Karl did some outside work for us including new framing and weatherstripping on the garage door, replaced damaged siding and fixed a couple of kitchen drawers to work properly. There was a problem with the new weather stripping and he promptly returned and replaced the bad piece. We are already making a to do list to bring him back. read more

Karl did a fantastic job with lighting work in our home - highly recommended. He took down some old chandeliers and installed can lights in a few different rooms in our house (some of which had 20ft ceilings). Some of this involved a big drywall cutout of ceiling, putting in new drywall and painting, etc. They did great work - the lights look beautiful, and the drywall patching and painting looks seamless - can't tell they were there at all. Karl and team were friendly and punctual, and we appreciated that. Karl was also very good-natured and accommodating of us as we went back and forth a few times about exactly how warm/cold we wanted the lights; he changed them out for us a few times, let us have an evening to try it out to make sure it was the right color light, etc. We also added a few little things last minute and they were happy to take care of those, too. The price was reasonable - lower than the other quotes I received from a few other folks. Overall, had a good experience and we're pleased with the work. Karl recently remodeled our upstairs hall bath and did a fantastic job! There were a few hiccups along the way - a chipped vanity top, a missing shower part - but he handled each with such professionalism and made sure that at the end of the day my husband and I were 100% satisfied with the end product. He and his crew worked fast, which we appreciated, but not so fast that quality was compromised. We had a few other quotes before the project began and Karl was the most responsive and best priced out of all the contractors we spoke with. He was easy to communicate with, always on time and respectful of life continuing in our house even during a construction project. This is a belated review on their work which was done a couple of months ago. I have to say they did a great work. We found out about these guys through our neighbor who also had their bathroom done. We saw the result and decided to contact them. Karl is very professional and pays attention to what exactly you are looking for. First the bathroom was completely re-done, the new fans and lights were put in 2 of our bedrooms, and they installed the new staircase. The bathroom, new lighting in bedrooms, fans, all took 5 days to complete. New staircase was about 1.5 days. Timing was great, very punctual. Definitely would recommend. Everyone we showed their work to, loved it. We will use them again for our future projects! read more

I live pretty far away from Karl but that didn't stop him from his REASONABLY priced work he did for us! A storm blew off my shed doors and he reinstalled better than new. He took 4 closet doors to his shop, repainted and came back at night to put them back on their tracks. Called and spoke with Karl last night. Not a big job but my front door lock was malfunctioning and the door wouldn't lock. He told me to text him the info after we hung up and said he would come tonight when I was home from work. I received a text that he was on his way and he came, as promised. Took the lock apart, saw that it was broken and replaced it. He's a great guy with personality and a sense of humor. Who comes all the way to the boonies for a small job like that? Not many! He has a lot of experience and runs a quality company. I would highly recommend him. read more

Very poor customer service. Karl did tile work in my house and after he was finished I realized that 2 wall tiles in a shower were scratched. When we called and desceibed the problem he asked if we wanted him to come out and fix this..YES! He came out, took them out and replaced. Next I realized that he installed 2 different types of tile in another bathroom (matte and glossy) on the same wall! I was so upset I decided to have someone else fix this as I didn't want to deal with Karl anymore. Problems weren't over. I have noticed that a tile on a floor is completely sticking up to the point where you could trip on it or hurt your toe. I have decided it was time to call Karl to fix this. He came out and fixed the tile. The very next day after inspecting his work I have realized that 2 adjacent tiles were moving and grout was cracked. I called Karl and asked to come out, yet again and requested partial reimbursement as we have to continue to buy extra tile over and over again. He responded that we were done and he can't continue to come out whenever we want him to and that was going to block my number and I should have someone else fix this. I was appalled to say the least. I don't want him to come out every time we need him, I want him to do quality work that we paid for. Very unprofessional owner and clearly he has very little experience with tile work. Do yourself a favor and hire somebody else who actually knows what they're doing. I do not recommend Handyman Plus Construction after my terrible experience and poor job he performed. read more
