Raymond is a solid handyman, responsive, professional, on time and reasonable pricing. As a bonus he has a great sense of humor. We hired him to build out an unfinished room in the basement and we are happy with the work he did. He completed the job building a wall as well as dry walling the ceiling quickly and was able to add the flooring install to his scope of work. We called him back a couple weeks after to do a few more steps we had planned on doing ourselves, and again, are happy with his work. We would hire him again! read more

Bledsoe Handyman & Construction is an incredible service. I'm sure like most home owners, it's a challenge to find a good handyman who can work on a range of home repairs, at the same time being available & keeps appointments on time. Their prices are competitive and they've quickly become my go-to. I've hired them so far for plumbing, electric, flooring & rebuilding my porch just recently. I would highly reccomend them, great work and good team. read more

I am so glad that I found Raymond Bledsoe. He literally saved my garage in the nick of time. I had a crack joist, that caused my roof to sag, killed my garage door (due to sag & lean), and almost completely failed. I requested quotes from 3 other garage companies, all wanted a complete tear down & re-build. Instead of joist replacement. I sent pictures of structure as requested & got a response back quickly. Once Ray came on-site, he said it was an emergency fir us, and came out the next day to fix my garage. He is so detailed, and precise in addressing the root cause that I felt at ease when he was discussing what needed to be done. My electrical conduit was rehung, and looks great. I'll be calling Bledsoe for all my household repair projects. read more

The price and service were excellent. They had the most economical price compared to the other two places that contacted me. They worked to repair my mailbox late in the afternoon in the dark, but got it done as pro. While the price and service. Took one star off for providing misleading quotation (it was still the cheapest, nevertheless). read more

I hired Bledsoe to install a new rear entry door to my house. The handyman was on time and very courteous. The door seemed fine upon first glance but, looking a bit closer after he had left, there were some major shortcomings to the install. The handyman made no effort to seal the perimeter of the door which left my house exposed to the elements and infestation. In the pictures i left, you can see that no sealing membrane was used under the door. You could literally see my subfloor from outside of the house. The frame wasn't caulked under our around the perimeter. Upon install, the handyman also pushed up on some J channel at the top of the door, creating a gap, and further leading to a possible water/bug issue. This was a very basic job that was done very improperly. The door has since been removed and installed properly. I contacted Bledsoe with my issue and sent pictures. It's been almost 2 weeks but i haven't received any response. I would not use this handyman again. Update: The handyman finally contacted me, but only in response to this review. There was no mention of warranty at the time of quote or install that i can recall. In regards to the trim; i told the worker that the interior trim did not need to be installed as the room is getting refinished. The lack of interior trim is not part of my issues with the install. In regards to the gap at the bottom of the door; I'm referring to the area immediately under the silver threshold. The threshold was set on top of shims and the subfloor is exposed to the elements. In regards to membrane or caulking; i wasnt made aware that i was supposed to supply them in order for them to be used. Caulking under the threshold is standard practice when installing a door and is a material you would expect the contractor to provide. read more

I reached out to Bledsoe Handyman to have a new vanity installed, install a new shower door and re-pave my front and back porch steps all at a great price. From the initial conversation he was very knowledgable and friendly. He made sure that everything was clean and tidy when he was finished and started on time. We were so thankful to find Bledsoe to work on a variety of projects in our home. We found Raymond and his company to be professional, responsive, perform quality work, and priced fairly. It may take a bit to get started bc he comes to see work and provide estimate, and he is thorough in planning the job. He has been here to hang huge artwork and mirrors, install a unique bathroom vanity and faucet, install new shower door n old tub, install a vintage door knocker and peephole, remove wood shelving and install new Elfa shelving in pantries, patch and paint, and more. I've taken advantage of his service of picking up products at store for an add'l fee. And, a he honored his commitment to make it right on a project that didn't go as planned (more to do with the complexity and unknown than his work). He always cleans up. We plan to use him, again! read more

