This is the lobby bar of The mission inn hotel. It's situated in between two restaurants with a lot of cozy seatings. We usually get some drinks and snack food at the bar before our dinner or brunch. The blood orange cosmo is the best specialty cocktail here. We usually go for grey goose dirty martinis and Courvoisier neat. Sometimes they don't have grey goose for some reason. I've been wanting to visit this spot for a while, and tonight we finally made it happen. It was extremely crowded, but the staff was still very attentive, which we truly appreciated. Allyson and Steffan, the General Manager, were both so welcoming. This review is based on our drinks -- we ordered a Lemon Drop Martini and an Orange Blossom Martini, and both were very good. There was also a pianist performing, which added a nice touch, though it was a bit hard to hear and hold a conversation due to the holiday rush. Overall, we loved the ambiance and would definitely return. Just keep in mind that seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. read more

Very charming, spacious bright lounge. It can be nosy since it big, the echos can be carry out. There is the bar sitting and the living room like sitting. I tried both and I like the bar since you have direct access with the friendly & nice bartenders and easy order with quick turn around. But it can be noisy plus chatty w/ people around you if you are not into it. The living room style area is more quiet and relax but the waitperson can be busy so that is the con part. The foods is just typical bar type and not bad at all and on the high end. The drinks are just great,margaritas is their best bet unless you have your drinks then they will crafted for you. Overall, friendly and nice place to hangout and chill before heading out or checking in for the night. read more

Very impressed with the service. Megan was a great cocktail waitress. Was there for the presidential lounge but apparently the AC was broken for more than a week. So after trying to refer the hotel to my friend's HVAC company so they can come and fix it right away with no response, we moved to the California lounge with the AC. The waitress went extra miles to make the cocktail the way my date wanted. Great experience. If you wanna get laid, highly recommend the spot. Pick the side soft couch spot read more

Very nice surprise to see a new lounge at the Mission Inn. They have great small bites and beverages and you get to people watch near the lobby!! ;) SERVICE: Great! Attentive and friendly. Honestly, this bar is nice and the drinks were good but service was awful last time I came so felt compelled to write about it. Came on a Monday night, very empty but the staff was arguing about who should wash glasses and doing so right next to my friend as I as we tried to enjoy our drinks. The lounge was empty, take this conversation anywhere else. The lady who seemed like the manager of the restaurant on the inner patio came to the bar and started talking to the only bartender very loudly about how she is responsible for the glassware in the restaurant and has to wash them. The bartender proceeded to share how she felt that was unfair. I tried to stare the manager lady down to give her some indication of how rude she was being and what an awful environment she was making for customers. Just because there were not many customers does not mean you behave this way. We came to this spot cause it's supposed to be nice. I was sitting right next to my friend and couldn't concentrate on our conversation because of how loud and rude they were being. Then two more people from the restaurant side came over at different times and continued to talk about glassware. Like you guys are a restaurant you should know how to take care of dishes. Also, there were so many wait staff waiting around in the restaurant and they could be seen from the bar, it looks ridiculous to fight about who needs to wash dishes when so many people are doing nothing. It was like 20 mins till last call but my friend was afraid of even asking to get another drink because the attitudes were so shitty. Even so, the drinks were still nice. Horrible service. Not timely at all. Waited 25 minutes just for a waitress to come even at a slow paced time in the week and evening.

Again I order a glass of wine $15 and they were serving in a 2 buck chuck Denny's glass. The owners if the mission in own a winery in Oregon. They should know better. To top it off if you order red wine it's not refrigerated and you have to add ice cubes to the glass of red to bring it down to the correct serving temperature. I love coming to the California Lounge. The service is always excellent! The food is great too! I always get the truffle fries. The cheese board was beautifully put together was also very good. One server for the whole lounge, although the bartender took our order, after I approached him at the bar. More staff is needed! The kitchen service was beyond slow...glacial. When my mussels w fries arrived, after waiting at least a half-hour, the bowl was filled w mussels on the half-shell ON TOP OF the soggiest fries I've ever seen. Had to ask for flatware and a napkin. No empty bowl for shell discards. I spoke w the Kitchen Manager and Chef to express my great dissatisfaction w their supposed 4-diamond rating. Never order this dish!!
