I'm a landscape contractor in the area with 5 stars across the board that was in need of a fence insulation company. I found Dan on Facebook through a form page. I saw him posting a lot of good pictures online and I figured i thought I'd give him a shot. We got in touch we spoke about a few jobs I have that I need help with and he said he can help me. I told him the requirements that we have and he said no problem he can get this to us. - Insurance certificate with our name on it before he starts working. - Take before, During and After pictures. This was June 19th week. June 23rd. I contacted him asking him if he was still planning on going to the clients home on Saturday to do the work. He responded yes. He told me it would be done by Sunday. It wasn't and he didn't contact me to let me know. (Very frustrating as I shouldn't be continuously contacting him). The job wasn't done over the weekend. The job was supposedly going to be done on the following Tuesday but it didn't until Wednesday. I understand weather permitting, however he never told me that he was coming out the following day. Wednesday supposedly the job was completed but it wasn't. This was a 1 man - 2 day job and pretty cut and dry project. Thursday June 29th I reached out to Dan about his project. I had to stop out at the property to find the fence installed has major issues since he never sent me the pictures. 1. Posts are loosely in the ground. They move and jiggle around. They aren't solidly in the ground as they should be. 2. The fence is chipped and cracked in several areas along the hinge areas very visible. 3. One post is being held up by a bungie cord - because the post isn't solid and is loose. 4. One post is crooked. 5. On one side of the home the fence isn't flush with the home as it should be. There is a piece of fence between the gas meter and the post loosely standing there. 6. The hinges on the left side of the garage are facing out and the one on the right side of the home are on the inside. 7. The gate can't open clearly due to the gas meter being in the way. Per the previous fence the gate opened as it was in the middle. 8. The gate on the left side was supposed to be 48" and 36" on the right side. He responded blaming me for picking out the worst materials to have installed. "Clients choice". It's a crappy installation. See the attachments. Dan asked me what I'm charging for labor and I responded; What I charge for labor or for the job has NOTHING to do with your quality of work period! He offered to have this fixed on the 4th of July and I declined as my client is having guests over this holiday weekend. This should have been fixed before the weekend not when it's convenient for him. This crappy installation can hurt my business reputation. He has used volger language with me and has threatened me because I've brought this to his attention. I had to get my attorney involved as he's acting out of control instead of fixing the problem so he can get paid. Update 7/13/18 The project is still incomplete. Unfortunately we have had to get our attorney involved since Dan has made severe threats after leaving this review online. Additionally he isn't willing to work with us and get it done how our contract with our client states. "Dans texts below; The next thing I say to you will be face to face. I'm done with the text talk. Maybe reconsider the way you talk to people, it may run some the wrong way I FUCKING TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES. Apparently you can't read or were ignoring it. lol..... sue me......for damage I did or material I wasted of yours? Emotional distress? I'm done with this for today guy. Well took soon I see you went on my Yelp page you big fat fuckin piece of shit. I was goin to let this go, but you changed my mind" I don't want the gates flipped as Dan wants to do because there will be holes empty or filled looking like junk. I want the posts replaced, and gates that are broken replaced. Sadly if he doesn't do it per my instructions which I've messaged him a few times about I will have to have it removed and redone. I wish I read all reviews about his company before hiring him. Stay Away!!!! read more

Fantastic service - Dan is the best. Had him come over with a helper and together they helped me assemble furniture, fix some bathroom fixtures, add a door lock, and even fix a washer and drier! The absolute best - highly recommend... read more

Dano Home Services - Handyman Near Me

I recently hired Dano Home Services to fix issues with my gutters and window screens. My initial call was promptly returned and the job was started and completed in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. All employees I had contact with were approachable and professional. I asked for a recommendation for a service to remove some tree and shrub overgrowth and they were are to handle that task as well. I was very pleased with the overall experience and will use them again when the need arises. read more

Don't waste your time! Called and got an estimate to replace durarock and tile in my shower area. We agreed a text would be the quickest way to contact him. I sent a text and said I would like to retain their services. I was told they were in the middle of a basement remodel and he would call me back to schedule the work. I waited one week ... No call back! The impression I got was.... If the job is small he's not interested. Sorry to say I would not waste my time contacting this company. read more

