Our compliments on the excellent work by the technician who visited us to install the shower door (apologies - I did not write down his name). He did an overall fantastic job, start to finish, earning a 100/100. He is competent, professional, and courteous. He answered all our questions patiently and stayed focused on the job without rushing it. Notably, the final cleanup was so thorough! Earlier, the person who visited us for the estimation and measurement was equally good- very knowledgeable! The office personnel who handle the scheduling are very responsive and understanding of our (customers') changing needs and priorities. My call was returned same day and I was able to quickly set an appointment. Sergio called me 15 minutes before my set time and made me feel like one of my buddies just happened to be in the neighborhood. We quickly figured out that my bolts were too long and were bending as I pushed them against the foundation. I received a quick response and George came out to take a look at everything we wanted to do and provided an estimate later in the week. Once I had a chance to review all my estimates I contacted AGH and gave them the green light. They were able to start work on my projects within a week. Here are the projects I had them work on: -Custom built cabinet/pantry in my kitchen -Custom backsplash above my kitchen counter/sink -Remove/install new cabinet by my stove -Recaulk bathroom window in my shower From start to finish it took them about a week. Pretty reasonable given the amount of work I had done. They also stayed within the original budget that was quoted. They were also very clean and the workers that were in and out of my condo were very polite. I will definitely call them again for my next projects. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the communication could have been better coordinated. It seems they have different contacts for all aspects: estimates, payments, and actual work. This is my only knock on AGH, but overall I am very happy with all the work performed in my condo!

I saw him posting a lot of good pictures online and I figured i thought I'd give him a shot. We got in touch we spoke about a few jobs I have that I need help with and he said he can help me. I told him the requirements that we have and he said no problem he can get this to us. - Insurance certificate with our name on it before he starts working. - Take before, During and After pictures. This was June 19th week. June 23rd. I contacted him asking him if he was still planning on going to the clients home on Saturday to do the work. He responded yes. He told me it would be done by Sunday. It wasn't and he didn't contact me to let me know. (Very frustrating as I shouldn't be continuously contacting him). The job wasn't done over the weekend. The job was supposedly going to be done on the following Tuesday but it didn't until Wednesday. I understand weather permitting, however he never told me that he was coming out the following day. Wednesday supposedly the job was completed but it wasn't. This was a 1 man - 2 day job and pretty cut and dry project. Thursday June 29th I reached out to Dan about his project. I had to stop out at the property to find the fence installed has major issues since he never sent me the pictures. 1. Posts are loosely in the ground. They move and jiggle around. They aren't solidly in the ground as they should be. 2. The fence is chipped and cracked in several areas along the hinge areas very visible. 3. One post is being held up by a bungie cord - because the post isn't solid and is loose. 4. One post is crooked. 5. On one side of the home the fence isn't flush with the home as it should be. There is a piece of fence between the gas meter and the post loosely standing there. 6. The hinges on the left side of the garage are facing out and the one on the right side of the home are on the inside. 7. The gate can't open clearly due to the gas meter being in the way. Per the previous fence the gate opened as it was in the middle. 8. The gate on the left side was supposed to be 48" and 36" on the right side. He responded blaming me for picking out the worst materials to have installed. "Clients choice". It's a crappy installation. See the attachments. Dan asked me what I'm charging for labor and I responded; What I charge for labor or for the job has NOTHING to do with your quality of work period! He offered to have this fixed on the 4th of July and I declined as my client is having guests over this holiday weekend. This should have been fixed before the weekend not when it's convenient for him. This crappy installation can hurt my business reputation. He has used volger language with me and has threatened me because I've brought this to his attention. I had to get my attorney involved as he's acting out of control instead of fixing the problem so he can get paid. Update 7/13/18 The project is still incomplete. Unfortunately we have had to get our attorney involved since Dan has made severe threats after leaving this review online. Additionally he isn't willing to work with us and get it done how our contract with our client states. "Dans texts below; The next thing I say to you will be face to face. I'm done with the text talk. Maybe reconsider the way you talk to people, it may run some the wrong way I FUCKING TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES. We got several bids for the project, and Brothers not only gave us the lowest bid, but we also felt the most comfortable with them on a personal level. - as they struck us as very straight-forward, honest and trustworthy. Jim, Eric and their team not only did an incredible job executing our vision, but also brought their own expertise and insight into how to best transform a space. They really have a knack for both the craftsmanship aspect of remodeling as well as a good eye on how to utilize your floor plan. Our basement was half-finished with a mix of concrete, ratty carpet and wood paneled walls. They knocked down a wall, re-did the floors, added drywall, framed a storage room, built a bathroom, added canned lights, put in new windows and additional electrical outlets. What once looked like a rundown area of our townhouse now looks like an upscale hotel suite complete with the beautiful bathroom that they added. They completed all the work on time and on budget, and we couldn't imagine anyone doing a better job. Not having a lot of experience in the world of renovation/remodeling, it was such a relief to deal with honest, hard-working guys who treat you like family and don't try to hose you over. In addition to doing excellent work, they were all nice, respectful and easy to get along with - and we felt 100% comfortable with them going in and out of our place for the better part of a month. One more point I would like to mention is that during the remodel, we had an issue with our furnace. Four Seasons came out and quoted us around $1,000 to fix it. We told the brothers about it, and they said that sounded excessive. Jim and Eric took care of the parts and labor for $300 that same day, and it's been running perfectly since then. If we ever need any more work done to our place, Brothers would be our only choice, and I would happily recommend them to friends, family and anyone who's looking for great work on their house or condo at a fair and honest price.

