Came here for girls brunch and was disappointed, we all ordered omelettes and the potatoes was mostly bell peppers. To their credit the peppers were seasoned and cooked excellently but there were hardly any potatoes in the mix. Also, for a $17 omelette it should come with toast. Coffee was great, although not sure if $6 for drip is fair. I also eyed the chilaquiles but again, cost doesn't seem appropriate ($27 for chicken chilaquiles). A gem in the heart of Riverside! Nice place, great service, very delectable food! I am impressed with the variety of the menu, from appetizers to the main course, also the drink menu was also interesting! The only this is the loud noise/music... I guess because it's a lounge restaurant, people get to have loud conversations above the music to make themselves heard. Not a good place to have a sweet romantic dinner ( you can't hear each other well) but it's good for parties that's ready to party ! My wife and I were looking to go somewhere to celebrate our anniversary and we ran into this place by accident but what a great experience. From the moment we arrived the manager greeted us and made his way to share our hands and look us in the eye with a genuine smile. He greeted every guest this way and it truly made us feel welcomed. Especially since I was in shorts and sandals they didn't make me feel less. Ambience is definitely upscale and somewhat fancy so next time I'll make sure to dress up. The tequila shrimp cream pasta was so good, 10/10! Our ribeye was also good but it was cooked a little over than our preference for medium rare. It came with a side and we picked the mac & cheese, honestly one of the best mac & cheese i've ever tried from a restaurant! Both inside and outside seating was very nice and clean. Had lunch here, very disappointed the service was good, but the food, not so good. First off, the poke appetizer and beet salad were both good. The linguine seafood pasta with lemon sauce was stale with refrozen seafood while the fish and chips was the worst I've had, not fresh too, salty and tasted reheated. What a wonderful surprise! Great ambiance, stellar service and the food? Out of this world! I had the stuffed baked potato which is an appetizer but it was big enough for a meal and absolutely delicious. One of us has hanger steak and fresh mushrooms. This was fabulous! Approximately 5 servers, 1 host, 1 manager, and not one came over to offer us water or just say hello. About 15-20 minutes later I had to send smoke signals, wave my hands in the air, and then the manager came over. He deeply apologized and immediately brought out the water, offered us an appetizer and from there the service was awesome. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos which are a good choice with some champagne that hubby ordered. Along with the sea bass and salmon, the dishes were delicious. The ambiance was pretty quiet. My dining experience overall was fair. It could have used some easy improvements. First, I was greeted by the manager, replete with a firm handshake and smile. My server, a young lady named Juliette, did a wonderful job. She was prompt, polite, friendly, and responded to my every request. The atmosphere was impeccable and contemporary. My food was underwhelming. My only complaint was the fettuccine's Alfredo sauce: it was awfully bland--not a hint of garlic--and it lacked viscosity, very runny. I have had far better Alfredo sauce in other venues. I did not finish the pasta. I am not used to having mediocre food in such a pricey restaurant. My test is that the least expensive entre on a menu should be as appetizing as the most expensive! I will not slam the other dishes because I have yet to try them. Furthermore, the food served nearest me smelled good and I like to everything a second chance. I will give Dapper another shot to fix the dang Alfredo sauce. Perhaps more heavy cream and garlic in the mother sauce would course-correct things? My dessert, butter cake, was a generous portion and delicious! I was unable to finish it, but not for lack of quality. Juliette, your recommendation was splendid. In short, I will return to try Dapper again. Super sad to have been as disappointed as I am. All around poor experience. We came for an afternoon date after being really excited to check this spot out. We walked into a very empty restaurant which is great because we know they get very busy. Initially the greeting was great and the style and decor of the restaurant is very visually appealing. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a raspberry mint mule. The mule was delicious, the Bloody Mary was pretty underwhelming, just a standard Bloody Mary which is fine, I just expected a bit more after seeing how stunning their other drinks are. I ordered a blackened chicken Cesar salad which was my first mistake, I should have ordered a signature dish but I wasn't in the mood for something heavy quite yet. My husband got the blackened chicken and rice and it was decent, but again there are more appealing things on the menu. My food came out wrong, I ordered blackened chicken and was given grilled chicken. It was VERY dry and not appetizing. The server did attempt to make it right and get the new chicken but by the time it came out my husband was done with his meal. I watched the manager touch every table but ours, I finally had to approach him because I was just overall disappointed (I typically won't do this) but I was irritated because the service was not great for having only 5 tables total sat in the restaurant. I asked for extra Bloody Mary mix about 5 times since my drink really needed a little more flavor and my request was forgotten until the last time. I was extremely disappointed