated parm but the cheese looked like it came from a container. I ordered a filet with truffle butter. Now this was delicious. That truffle butter took it to level 100000. For sides we got the lobster mac & cheese and the mushrooms. When the sides were brought out, the servers serve them into the plates. I would have preferred to serve these myself at the table. Especially because while attempting to serve the lobster mac, the server dropped a large chunk of lobster on the floor. I could have cried seeing it plummet to the ground. Dramatic, I know. Despite that loss, the sides were still very good. For dessert, we were talked into the warm butter cake and it was totally worth it. Highlight of the meal for sure, neck and neck with the truffle butter. It was heavenly. Sweet, gooey, with a cold vanilla ice cream in the center. The perfectly balanced dessert. read more

This is a spacious and beautifully decorated restaurant with multiple floors for seating. The wine list has a nice selection of glasses and bottles. The dinner rolls have a light touch of honey and butter making them slightly sweet and holding a nice texture without making them soggy. The house salad comes with bacon on it which is a nice touch. They do not offer a vinaigrette dressing which is a bit surprising. The sea bass was prepared with a nice crunch on top and well cooked. The fried rice was mainstream. The steak (not pictured) was a nice size and cooked perfectly to the request. We were too full for dessert. The staff was very nice and all signed the birthday card. read more

Thanks to Michael, our server, I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Del Frisco's. This is definitely one of those treat yo self meals and we had such a tasty steak dinner for 2. We started off with the Valentine's Day cocktail, calamari, and the lobster bisque for appetizers. We loved every dish. I am also still craving for their bread that they offer every table. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a great red wine pairing with our aged steak. Of course, the steak was the main show and every bite was delicious as expected - we ordered a medium rare 30 day aged ribeye (the kitchen split our steak into 2 since we didn't think we would finish ours individually and we also ordered the crab meat on top of the steak). I got the fancier sounding mashed potatoes and they were delicious but I wish I got the whipped mash potatoes instead. These were a bit too chunky for my liking. Interior is also really cool, dark, but modern. We were seated by the window into the rest of the building on the 2nd floor and we really enjoyed our corner we were sat at. Del Frisco's is a chain steakhouse restaurant that has locations in several states. My husband and I visited this particular restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh for dinner on a weekend. The seating hostess walked us to our table on time. Throughout our meal, the waiters served us promptly and courteously. The dinner menu listed appetizers such as caviar, steak tartare, octopus, and salads; entrees such as ribeye, Japanese A5 wagyu steak, scallops, king crab, lobster, and lamb; sides such as lobster macaroni and cheese and truffle French fries; and lots of alcoholic beverages such as cocktails and wines. Here are my husband's and my reviews for our foods and beverages: Bread rolls - $0 - 4 stars - These complimentary bread rolls were warm, moist, and buttery. Lobster bisque - $14 - 5 stars - This soup tasted rich and contained many chunks of lobster meat. Tuna sashimi - $26 - 5 stars - My husband ate this appetizer, and he described it as "really good." He said that he wanted "10 times as much"! He did pick out the chilis because he thought that they were too spicy. Crab-cake dinner - $54 - 3 stars - These crab cakes contained lots of crab but unfortunately also way too much red pepper and sauce. I ate about half of the crab cakes, and I would not order them in the future. Filet mignon - $63 - 4.5 stars - This 12-ounce filet mignon was cooked medium and was juicy. Sauce plate - $13 - 4 stars - Four sauces accompanied the filet mignon: bourbon peppercorn, chimichurri, horseradish cream, and béarnaise. My husband liked three of the sauces. Whipped potato side - $14 - 4.5 stars - These potatoes were thin and drippy, but they tasted very good. Broccolini side - $14 - 4 stars - This broccolini was roasted well and had a slightly lemony flavor. VIP drink - $17 - 4 stars - This vodka drink tasted like mandarin oranges and pineapples and was a bit sour. Blood-orange spritzer drink - $18 - 4 stars - This cocktail tasted orangey and sour. Tip: The dress code is "upscale." I wore a dress, and my husband wore dress pants and a polo shirt. He did notice people who were wearing jeans, but the website forbids very casual clothing such as tank tops, jerseys, and hoodies. read more

We had reservations for 8 people at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted warmly with hellos and live music. The ambiance is beautiful here. We were seated quickly and immediately greeted by our server Jake. He explained this favorites in the menu and explained portions. He was very attentive and we wanted not waited for anything. We had a variety of items from the menu. I had the Filet Mignon. It was cooked to perfection. This is the best steak I have ever had! We shared sides including the mashed potatoes, asparagus, lobster Mac n' cheese, truffle fries, and the mushrooms. All the sides were incredible. Of course, we had to order drinks. Large portions. Don't be fooled that VIP martini is smooth ... more than 1 could be disastrous. For appetizers, we had wedge salad, caprese salad, chilled lump crab, and bacon. The bacon was basted with molasses with a red hot pepper slice on each piece. [We ordered the bacon to go too.] Three of us ordered the bone in 16 oz filet. Since such a large piece of meat, there were some pieces under cooked. Otherwise, the meat melted in our mouths ... especially with the horseradish and bourbon sauces. Our forth member had the 8 oz filet. Again ... very pleased. For sides, we ordered potatoes au gratin, asparagus, and creamed spinach. We were disappointed to be served fibrous tree stumps (asparagus). For dessert, we ordered blood orange sorbet (3 scoops seasonal selection), a slice of cheesecake, a SLICE of lemon cake, and berries with whipped cream (???). This experience was fun but very very expensive. I loved how melt in your mouth the steak is. You can tell that it's quality cuts of meat. The truffle butter is so delish and they give you so much. We were there on Monday for a private event. The private rooms they have are a little strange in the fact that you have to go through one private room to get into the other one. That being said, Del Frisco's is probably my favorite of all the chain steakhouses in Pittsburgh. The bread is warm and lovely, the ribeye so flavorful, and desserts are delicious.
