    3/4 iced latte
    Jc G.

Coffee has gone from a 10 out of 10 to about an 8 over the last few years. I get that my iced latte comes with ice, but there is no need to overload it when I did not ask for extra. After just a few sips, it is basically gone. Customer service has also taken a step back. It used to feel personal. Baristas would remember your name, know your order, and actually make you feel welcome. Lately, it feels like that level of care is missing. On top of that, a customer in front of me was asking about food prices because there were none listed on the menu. The barista did not know. That situation could have been easily avoided with clear pricing! It is the small things that make a big difference.

    $17.33 Turkey sandwich

Stumbled upon this place to kill some time between an appointment I had. Place was tucked in between many miscellaneous business. Clean and nice ambiance. No big menu to pick from just a piece of paper on the counter. No prices listed either. I chose to order a turkey sandwich with a cup of water. $17.33. Need I say more? I was stunned but paid anyways because I was already there. I thought to myself " This sandwich better take me to a different dimension... maybe Gordon Ramsey was secretly creating masterpiece sandwiches and selling em here... Maybe it gives me wings? I got called up and lo and behold this is what I get. Something that resembled a hospital cafeteria sandwich. Bread, turkey, spring mix, mayo, and onion. I shed a tear and ate every last crumb because I'l be damned if I leave $1.35 in lettuce in the container. This coulda been 2 double doubles and fries from in n out...Chilis you pick 3... instead I got sadness. Thanks Lift coffee you ruined my day and possibly my entire week.

Lift is a cute place and I'd definitely come back for the pastry and maybe to give the other items another try. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the matcha. It wasn't strong enough and the Madeleine cold foam overpowered any other flavor in the drink. I don't think I'd order matcha from here again. I just don't think it's what they're known for. The rosemary bagel was so yummy! The flavor of the rosemary was so subtly delicious and the bread was soooo soft. They have a lot of tables with lots of outlets nearby for charging. My friends and I came and studied here. It was nice and well lit when the large roller door was open but when it's closed it's pretty dim lit.

Love this spot! My go to drink is their Dirty Chai and a turkey sandwich, their sandwich is sooooooo amazing . The staff are always friendly and it's a great place to bring your work.

    Matcha latte w/ strawberry

I've tried all coffee shops and home based ones in Riv. Unfortunately, this might be the worst spot. I may have gone at a wrong time but my drink tasted like whole milk and I could hardly taste the strawberry, my total was $7.25. My friend's iced latte w/ brown sugar was basically milk and sugar.

Great place in an office park. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great coffee. You can tell that they enjoy ther job and are passionate about coffee. I got a pour-over with some El Salvador beans and it was fantastic. I'm just passing through, but if I lived here this would be my go-to coffee spot!

Another great coffee spot. I love coming to this coffee shop because they're very consistent with their coffee. Every time I come I usually go for third brown sugar iced lattes with Oat milk and the flavor never changes. Consistency is what makes this coffee shop earn a 5 star. I would also recommend trying their pastries. The Sambusas are my favorite. This is definitely one of my go to coffee shops. Parking is not a problem in because it has a huge parking lot surrounding the place. Staff is very welcoming and extremely nice also!

I came here with a friend and we ordered an iced chai and a banana bread muffin both were okay just pricey . The space itself has a really nice ambiance and seems like it would be a great place to sit and get some work done. That said, there were a few frustrating things. The kitchen apparently closes at 3 PM, which is about two hours before the café itself closes. I wanted to order a sandwich, but they told me the kitchen had already been closed for a while, which was confusing since the shop was still open. Update: I came back another time to actually study and it was extremely loud. The music was blasting and didn't really match the relaxed café vibe, and they also messed up my order. It's disappointing because the food and drinks are good, but between the noise, the early kitchen closure, and the order mistake, it's not a great place if you're hoping to sit down and focus. I even moved from the main room to the other room because the main area was so loud. I sat there for maybe two minutes before a worker came in and said they had to close that room, even though it was only around 3:30 PM and the café doesn't close until 5 PM. I completely understand wanting to start closing tasks early, but when the place is still full of customers it felt a bit strange. I've probably been here around five times now. The coffee and matcha are just okay, the sandwich is decent but not really worth $15, and the service hasn't been great. Honestly, the main reason I kept coming back was because the space is cute inside, but after these experiences I probably won't be returning.