Stay away from this company! I wish that I could find something nice to say about this company. Unfortunately, I cannot. They - were unprofessional. Arguing and swearing in emails and calls. For example, the owner of the company stated in an email, "I have black paint all over my tarps and if there's drips on the sidewalk, accidents happen" - near impossible to get a hold of. I have a long string of voicemails and emails pleading with them to finish the job that they started over a month ago. This is after I paid them in full - estimated a low price, only to go over it by 75%. I asked for a breakdown of their invoice multiple times, and never received it - were inexperienced and broke something that they were suppose to fix - left garbage, nails and cigarette butts all over the floor Save yourself the headache and unneeded aggravation. Go with any other handyman but Dano Home Services! read more

Hooked my mom up with them to do some painting and odd stuff around her home and she can't stop raving about how awesome they are. Came out right away to give an estimate and were friendly and then had the work finished in under a week. Also, not too expensive. read more

I called for a quote, said he would call me back & never did. I called him back & left a voicemail trying to set up an appointment and I'm still waiting for him to return my call. Must be too successful to add more business to hi portfolio. Don't waste your time, call someone else! read more

Had the pleasure of meeting Dan this past week due to a Forrest growing in my gutters. I called everywhere to try and get them cleaned only to be told time and time again that it was about a 1 to 2 month wait before they would get to me. I then moved over to Facebook and posted on a couple of the local groups I belong to in hopes of some good old fashioned networking with others who would happen to know any person/company that would have the time to swing by and do the job. Got a few recommendations but after contacting said recommendations, I never received any response. Then low and behold Dan himself chimes in and tells me that he can come by the next day and get the job done for a great price. I take him up on his offer and sure enough, the next day comes and my gutters are taken care of. Not to mention, they were done without any mess left anywhere. Very professional and courteous and did what he said he was going to do. Hope Dan stays in business for a long time because I will be contacting him for home services in the future! read more

This will be my 2nd review for Dano Home Services because, quite frankly, I am shocked by some of the other reviews I've read! I live in an older home in Mt. Greenwood, so I have needed several repairs over the years, and have called Dano Home services for ALL of them. To date, they have: remodeled my bathroom, repaired my basement from seepage damage, flooring - kitchen and all bedroom floors torn up and completely re-done, fixed up my garage and repaired the back deck. All of these jobs were done on separate occasions and I have been extremely pleased with the results. The prices can't be beat, and I've NEVER been treated disrespectfully, or sworn at. And any time that I have called, I've got a response in a reasonable time. I understand that while I am a good customer, I am not Dano's ONLY customer. I'd rather hire a contractor that is always working than someone just sitting around Home Depot, waiting for a call. It's just a shame that a majority of people in this world will take time out of their day to write a negative review, but not to praise someone for a job well done. read more

This review is a bit late, but Dano Home Services was a fantastic find. I was having some issues with my garage door not catching in early spring. Came to Yelp, found them in my area, called em' and they were there in 2 hours to fix my issue quickly and reasonably! Next time I need some work done, I will definitely be using them! So happy with their work! read more

Got a quick response/estimate for installation of shutters. The price was reasonable and I was told the job could be completed in just a few days. However, when I inquired as to whether an additional job could be added or if he could put me in touch with someone who could do the job, I was told he'd get back to me with a price and date, but he never did. Poor business practice. read more

I can't thank Dan and his crew enough for their services! With a one week closing date on our new home looming we were told we had to do some repairs to get our loan approved. I had one day to find someone to do it and after calling many companies who couldn't do last minute I came upon Dan. He had other business scheduled but was able to rearrange his schedule to work with me. He was extremely pleasant and accommodating to work with. He saved us and I am truly grateful! Not sure why other reviews are claiming he isn't responsive because he was nothing but that with us. He did the work himself on a HOT day and kept me in the loop the entire time. THANK YOU Dan, and I will be calling again with whatever else we may need in our new home. read more

Ignore my earlier one star rating - they were suddenly short-handed and unable to return my calls in a timely manner. Once fully staffed again, did a great job painting/replacing my garage doors, windows and front porch wrought iron railings. Prompt, professional, friendly and reasonably priced. Very highly recommended. read more

Prompt and professional..my only complaint is that Dan wears way too much cologne..left my new man cave smelling of fresh cedar and jermain juice..hence only 4 stars. Anyone who doesn't like dano home services doesn't like puppies kittens or babies. read more
