Lovely spot for breakfast/brunch! Met a friend for an early breakfast on a Tuesday. The food is incredible! I had the steak and eggs and would go back to have it again for sure! The space is clean and cute. You order at the counter and your food is brought to you - which is perfect for both dine in and takeout/coffee to go. Our server was a little forgetful, but she was the only one working.

Surprised it has taken me this long to visit, but it has been hard to get over the Birchwood closing (rip). Had a lovely dinner with the Cashbars (and Atticus). Sat out on the patio and didn't go inside so I'm not sure about indoor ambiance, but the patio is so nice. Love the flowers all over. Our server was cutie and food came out pretty quickly. Ellie and I split the grilled ruby and the maitake tartine. Both were good. I liked the blush vinaigrette on the salad a lot. Was suprised how much I liked the grilled ruby, because I'm not normally much of a beet person, but with the avocado and all the pickled things it was very good. Lowkey I wolfed the maitake tartine down so fast I cannot remember a single thing about its taste. I was so hungry. Tried a little of the bucatini and thought it was a little bland.

Dutch baby with smoked trout

This might be our new favorite brunch spot. My go-to is a Dutch baby with smoked trout and my partner has enjoyed both the hash and the breakfast burrito. You order at the counter and seat yourself. The staff are kind and helpful. The tables are fairly close to each other, so I wouldn't recommend this as a spot to sit and read unless you can tune out neighbors. Their coffee is fine; it does the trick for a caffeine fix.

Brought the kids here for dinner last night. The experience was mostly good, with one big caveat (see below). The service was great; the server helped us find a place to sit that would be best for two kids, she was attentive, and the food came out pretty fast. The menu is small, but all of the options were appealing, and they also have a kids menu. They do label GF and Vegan (although not DF, but they will help you with what options do not have dairy). My daughter ordered the butter noodles kids meal and I had the fish fry, with my son sharing some of mine (he's 1). Everything tasted great; my daughter said the noodles were some of the best she has ever had. My fish fry was good too. The one major issue was the portion sizes...they were woefully small. My daughter could have easily eaten two bowls of the noodles, and she's only 4. I could have done with another piece of fish and more fries (my son did have a bit of mine, but even had he not, the meal would have still been too small. Sadly, I had to make both her and myself another meal when we got home. The ambiance was nice, and they have high chairs and a bar. Other than the portion sizes, everything was great, but the prospect of eating here once and then eating another meal back at home to fill up will likely keep us away in the future.

This place is popular, but we were able to grab a table. I got the breakfast burrito. It was good, but the aoli was much too garlicy for me. I was definitely warding off vampires for the rest of the day. I would get the sauce on the side if you order it.

We were looking for a breakfast place that was open at 7 am. The restaurant is located in a residential area. Plenty of street parking. The restaurant has a lot of seating (compared to the High Hat that we frequent). We ordered the Dutch Baby, breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo, and rose salad. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was very good.

We enjoyed lunch here with family. I had the corned beef hash. The meat was slightly chewy but still tasty. We also had the short rib sandwich with cheese. The coffees were very nice. Our family also enjoyed the breakfast burrito, waffle and avocado toast. Service was great. We had a great dining experience.

10 out of 10! The team at Darling delivered exceptional service one of a kind cocktails and a delicious heartwarming, soul satisfying citrus salmon dinner. This evening I had the smoked trout which was accompanied by pita fresh crispy veggies, comforting corn chowder, and filling citrus salmon. The salmon had a crisp skin and delightfully unctuous crispy sage leafs...do not miss this special. They are crushing it at Darling...#heartandsoul

Breakfast Burrito

Darling was very peaceful on an early Sunday morning. The breakfast burrito and the breakfast potatoes were delicious, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The eggs were also soft scrambled, which I appreciate! I would have liked some other toast options, but otherwise the breakfast was tasty and enjoyable. Love the pollinator garden out front of the restaurant too.

Darling is truly so darling! Went for a work breakfast with coworkers and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of parking outside and not busy at all for a Friday morning. It is a seat yourself, order at the counter type of place, but a quick and easy process. We each ordered a beverage, all of which were quite tasty! The vanilla latte was moldy sweet and creamy, very good espresso. The elixir drinks were funky and fun. The highlight of my experience was the waffle. Savory, sweet, crispy, and delicate. Upon ordering, it isn't what I would typically go for but the flavors just worked! Quinoa, sweet potatoes, cheddar cheese, maple butter, syrup, and pickled jalapeños. Definitely add bacon and an egg. All I've been able to think about it when do I get to go back for more. The potatoes were crispy and cooked well. Overall, such a satisfying experience.

Waffle. Added bacon and eggs and side of potato.

Order at the counter. Grab your number, silver ware, water, and then grab a table. Good food.

I feel like this location has been the home to many gems over the years, and Darling is no exception. I love this neighborhood, so walkable and filled with charming houses. There's lots of street parking, a beautiful large patio in the front, and inside is flooded with light. The chicken Caesar salad was a generous size to fill the plate, lightly dressed, and the chicken was moist and fresh. The falafel salad was definitely the best thing we ordered - generous falafel that was crispy and light, with flavorful tomatoes, and a cool creamy yogurt sauce - simple and perfect! The avocado toast would have been 10 times better if the toast had been crispy, but it was more like warm bread. The pumpkin seeds on top almost gave it the crunch it needed, but not quite. The servers were attentive and friendly, the coffee was delicious, and the menu is enticing. I can't wait to be back and try more things!

Dutch Baby with fresh fruit (opted out of the whipped cream)

Cute neighborhood spot. Order at the front and grab a table. The ahi verde sauce took the vegetarian chorizo breakfast burrito to another level!! My husband loved his omelette, and my daughter's Dutch Baby was outstanding - particularly with the real maple syrup. So glad we tried this place.

Excellent and varied breakfast menu. Ditto the lunch menu, and one of the best beet salads in the city. Highly recommended.

Wow! Restaurant Alma(not the cafe)…read moreCan't believe it's taken me years to visit here, I had an amazing 3 course dinner here with the wine pairings All the dishes were fantastic and my friend and I shared all of our dishes so we could experience most of the menu The service here was truly excellent from coat check to our server Miles who was super friendly and knowledgeable Everyone we encountered was so passionate about the food it made me feel good especially as the quality was so high! There wasn't anything I didn't like except dessert was not included in our meal so for extra $ we did split one and was delicious They did send me home with some mini coconut macaroons which was a nice touch Ambiance - was lovely sitting at the counter, restaurant was full but not crazy loud for a Saturday night! The menu changes seasonally so I'll be back in the fall to try that Parking- free street parking If your looking for a high quality tasting menu book here

It is very good. It may not be outstanding, hence the 4 stars…read more This is a review specifically for the restaurant side, and you're going to have to sort the cafe/hotel/restaurant ones. A lot was on point. They had super interesting wines by the glass, the appetizers were outstanding, my duck breast was served with a perfectly smoky pepper reduction, and it was fun watching the open kitchen. We also appreciated the creativity of the uni spaghetti we were served. They do a no tipping/hospitality included model, which is nice to know what you're getting. But also, a lot was a bit off. Water took 10 minutes to get even when all the waiters were waiting for the kitchen to plate the next course. Cocktails were uninspired, basically just the flavors of the classics but with extra price. Dessert was additional, and honestly I think if you're going to do a prix fixe (which I love), do it as appetizer-main-dessert. Said uni spaghetti was creative, but lacking in balance, especially compared to the pear-nduja bruschetta (lovely) and said duck breast. I walked out feeling not unhappy, but not anywhere near one of my best experiences.