Unsweetened matcha with soy milk ($8)

Drinks are okay but too expensive. Why am I paying $10 for Sysco ingredients. They also charge $1 to REFILL YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE. It's 90° out today in Riverside and I'm a student who's trying to study for a bit. I finished the water in my water bottle and this place told me to my face they need to charge me $1 for their tap water. Good riddance.

    Iced Vanilla brown sugar latte
    Erica A.

Came here to get some homework done while I was local to the area for the day. Nice shops very large space with plenty of seating! To drink for myself I got an iced vanilla brown sugar latte which was soo tasty and flavorful. Also got an order of the avocado toast, I probably would not get the item again. Bread was very thick and far from "toasted" Other than the avocado toast not being to pleasant, loved the shop and the space, great study spot & loved my coffee.

Midnight Garden Latte & Honey Coldbrew
    Noelia L.

This is probably the best coffee I've ever had. I got the midnight Garden latte that was on the January menu and I was so impressed. The taste of the drink was so different. I've never had something this delicious and it came with cold foam and sprinkles. It was $8, which was a bit pricey but the service was very fast and I liked how this place is very study friendly. It was not too loud, and the lighting was very comfy. There is lots of seating. Overall, a great experience.

I come here to study time to time and every time I come into this establishment I'm always welcomed with a smile. This place is clean and comfy. It's a really chill environment to stay for a like 2hrs. All in all I recommend visit.

    Avocado toast was delicious!

I didn't want to enter any cafe very small/ with petite tables or judgement if I sat down for 1.5 hr to work on my computer. I bought a sausage croissant which was just ok, but still a nice quick breakfast item. I was able to sit in a comfy chair with an outlet source & table to conference in my meeting. I was left unbothered & comfortable the whole time, which I greatly appreciated. There are several lounge chairs, tables & areas to space out to work, read, lounge, etc! I would certainly return another day to try out their coffee menu and those earl grey lavender scones (wish I saw those first!!) The barista was kind & the atmosphere very pleasant!

SERVICE here is VERY BAD!…read more The service at Back to the Grind was genuinely one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've had. While I was in the middle of placing my order, an older gentleman wearing glasses abruptly walked away from me mid-conversation to speak with someone he knew. No acknowledgment, no "I'll be right back," nothing. I was left standing there confused and waiting while they casually chatted amongst themselves. At the same time, my husband approached another employee -- a young woman with very long black hair and a pink bandana (see pic)-- simply to ask for the WiFi password. Without even looking at him, she told him he needed to "buy something first." When he explained that I was already ordering, she repeated herself in a dismissive tone and continued making sandwiches without making eye contact once. What stood out most wasn't just the lack of hospitality, but the overall attitude from multiple staff members. The environment felt cold, dismissive, and inconvenienced by customers being there at all. Ironically, the café advertises community classes like yoga and live meditation classes on the window, yet basic customer service and professionalism seem completely absent. The food itself was fine, which is why this review is specifically about the service experience. Even after how poorly we were treated, I still left a tip because I refuse to match that level of disrespect. Management seriously needs to address the customer service culture here. One rude interaction can happen anywhere -- but multiple employees displaying the same behavior reflects a larger issue.

Honestly, the line is mainly due to the customers taking their sweet time while ordering. You might have a hard time finding a table to sit at inside, but they also have outside seating. Price-wise you'll probably spend around $15-$20 per person. I highly recommend their grilled chicken sandwhich. It comes with grilled chicken, lettuce and tomato, all on a toasted sourdough bread covered with pesto and cheese. For the side I typically get the Italian pasta salad, which is always delicious. One thing about this sandwhich is that the chicken will never cover the entire bread and it will never be distributed evenly. So you will always have one half that has less chicken and ends up being part veggie pesto sandwhich, which is still worth it. The other favorite is a turkey club sandwhich on a croissant.
