As I'm sure you can guess, he was still a no show. Unprofessional. Update: Now they audaciously are saying they never made an appointment with me. See the enclosed screenshot of our correspondence. They are either completely dishonest or failed to adequately investigate a legitimate customer complaint before responding Either way, not trustworthy. Should have owned up to your mishandling of the situation and simply apologized. Update No. 2: Now, they fully acknowledge their mistake despite their initial denial. Their condescending and unprofessional follow up response tells you all you need to know about this business. Reporting to BBB as well.

This was a smaller job, but once again it involved working in an old house with some wonky dimensions and conditions. Daniela and Raymond were the first people to understand and support my desire to both repair the house and preserve some of its original charm. I cannot believe the amount of work they were able to get done in just a few months. We originally hired them to do insulation and drywall, but we ended up letting them do the whole house. They finished the entire kitchen, bathrooms, windows, and trim in addition to drywall and insulation--they practically built this house. I cannot recommend them enough. As a woman who met with dozens of contractors, Daniela and Raymond were some of the only people who met me with patience, understanding, and enthusiasm. They never made me feel like any project was too big or any question was too dumb. In addition to the high-quality work, that felt like the most valuable part.

David, the owner, seems like a nice guy, and he did a good job replacing the tiles on my bathroom floor, and he (mostly his assistant) did a lot of painting, which on the whole looks good. But see below... The big issues were what I discovered after he was finished and had left: fresh paint stains in multiple areas, including the wood floor of my 19th century house and even furniture - which I cleaned up. Splattered paint near the ceiling of my kitchen which still, three months later, has not been patched, paint stains on my oriental rug, a major purchase 40 years ago, etc. David said he would pay for the rug damage, and I only asked for 50% of the very reasonable $175 cleaning cost. David told me to bill him via Zelle, something I said I'm not sure how to do. He already has my Zelle information, since that's how I paid him for the work. But after messaging him and emailing several times, he has not responded. And I still have paint streaks on the wall and an unpaid bill. So I can't recommend Handy Gentlemen. I think part of the problem is that David is under-manned and a bit overwhelmed, but not responding to my messages is unprofessional.
