Visiting this place is like being transported out of Riverside and into BoujeeLand. The interior is modern, upscale, and visually appealing. The bar is cool and the open kitchen is a nice touch. The service is exemplary, attentive and polite. I felt like a VIP. A friend and I came for lunch. I started with a mocktail - the Strawberry Basil Refresher. Made with mashed strawberries, fresh basil, and mint with a bit of lime juice, simple syrup, and soda water, this drink was bright and refreshing. For lunch, I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo and added blackened chicken. The pasta was made perfectly and the alfredo sauce was to die for. The perfectly sculpted chicken pieces were only mildly blackened but they paired perfectly with the dish. Some delicious grilled brioche toast was included which I appreciated because I'm one of those guys who loves to use toast to sop up any leftover sauce in the bowl. The restaurant has its own parking lot so that's a big plus in downtown Riverside. We made reservations which I recommend because the dining area was rather full. read more

Started my afternoon at this spot to check out what the bar area was like and if they had any kind of happy hour. There was no special menu for it but we did see a great selection of wine and cocktails. We were not there for a full lunch just an appetizer and we selected the Sweet potato fries which were really good and tasted freshly cut; they were accompanied by 3 dipping sauces but I think a sweet dip instead of what tasted like a nacho cheese dip would of been more to my liking. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable, the ambiance is bright and very appealing but the bar area is limited so if you are like me and enjoy your meals and drinks at the bar this may not be the best but it is definitely worth the experience for quality alone. read more

We had such a wonderful lunch at Dapper & Dine today! Our server, Steph, was absolutely amazing--attentive, friendly, and so kind. I came in with my two young kids after church, and from the moment we walked in, I fell in love with the place. The decor is adorable--great colors, beautiful details, and such a welcoming vibe. The food was just as impressive. I had the codfish tacos, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My daughter ordered the chicken Alfredo, and wow--creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It was still a little early in the day for me to have a cocktail, but their craft cocktail menu looked incredible. I'm definitely planning to come back one evening to enjoy one. I was in the area and I found this new restaurant. I had no idea it literally just opened. As soon as we pulled up someone opened the door for us . The inside is beautiful the decor is so chic . The ambiance was everything . Liam was our waiter he was so nice and attentive. Everyone here was so friendly Angel is the one who opened the door for us when we came in and when we left he told us "thank you for coming ". So for service they go above and beyond. Now, when I'm here a time is to be had! The whole ambience reminds me of Princess Tiana. Very classy with nurturing servers. Every once in a while you'll see the owner speaking with guests and helping food get taken out. The drinks were mixed well, not too much alcohol and not too much juice. I was searching for hot and new on yelp in this location popped up. To our surprise, they had only been open for three weeks. The menu is creative and has a little something for everyone my husband absolutely loved his drink but thought it was a little bit weak. The jalapeño aïoli with the crabcake was good, the crabcake itself was a little heavy on the onion. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked. I'm not a fan of mint jelly (which is pretty old school) and would've appreciated some sort of sauce drizzled over rather than just the caramelized onion on the side. I really enjoyed the freshly made, seasoned chips and the salsa. The creole shrimp was tasty. Our waitress was really helpful and got my husband, a.k.a. the sauce, guy everything he wanted to try. The vibe felt upscale and I wished I was a little bit better dressed. I look forward to trying it again. This afternoon, I tried the Chilean sea-bass, with garlic purple mash potatoes and chimichurri sauce while my date had the wild mushroom hanging tender steak with a smoked blue cheese demi-glaze on a bed of sautéed wild mushrooms. Both dishes were presented beautifully. My seabass had an exceptional, flavorful sear with a beautiful glistening inside that flaked apart. I was very pleased with the fish. The potatoes were definitely garlic infused as advertised. Delish! The steak and sauce were good, but the fish definitely took the spotlight. Every time we come here for dinner they offer a seasonal cocktail menu that offers a variety of delicious choices. My only complaint was the main entree. We order the tequila cream sauce salmon with fingerling potatoes but subbed for mashed potatoes instead as they seemed to be a popular side . What we received was a huge disproportionate amount of bland potatoes that seemed to be thrown on to the plate with a huge piece of dry unseasoned salmon on top. Third Time's the (Almost) Charm at Dapper Dine & Lounge After three visits to Dapper Dine & Lounge, I feel like I've truly gotten to know what this place has to offer, and while my most recent experience left something to be desired, I still believe this restaurant is worth your time (with a few caveats). Let's start with my latest visit. Unfortunately, this one didn't live up to the high standard set by my first two. Our server seemed disinterested and borderline annoyed by our party of five. They offered no recommendations, checked in sparingly, and were noticeably more engaged with other tables. Ironically, it was the busboy who brought warmth to our table; checking in, chatting with us, and doing what the server didn't. Even getting the bill felt like pulling teeth, and the place wasn't even busy. That said, I want to be fair. My previous two visits were truly delightful. The atmosphere is inviting, with a stylish and modern decor that sets the tone for a great meal. There's plenty of space between tables, so conversations remain private and relaxed. The staff (on my first two visits) were accommodating, friendly, and knew the menu well. Speaking of the menu: the food is generally solid. Portions vary depending on the dish; some are hearty, others a bit light.....but everything has been consistently hot, fresh, and well-plated. I highly recommend the Dapper King Salmon, Steak Nachos, and Sea Bass. These dishes hit the mark in both flavor and presentation. Now, let's talk dessert. The Apple Pie; oh, the Apple Pie! On my first two visits, it was an absolute standout: flaky crust, perfectly spiced apples, and served warm enough to melt your worries away. Just be prepared to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for it--it's worth it. Or... it was. On my third visit, it arrived burnt, which was a major letdown after my previous experiences. So, would I still recommend Dapper Dine & Lounge? Yes; but with some notes. The environment and food (most of the time) are excellent, but consistency in service and quality needs attention. A couple friends and I went here for brunch the other day. The food was good, the atmosphere is nice. But there were some things that really irked me, which is why I gave only three stars. The hostess was a little standoffish and awkward with me and ignored me when I asked for a highchair for the baby. Then when I ordered fried egg whites, our waiter smirked and told me, "They don't do that". I know it seems petty, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The menu said "eggs any style". I have never had a problem ordering egg whites anywhere else. We all thought he was joking at first. Then he said the best he could do was over-hard and I could cut the yolks out. Is that not so stupid? Believe me, I love yolks, but they don't love me. They give me stomach issues. Even my friend told him that (because I was too nervous to say anything honestly), but he didn't respond. Is it really so hard for the chef to separate the yolk? I'm not asking for something difficult or time consuming and I'm still paying for the whole egg. I really hate asking for special accommodations and I hate to be a "Karen" but I thought this was simple enough. The "don't do egg whites"? Am I missing something here? That just threw me for a loop. And they took a very long time to bring over a cappuccino even though they weren't busy at all at that point. I think it's just a weird service problem there. read more