that my salad was only comped 50%. I removed all of the grilled chicken off of my salad and gave it back to the server and when I gave the dish to the manager with the new chicken it was barely touched (see photo for reference.) Overall I hope this is an opportunity for them to do better. I was really disappointed and our food was just ok. I went to The Dapper in Riverside this past Friday afternoon with my fiancé. Parking was easy, though most of it is valet. Since we didn't have a reservation, we sat outside -- it was a really hot day but luckily the service made up for it. Our server (I wish I remembered her name!) was wonderful -- super attentive, friendly, and helpful. My fiancé had a glass of Cabernet, and I ordered a rum-based cocktail called the Coquito -- both were excellent. For food, my fiancé ordered the Beef Skirt Tacos (Tender Skirt Steak, Cilantro, Onions, Salsa, and Sliced Red Radish). He absolutely loved them -- flavorful, well-seasoned, and the meat was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Poke Nachos (Diced Ahi Tuna, Sriracha Aioli, Jalapeños, Red Onion, Cucumbers, Avocado, Green Onions). I asked for mine without spice (no spicy mayo and no jalapeños), and they nailed it. The poke was fresh, the portion was generous, and the flavors + textures worked so well together -- I'm literally craving it again as I write this. The atmosphere is great, the food is on point, and service makes you feel taken care of. I'm definitely coming back. Next time, I already know I'm trying the Butter Cake (served with wild berry compote and vanilla bean ice cream) and maybe even their brunch, which sounds amazing. Date night vibes for sure. It wasn't too busy here for being a weekday. My husband and I decided to come here since it was something new in the area. We sat at the bar we ordered a few drinks and chips and salsa while we waited for our friends. I ordered a Georgia Peach something (forgot the name) but I didn't realize it was carbonated. Thank you the bartenders who were so kind to make changes to the drink. The food here was amazing! We ordered. -jambalaya with rice -chicken piccata -rib eye with garlic mash -tender steak with wild mushrooms Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The parking lot itself is small since it is shared with the bank. The restaurant is located right off the freeway and across the street from the old spaghetti factory. There's also parking on the street as well. They do get busy on the weekend so I would highly recommended to make reservations before coming. Great ambiance, good food, but they destroyed our reservation in a rude manner! The main dining room has a great vibe. The outer area is an enclosed patio with boring lighting and dull flooring, also super loud. A huge step down from the main dining room. There are other reviews about the volume in this establishment. The Bad: After a nice first visit with a buddy on a Saturday night (it was packed), I wanted to bring my wife back on the upcoming Tuesday night for her birthday, so I stopped at the Hostess counter to make a 7pm reservation. No problem. I told the girl I wanted to sit indoors in the main dining area. It has the prime ambiance and was quieter that night. She asked if we had any seating preferences, and even suggested a nice corner table near the bar/front door. I was surprised they offered table reservations, so that was a nice plus. Done deal. We arrived on Tuesday right on time, and I dropped my wife off at the door since the parking lot is always full, so I parked across the street at Spaghetti Factory. When I arrived at Dapper, I did not see my wife sitting in the corner booth. I told the Hostess my reservation name and she stated my wife was sitting in the indoor patio area. Oh great! I informed her that I made the reservation specifically for the main indoor area, and I was told we had the corner booth reserved. She rudely said, "All dining is indoors" (not true), and our corner table was set up for a larger party. It was embarrassing and humiliating, and put me in a real crappy mood. I was pissed! A proper "so-called" upper-scale restaurant would have stood by my reservation, or at least offered an alternative table in the main area that I desired and reserved. This was on December 30, 7pm, and the girl was heavy-set with glasses. She possessed zero customer service manners/skills at all. Like she wanted to prove she is Boss Lady. Our table was slammed against a huge wall, and lacked any level of fine ambiance. Total buzz-kill. Also, this place is loud, making conversation very difficult. The Good: I've only had the Blackened Chicken with Rice and Veggies, and it is excellent. My wife ordered the same and loved it. She especially loved the rice. I also ordered a side of garlic toast, and it was also very good. The service was spot on, attentive, and fast during both visits. Even with a packed house. Will I be back? That's questionable. Not a fan of the indoor patio, loudness, and poor Hostess service from that visit. I'm jaded. Note, the bar is also small with around 10 seats. Angel the Manager is excellent, attentive to the patrons, and makes sure tables are set correctly. Too bad he was off that Tuesday night. I should also mention that the bathroom plumbing used to be awful when this establishment was Sam's Bann Tai. Now they smell clean. Nice job. read more

