This place is so awesome, and the food is amazing! I reached out to Meaghan about their catering menu, and she definitely knows how to help make an event great! My organization was hosting a 30-person luncheon, and she helped us figure out what would work best for us and made amazing recommendations. She was constantly available to answer questions, even after we had booked the catering event. We ordered the French toast, chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, and breakfast tacos, and everything was amazing! Our attendees absolutely raved about the food. We kept getting questions about where the restaurant was located because people wanted to go eat there themselves! They also went above and beyond by neatly labeling each individual dish, which helped our event run so smoothly. The attendees really appreciated how organized everything was, especially the labels, and they provided more than enough individually packaged salsa for everyone. The quality of the food was awesome, and we will definitely be looking forward to working with Fire Up Grill again in the future! The last time I was here was a couple of months ago for a doctors appointment. Downtown Riverside must have their hot spots in the evening but during the daytime, it's pretty mellow. Or maybe where I've been. This place is along the downtown strip like their main street area. Both times I've been, it was pretty mellow during the week. Seems to be more of business people walking around versus the locals here and there. Im thinking the weekend, this area gets lively with locals out and about. And the nightlife coming out. Anyway, we had a little time to kill before the appointment and lunch was calling. This area has covered parking in the structure as well as street parking. It's paid as well with the kiosk nearby. We stopped by before 2pm, still lunch time but the place was pretty quiet. The lunch crowd must have passed. There was maybe two other tables utilized. Restaurant itself isn't that big with majority of the seating is outside on the patio. Inside is smaller. Of course with the heatwave going on, they did have the mister on full blast. It was nice but with the fan as well, we did get a little soaked...lol... We had the same waitress that took care of us last time, Mackenzie. I remember her name this time. She was the sweetest and most accommodating. Made sure that whatever we needed was taken cared of. Amazing customer service and very friendly. I didn't know they had a lunch menu as I alway thought they were all the same. Price wise was great and very affordable. Beforehand, chips and salsa were brought out. Nice warm chips and a mild salsa. Quite tasty to start. Even with this heatwave, ramen was calling and they have barria ramen. That's a must as it was much enjoyed the last time. Also the fish tacos meal which I must say was massive. Big pieces of fish, two of them and served with a side of rice and beans. It's a massive meal if you're hungry. Both dishes were great and flavorful. Extra salsa was brought out which was spicy habaneros. If you like heat, that will do. The service was great and the food was delicious. Came here on a Friday night as a friends request. We sat outside where there was a DJ, such a vibe! It was definitely hot but they had multiple fans on full blast. Service was AMAZING and fairly quick even with it being a Friday night. Drinks were an absolute SMASH! We got Mexican candy shots that were delicious & had a mango margarita. Those margaritas were surprisingly strong & soo good! Only reason it's getting 4/5 stars is because my quesabirria tacos I felt were dry and lacking flavor. This is my 3rd visit here at Fire Up Grill and let me say it's always been 5 STARS. My friends and I decided to meet up with our coworkers since we have all retired. I spoke and texted with Manager Meghan to let her know that on Sept 9th at 9:30am they'll be approximately 18 people dining in. Meghan made sure that the tables would be arranged to seat 18 people. There's only patio seating unless you go inside and sit at the bar. It was 95 degrees at the patio but the did have a huge fan above one table. This place was cool. GREAT STAFF. There's a Hawaiian guy here who seems to be bar captain pushing out some great flavors on the fly. It's packed and seating is limited. I got a variety of hand foods but the Birria ramen sticks out as a good buy. When I had hit the spacey zone, the twilight zone, the Birria ramen grounded me and brought me back. Very cool setting right in downtown. The patio is setup well and had a dj setup on a Saturday morning for brunch. The inside is small but still really nice. We sat at the bar. I just tried Fire Up's new little coffee spot, Cafecito, and what a lovely surprise it was! I ordered the Spanish latte with vanilla cold foam, and you can truly taste the quality. They use real vanilla bean, and you can even see the tiny specks in the foam, which made it feel extra special. The drink was perfectly balanced not too sweet, just smooth and delicious. Ashley was such a sweetheart and really helped me decide by asking all the right questions about what I like. It's so nice when someone takes the time to make sure you get exactly what you want. Wow... I can't believe we slept on Fire Up Bar & Grill for so long... this brunch was phenomenal We started with the Café de Olla... perfectly spiced... hot... and delicious. Then we shared the Jefe Platter and it was nothing short of amazing. Jess loved the chorizo tacos... I couldn't get enough of the burrito... and honestly every single item stood out. The chilaquiles were a knockout with just the right amount of heat... the papas were crispy and addictive... and the birria was rich and flavorful A special shoutout to our server Darren who went above and beyond. I asked about a margarita flight I'd seen on Yelp that came out on a flaming platter... but since we don't drink I wondered if they could do a mocktail version. Darren's eyes lit up and he said "I have just the thing!" Minutes later a flaming tray arrived with the most beautifully decorated agua frescas... watermelon... piña... cucumber limón... and an incredible horchata with coconut crème. That horchata stole the show especially with the mazapán rim. We raved about it so much that Darren brought us another one on the house And to top it all off... we were shocked at how reasonable the bill was for such a massive and high quality spread From the food to the service... Fire Up Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. If you've been sleeping on this place like we had... wake up and get here for brunch! My only constructive feedback (and this is in no way a complaint to the restaurant) but the city had power washers out causing racket while they cleaned the sidewalks out front.
