I came here for a Sade-themed tribute night, and the whole evening was great. ProAbition has a cool vintage speakeasy vibe that made live music feel just right, and the band was fantastic. For dinner, I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked just right (medium rare), tasted great, and went really well with the crispy fries. For dessert, I tried the chocolate lava cake. It was rich and heavy, maybe even a little too chocolatey by itself, but the ice cream on the side was cold and creamy, which balanced out the sweetness perfectly. The bar deserves a special mention. I had whiskey sours all night, and the bartenders made them just right. They were well-balanced, smooth, and not watered down or too sour. With the live music, good drinks, and tasty food, it turned out to be a really memorable night in downtown Riverside. I'd definitely recommend this place for dinner and a show. read more

Absolutely loved our experience at ProAbition! We came in for their Sade-themed live jazz dinner, and the entire evening was such a vibe. The Sade-inspired cocktails were such a creative touch -- they even added an edible Sade stamp to the drinks, which was SO cute and made them feel extra special! The live band was exceptional and really brought the whole experience together. The atmosphere, music, food and drinks made for such a memorable night. On top of that, the service was excellent! Our waiters were attentive and welcoming, and even the owner took the time to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Such a unique experience in Downtown Riverside. I've frequently come here to eat and just realized this trip that I've never actually done a review! This particular experience was great from start to finish. Cesar, the bartender, took great care of us while we waited for our table. My sister had wine, and Cesar made me a refreshing cucumber martini & it was so delicious... I had two! DJ, the Manager, was very attentive and made sure we felt welcomed. Melissa our hostess made sure our food was prepared perfectly, including getting us that extra glaze sauce for our salmon. By the way, the salmon was seasoned to perfection! The ambiance was lively, sexy, and cool, perfect for a date night, sister's night, or ladies' outing. I came in here with my daughter and mom for dinner on a Wednesday evening. It's a bar/lounge that has repurposed itself as a restaurant as well. The waitress introduced herself within 5 minutes of being seated but then we just sat and sat ... We waited for nearly 20 minutes then finally the busser came over with some waters. Then we continued to wait another 15 minutes before the waitress came over to take our orders. The food was good but nothing special, the prices are on the higher side for bar food. The pulled pork sliders were on the dry side. The cocktail was good. Overall, it's expensive for bar food, cool atmosphere, drinks are good, waitress was nice but slower than molasses. read more

Social media absolutely captured me for the drake brunch. I am a certified lover girl so I was excited to see what proabitions idea of a "champagne papi" brunch. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised! I could hear the Drake music blaring as I was walking up the street. I knew off the bat it was going to be a good time. They had a cool Drizzy photo opp at the front and provided free photos which was a really nice touch. The hostess was really kind and seated us immediately. Heads up reservations are a must for this event! So follow their IG for dates. Otherwise, once we were seated we were given a Drake themed menu. Absolutely ICONIC! I wanted to order all the drinks! The only thing that fell short was the service. Our drinks took forever to arrive. Although we placed our drink order first they came after our food. Had to remind our server once our food arrived where our spritz tree was. We also ordered two shots for $26. Our server completely forgot and we had to also remind her again after we ate and finished everything. Once we got the shots we asked for the bill and she charged us for 4 shots. I have visited this establishment multiple times, and each time it has taken me well over an hour to get there, but more than worth it every. Single. Time. Not only is the wait staff amazing (thank you Brendan, again and again), management excels (JD is my guy!), but the food and the drinks are better than expected. If you're looking for an espresso martini that is delicious, not like drinking a Bailey's bomb, and settles just right... This is the place to go. And the food... This is not normal bar food; I highly recommend the tacos and the french fries! And the crowd is everything... From bachelorette parties to families eating with their kids... It's the place to be. I truly wonder what this place looks like at nighttime. I went with a party of 4 and ordered the pulled pork eggs benedict. It was flavorful and definitely something that I would order again if I went back. It was a nice option for the benedict as I haven't seen this offered at other brunch spots. Staff are friendly, however, could have been more attentive. It was difficult to get a hold of our waitress at times. What's really neat is they have staff coming around with a professional camera taking photos. They then develop them and place it into a cute frame for you to keep! We were the only ones without dinner, and by the time the show ended, we still hadn't received anything... When we asked our server about it, the only solution offered was to take it to-go..? At that point, we didn't even want the food.. They didn't accommodate us in any way for the inconvenience, even though it was their mistake. Our intention was to enjoy dinner at the restaurant, not take it home after the show was already over.... We were so disappointed that there wasn't a better resolution to the situation. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine and it was quite bland and flavorless. I had to put salt and pepper just to give some flavor. My gf ordered a salad and no complaints on that. We also ordered two glasses of wine and there was a BUG in her glass. They refunded us the one glass but I didn't feel like drinking mine either so wasted 15.00 there. Today was Taco Tuesday so I decided to eat the famous Rib Eye Tacos and the Fried shrimp Tacos. So freaking good!

We were trying to figure out what we wanted to eat and so headed downtown Riverside and as we were walking around, we came up on prohibition. It was lively, so we thought let's come in and get something to eat. Service was great up into a certain point, and after that things went downhill, I ordered the chicken and waffles. My daughter ordered the chiliquiles. The chicken and waffles arrived to the table cold and when I asked for warm syrup so that I could, it could melt the butter. It took 10 minutes and me asking twice before I got it by then I was over it because the food was even colder by that time. The vibe in the atmosphere is great just the service and the food we're not up to par I did order a drink, which was a Mojito, but it was made so poorly. I had to send it back. I feel like if you can't make a cocktail then you shouldn't have it on the menu or say that you can't make It. read more

I was ready for our monthly friends' brunch, so I headed out to visit a friend in Riverside. We went to a great spot called ProAbition (yes, with a capital A!) and made reservations--which I highly recommend, especially for brunch. We went on an 80s-themed brunch day, with non-stop 80s hits playing from open until 3 PM. Yes, I'm old school and yes, I love the 80s--please don't judge me! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive. We were seated promptly and felt well taken care of. The indoor dining area is spacious, with tables that can accommodate up to 15 guests. There's also a generous patio area, and the bar is impressively long--seating about 20 people. They also host private events. Sidenote for the ladies: the bar has purse hooks, which is such a thoughtful touch! And if you can't find one or need help with it, the staff is more than happy to assist. Now onto the drinks and food! Their signature cocktails are fantastic. I had the Lavender Lemon Drop--perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with just the right hint of lavender. My friend ordered the Monster -a hearty breakfast plate with excellent potatoes. You can add additional eggs if you'd like. I went for the Brussels sprouts, expecting a small appetizer portion, but they came out in a massive bowl--definitely shareable or enough to fill you up on their own. The space also offers lots of great photo ops, including a fun Instagram mirror. One small downside: the restroom area is tiny--only two stalls--so expect a line. Also, be aware that parking nearby can be pricey and limited. Some lots charge up to $30, so plan accordingly and wear comfy shoes for a little walk. Overall, the music was amazing, the vibe was fun, and I highly recommend checking it out! read more