Butter cake came out over-baked. The bottom and top layer were too rough that the only equalizer of the texture was the ice cream as it soaks the pastry. Other than that, nothing special. My server was attentive. Another server came up to me and asked how the butter cake was. I explained why, yet he argued that it's "the best dessert" they have. I'm certain they could've responded differently. Overall, mid-level food. Ambiance makes up for some of it. read more

Hada reservation asking for a nice table which they did provide us the perfect little corner booth with a nice ambience. The lighting was low but not too dark. Unfortunately, the service was subpar. Waited almost 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and get water to our table. Water was also never refilled even as we ordered several rounds of food. We sat down around 7:45 but it seemed like they were already getting ready to close up by 8:30. The food was paced out well and came out at a good time. Unfortunately, our server just seemed pretty inattentive to us even though the place didn't seem to busy by that point. She came around our table a couple of times but didn't check in with us at any point of our meals. We were left waiting for the check after our plates had already been cleared for 10 minutes. We did try the cocktails on their list which is their specialty. I think we just prefer the classics. They do make great martinis. They serve prime rib on Mondays and that looked like a generous portion. The ahi nachos were very good and great for sharing. The pastas were just okay. Great portions but the noodles were generic and I felt the style of cooking the chicken could be altered. Service went well. It was busy. The manager came by the table multiple times and you could really feel they are invested in the restaurant doing well. Our server did forget a few things we asked for twice but it wasn't a big deal. For the upscale feel of the restaurant, service could be more streamlined. The music was great not too loud which allowed you to be able to talk with friends. I would return here to give it a few more shots. This would be my place to bring someone to impress. The only thing if I am being completely honest is this place is up against the quality of Citrone in Redlands...same price point and great atmosphere but they are more invested it seems in their kitchen and quality of food/drinks.