In my experience working with Raymond he was unprofessional, unresponsive, and ultimately did not finish the work he was hired to do of installing and staining our condo's decks. Raymond used a different stain color than we requested without telling us and his application was very uneven. When I brought this up to him, he offered to either fix it or refund us the cost of the stain and we opted for the refund. After questioning why what he offered to refund us was less than what we paid him for the stain Raymond ghosted me. His offer stated that he would provide a receipt for the materials he bought and he did not provide the receipt when asked, which leads us to believe Raymond overcharged us. At that same time, I brought up to Raymond that we noticed he did not screw all of the boards on the decks. I directly asked him numerous times when he could come out to fix the boards with no response. The only time he ended up responding to me was when I said I would write a review and contact the BBB. He threatened to involve his lawyers and has ultimately refused to fix it or refund us. If Raymond had offered to finish the work and remedy the stain issue from the start I would have been happy with the outcome but I cannot recommend his services after this experience. Based on some other negative reviews, it seems to be his mo to stop responding to people and blame them for the issue not being resolved. I am disappointed that it took me getting upset with him to get any response and then he is using that against me to avoid fixing the issue. Raymond did not take responsibility for his work which was of very poor quality so if you are on the fence about using Raymond I would not recommend doing so. read more

Raymond was timely on arrival for the estimate and for the work done. His estimate was reasonable, and he knocked out two projects for me with no issues. He wore a mask the entire time he was here, which I appreciated very much. Very personable guy. Ray was terrific! He gave a fair bid on the scope of work we wanted done, which was a freshening of our upper level. We replaced 6 interior doors and 8 bi-fold doors with solid core 6 panel doors and new hardware and paint; we painted the living room, dining, main bath, and hallway; we installed new lights and mirrors in the main bath, and we replaced the cap on our half-wall along the staircase. Every door was hung on the first day. More importantly, and I have worked with many contractors as a long-time homeowner, Ray showed up right at 9am every morning and he actually finished a half-day early. He is polite and professional and takes great care to get things right. I would absolutely hire Ray again. read more

Pros: Prompt response to my inquiries Great communication Fit my new door into the existing space without having to alter my house Pleasant to work with Cons: Didn't alert me to issues surrounding the installation of the door (rotten wood in the existing door frame, need for insulation under the jamb, lack of ability to discard construction debris from removal of the old door frame) In the end, I ended up having to problem solve on my own for how to better insulate the door so that it didn't leak air (air leakage was why I replaced the door in the first place). I was glad to be able to take care of this on my own but would have preferred to have known that there were issues while the door was being worked on. read more

Update....there was never any miscommunication on the day of the appointment. I received notifications that my messages to them were being read during the course of the hour that I waited for them. Raymond did not rectify the situation after my multiple attempts to contact him after giving him my first 1 star. He finally responded after I reached out through a different platform. He expressed that He is very upset that I've used a platform to alert potential clients that his customer service is terrible and to avoid him. He doesn't understand that platforms are designed for consumers to help other consumers by use of ratings. Thankfully, the work has been completed by a different company who are true professionals that care about clients and value customer service. read more

If you don't want to be responsible for your work then give me a refund, that's all I am asking for. I even said you don't need to put the doors on, all I am asking for is the frame to be squared. Oddly enough I finally heard back from Raymond once I posted my initial review. Unfortunately the issue still isn't resolved. He agreed to come back and correct the frame, but then he and the company went silent again. They won't respond to any phone calls, emails or texts. I've waited over a week now for any type of response. It's pretty simple, the door frame was not installed square (width is smaller at the bottom, height is shorter on one side). As previously stated, I am not paying more money for his failure to do it correctly the first time. I trusted what he was saying after the initial installation, which was my mistake. When the door manufacturer came, they pointed out the issues with the installation of the frame and why it wouldn't fit. Yes, the gentleman was retired, but he had decades of experience as a carpenter and clearly knew what he was doing. The door manufacturer agreed there were other cosmetic issues with the door and agree to replace them, which they did. Now I have the replacement doors, which measure the same as the original doors, but they won't fit because the frame is not square due to the original installation of it. In addition to the frame not be installed correctly, here is a list of other poor quality items from this simple project. - Bubbling drywall tape (which Raymond said he would fix when he comes to fix the frame) - I had to point out the trim was not installed to match the existing trim. He had to take off and start over. - They painted over the hardware on the door, which I also pointed out to them. There were also a number of drip marks from the paint job. This is why I decided to paint the new doors myself. - Raymond disappeared from working at my house for over 4 hours and left all the supplies out in the middle of my house. I reached out to the company to inform them of this to see what was going on and to let them know incase something happened to him. He then came back at 6 or 7 that night wanting to continue work which was too late for my family. Again poor communication. - The company canceled a scheduled service due to potential weather, which ended up being rain. read more
