When I called them, they said it wasn't their responsibility to use the furniture pads or to get the streaks out so it looks like a new floor. They were very rude. I ended up hiring a new company for $3500 to get my floors looking the way they should've the first time. I would never use them again. They said there's nothing more they could do and it wasn't their responsibility to put on the furniture pads. I talked to the president of the company and he was very rude. Paul helped design the layout and worked with us to choose the right TimberTech decking materials. They trimmed the door on the interior and exterior walls, insulated, taped, drywalled and installed new outdoor lighting. Subsequently, Paul redid some indoor handrails, cutting, resizing, glueing and more, and wow, looks so professional. What's great about these guys is they show up early every morning, communicate status, clean up afterwards, are efficient, trustworthy, and take pride in their work. I was working with a more junior designer, and replies were sometimes delayed. Once we got into build phase, the process ran really smoothly. I worked primarily with Daniel who was coordinating everything, and he was very communicative. Everyone who worked on the project (tiling, plumbing, electrical) was prompt and attentive. There was a small snag at the end where my heated floors weren't heating. Daniel made sure to get the electrician, tiling professional, and heated floor professional on site to quickly identify the problem and remedy. The whole process from signing contract to completed bathroom was about six months. Longer than I was expecting, but happy to have had Chi Renovation coordinating all the moving pieces.

Stefan was very difficult to work with throughout the project. A large part of the battle was constantly having to argue with him because he acted like it was his home and his decisions mattered more than mine. Mid project my $800 Kohler shower head went missing. Instead of taking responsibility or helping resolve the issue, Stefan tried to blame me for it, and I ended up having to repurchase it myself. Later, when I started having issues with the plumbing work, Stefan sent his plumber out to look at it instead of coming himself. As the general contractor on the job, I expected him to personally come see the issue and take ownership of what was happening rather than passing it off to someone else. Over time, I started experiencing repeated backups, bubbling toilets, and drainage issues. After continuing to deal with these problems, I learned that the a pipe that was installed by Alpha House was back pitched and holding water and waste instead of draining properly. When the plumbing was inspected, standing water and sludge were visible in the line, but I was still told everything was normal and there was no issue by Alpha House. I trusted that advice at the time, but the problems continued. Since then, I have had three different plumbers inspect the line, and all three told me the installation was incorrect. I was told the pipe was improperly pitched and that at least one of the fittings was not installed correctly. I am now stuck paying THOUSANDS to have the piping redone because the original installation was not done properly in the first place. What is most frustrating is not just that the work appears to have been done incorrectly, but that the issue was clearly visible on camera and Stefan still dismissed my issues instead of being addressed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Alpha House Construction.

We have referred him to other people in the area as they have seen the work he has done for our house. I just noticed that he wasn't on Yelp so I had to do him this service for everything he's done for us! He can do almost everything. He's reliable, trustworthy and doesn't charge an insane price like other contractors do. He is honest if he can or cannot fix anything. Paul has built homes and has many, many years of experience. I hired a handyman to look at my garbage disposal on my island and that handyman told me that since we don't use it, we shouldn't replace it. He mentioned that if we don't periodically use the garbage disposal, it will break again. After this response, I reached out to Paul who spent hours installing a new garbage disposal. He had to re-wire everything under our sink. It's a good thing that he did that because that mis-wiring could have created major issues for us. He has redone our driveway (bricks), fixed our roof tile, remodeled our shower, installed our dishwashers, fixed our attic leak and repainted the rooms, removed our fences, installed doors, fixed our outdoor gates (carved all the wood himself), fixed/painted our garage door, and etc. Welcome to being a home owner!