I do NOT recommend Ron and his company R-Deco…read more OVERPRICED Ron provides quotes that are extremely overpriced, at about 2x the price of any other company. A recent example was for a siding replacement project where he quoted almost 2x the nearest 3 companies who were all licensed, insured, and bonded (more on that later) and over 2x the lowest priced company who was not. And this was on a project in an HOA that he'd been working on for over a decade, so his bid should have come in the lowest of all because he'd already done the work for numerous other homes/units. UNCOMMUNICATED SCOPE CHANGES For the two projects I received a quote from Ron, both had their scope so drastically modified from what was requested by me that the projects and their prices were incomparable to what was actually needed. On the first project I asked for one door and 1/4 of a window to be recaulked, and he came back with an extremely expensive quote that was actually for caulking basically the entire exterior of my home/unit. On the second project I asked for all the siding to my rooftop penthouse to be replaced and he came back with a quote for just 4 of 12 panels to be replaced, without ever mentioning the scope change, perhaps so he could have me blindly sign the contract thinking I was getting what I wanted at a reasonable price when I would really only get 1/3 of what I asked for. EXCESSIVE DEPOSIT Ron charges a 60% deposit at contract signing and 50% of the remainder a week before the project begins, essentially requiring he is paid 80% of the already 2x overpriced job 1 week before any work even begins. This leaves absolutely no negotiating power to the buyer as Ron has already made all his profit and can just walk away or do a terrible job as he pleases. This kind of deposit is also completely out of line with industry standard, where companies require deposits of 50% or less, not 80%. RELUCTANT TO PROVIDE CREDENTIALS Ron won't provide you with either his license (which he doesn't seem to actually have, later on that), his insurance, or his bond information upfront like any other legitimate contractor. He requires that you sign his contract before he will provide you any of this. That's like someone claiming they're an airplane pilot but requiring you to commit to flying with them and only offering to show you their "credentials" when you're already on the plane and the doors are locked. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. LICENSING NOT FOUND Perhaps the reason Ron doesn't provide his credentials like licensing is that he in fact is NOT licensed, at least certainly not as a roofing contractor per the IDFPR website, though he advertises these services. He also cannot be found in the Chicago contractor database, even though he wanted to perform such General Contractor and/or Electrical license requiring tasks like swapping out an electrical exterior GFCI outlet during my siding project. Apparently he has been working in my HOA for over a decade, with the only reason that I've found so far being that he's the only one that's offered as an option for work by the HOA and Owner's just go with him to avoid the hassle of finding someone else. Of the 5 Owners that I've talked to though, all have negative experiences with him, including for overpricing and bad/not complete work. I will be recommending my HOA never work with Ron and his company R-Deco again and I would recommend you avoid him and his company as well.

I was on an incredibly tight schedule and Ron made all adjustments needed to make sure we hit the timeline and didn't sacrifice quality of work. I couldn't be happier with the result. They took down a wall and opened up my kitchen, installed all new cabinets and lighting, installed new flooring, put in a new staircase, re-did my laundry room, updated a bathroom, and many other smaller items throughout the house including putting in new toilets, re-staining hardwood floors, putting on new closet doors, etc. I would absolutely use R-Deco Painting & Home Improvements again!
