Didn't have the stones or parts to just start cutting things off and i live with 3 women who weren't going to put up with the only shower being out of order for long. Called Szabo plumbing around 5 pm on a friday night. The next morning Joe, from Szabo, sent me a text message and told me not to fear. No walls were going to be opened and he would take fine care of me. Even sent me pictures of other jobs he had done. He arrived about an hour later and had me kill the water to the house. About 45 minutes to maybe an hour later, I not only had a new cartridge installed, but also a new escutcheon plate, pull handle and a new fully functioning shower diverter. I paid for the work done, you can't get quality work and expect to pay discount prices. Joe's work was professional and beyond and trust me, Szabo plumbing and Joe's contact info got saved to my contact list. I now have a recommendation if someone asks me: "Do you know a good plumber?" The cost of the repair was clearly communicated as 2 possible options depending on the discovery, we got lucky and the cheapest option won! With that said, the crew didn't take any shortcuts and made sure that the task was completed properly and in a very timely manner. Bonus, when requested, they also gave us an on-the-spot estimate for future improvement work. Very reasonable and no surprises. Looking forward to future projects and service calls. The bathtub almost killed my elderly mother when she slipped and fell trying to step out, so I decided to kill the bathtub before it ended her. Prior to the job, the tub always had drain issues and the water would pool up - due to old/poor drain design. I shopped around for quotes and I will tell you exactly why I went with JoBre Design and Renovation: -JoBre was the most knowledgeable of all the quotes I recieved prior, even from as big as Kohler, and other small contractors - JoBre impressed me with the extensive knowledge when coming to my house and examining everything. -JoBre identified issues and possible issues that were completely missed by other contractors. -The estimate wasn't the most expensive one, but not the cheapest. It was also clear that there could be other issues due to what they find behind the walls. The estimate did not skyrocket, as all additional work and recieipts of sub-contractors brought in were presented at the time issues were found such as: Rotted wood window frame from water damage due to loose tiles. Plumbing/drain issues from out of compliance old plumbing. My priority was SAFETY FIRST, then functionality and design. I am not a design person what so ever, so I asked JoBre to make all of the decisions and choose all of the supplies. JoBre just checked with me on colors and basics before proceeding, which I was fine with. The time estimate to complete was 1 week or less. Because of the unexpected issues that came up, it took approximately a week and a half, and JoBre was literally working 10-12 or more hours a day working to make everything PERFECT and flawless, weekends, weekdays. Just doing demolition on the old tub took an entire day with a sledgehammer, because the tub was old pure cast iron that weighed in excess of 500 pounds. I had a junkyard put me in contact with someone to pick it up - I didn't want to pay extra to have a dumpster outside the house for such small pieces. As you can see the shower is now amazing and JoBre perfected the tiling work one piece at a time. Soft close shower door, drains fast, sprays more water - it is 100% better than what it was. I highly recommend JoBre if you want the job done right and to perfection. If you're looking for a "quickie" express job, JoBre may not be for you - but I can tell you that JoBre will do everything right and keep you informed every step of the way to make sure everything is done right. To add more safety, after these photos I added a Gorilla Grip bathmat and a Stone mat for when you exit the shower.

This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. I always try to support businesses I've worked with before, which is why I gave Frank the opportunity to handle this simple repair. However, after three unsuccessful attempts, I decided to hire a local family-owned plumbing business instead. They resolved the issue in just 20 minutes--whereas Frank spent hours over multiple days with no results, even suggesting the absurd idea of tearing down a wall. Since the issue was never resolved, I requested a partial refund for the incomplete service, but my request was denied. Given this experience, I believe the Better Business Bureau should be contacted regarding these questionable business practices. After looking further into this business, I noticed a pattern of similar complaints, including one from another Yelp reviewer, Karolyn J., who experienced nearly the same issue. This leads me to believe that my previous positive experience with Frank's business was due to Steve, who is no longer with the company.