Very lovely location with lots of marked parking . When we were seated it was at a small two person table ( not a booth/half booth as requested in the reservation). Our server was very nice and had great recommendations . We opted for monkey business ( painkiller style , extra sweet) and a banana maple sour ( also very sweet ). The chicken fettuccini was good but bland ( I should have opted for the blackened chicken but we were told it was spicy.) For dessert we ordered the butter cake and it was very delicious . Looking forward to trying some other drinks ( this drink menu has lots of very crafted options and it looks like a lot of thought went into it ) and a different entree next time . Speaking about my experience I would not recommend this place. Terrible service and I assume it was based on how we looked. Came here for a birthday dinner with a reservation. Was sat at the table on time with the party. Absolutely nobody from the wait staff approached the table to offer any service. I carefully observed the staff approach all the tables around ours ver pleasantly. My table wafull of black individuals sitting in the restaurant waiting to be acknowledged. Not until 25 minutes later I got up from my seat frustrated at the lack of service. The manager, Angel, apologized but by that time the damage had been done and my experience had already been altered. My review is stand alone for food. The service and the ambiance were great, but would not come back because the food was mid. Like I said in my above review, food is what keeps a patron coming back for more. I'm a simpleton. I expect a lot of flavor and quality when paying close to $100 for food. I ordered the filet mignon with purple garlic mashed potatoes and my husband ordered the fettucine alfredo with chicken. My filet was dry as I cut into it. I ordered medium and it came out almost well done. There was slight pink in the middle. It was also tough, I had to really saw it to cut it with the steak knife. With filets, I can usually use the butter knife to cut. It was not seasoned and came with some sort of bleu cheese gravy on the side, nothing to hit home about. The purple garlic mashed potatoes were dry. I could taste the garlic, but it lacked the buttery-fluffy melt in your mouth component of mashed potatoes. Chili's has better taste than this filet. Now, I ate it. I did not complain to the waitress. It was 7:30pm on a Saturday night. She was busy and I didn't feel like being a giant PIA. My husbands fettucine alfredo with chicken was bland. The alfredo sauce was garlicky, but lacked the creaminess factor. The chicken was also just chicken. It had 0 flavor whatsoever and was just tossed on the grill without even the slightest bit of salt and pepper. He didn't finish it (which is a very hint that the food was subpar) Again, we did not complain to the server. This isn't the night to be a giant pain in the a$$. We paid for our food, tipped our server, and will not be back. I mean, the place is very busy. That is what we need for Riverside. Ultimately, make the food taste better and I would come back. We came on Friday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. A party of 16 (17 actually). We were set up in an interior alcove, that acted like a private room. Two tables of 8 +1. It was most of our first visit so it was fortuitous they put us in a confined space as we tend to get louder as we get happier and fed well. It was a great space! The extensive menu gave so many options, all chef level for presentation, quality and portion. I started with my favorite fine dining cocktail, a Sapphire Bombay martini with three bleu cheese stuffed olives. The pour was nice and strong and tasty. The kicker was the olives, more specifically, the bleu cheese used to stuff them. Stilton, Maytag, Roquefort, Gorgonzola or some other exotic cheese. I asked but didn't get a clear description. I will pursue it next time in. Around the table were glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon, and a variety of cocktails including Moscow mules, sweet tea and Shirley Temples. Again an extensive list of appetizers, we chose the crab cakes. 2 good sized patties, crispy outside, soft and moist, lumpy crab interior. Well done! Around the tables I saw the poke nachos, the chicken wings (spicy and thoroughly cooked), shrimp cocktail and a mountain of french fries. Since the time we were sat, we have been consistently visited by wait staff to fill water and answer any menu questions. I love the touch of the water glasses with the punt bottoms. Sarah took all of orders, smoothing the process for us with our combination of ages and palates. She is worth the price of admission. I had the fish tacos (3) for my main meal. Each taco had two small corn tortillas, two slender crispy fish fillets, with cabbage and a spicy jalapeño sauce. Surprisingly authentic and filling. The birthday girl had the jambalaya pasta. It looked like Mardi Gras in a large bowl. Shrimp, chicken and sausage. She said it was spicy, flavorful and tasty. Around the tables we ordered everything from chicken sandwiched to rib eye steaks. The visual star of the show were the purple garlic mashed potatoes. Bright and colorful with a familiar flavor. The taste was described as mild or bland. No matter how full we are, we must finish with butter cake! We passed it around for all to try and it was excellent. Rivaled the one at Mastro's. All in all a delightful experience. Even the bill was smooth and seamless. All done table side. Compliments to the chef, but the night belonged to Sarah and the coordinated serving staff. Chef's kiss!!! My personal review of the Dappers, Mac n cheese nothing but amazingly good. Make sure you stir your Mac well to get the sauce. I has bacon added to my side order that looked more like a main dish size. Let's talk drinks and well they cater to all with alcohol n mock-tail, perfect balance. My only meh oppsy was I was served my appetizer first before my drink. In general I do prefer having my drink first while taking in the ambulance.
