Unfortunately the output of the work did not earn my 5 stars. I contracted for (1) wall / ceiling painting, (2) a new door installation for bathroom (3) flooring work for ~500sqft in my studio. The company did a good job in (1) and (2). But when it comes to the flooring work, a few things happened: a. The majority of my purchased laminate materials was wasted due to installation challenges resulted from uneven subfloors: Before project started, I explicitly confirmed with the company on the product I intended to purchase and received the thumbs up. When my original carpet was removed, the contractor quickly found out that my subfloor was uneven, which present challenges to installation. With two attempts using almost all the materials, we concluded the product was not viable unless we either level the floor. That decision could have been made earlier b. The vinyl installation was suboptimal: Then I suggested I go together to pick a more flexible vinyl product with the contractor. As you can see in the picture, the installation was sub-optimal. The contractor attempted to float the vinyl but multiple pieces popped up after installation. Then an attempt to glue down some of the pieces was pursued. What you see on the picture was the outcome. At this point, this project has started since two months ago. I do not know what else can be done, nor do I want to push for another cycle of reinstallation so I closed the project. The other day, I walked in the new ORD airport pedestrian walkway. The vinyl planks there were well installed despite the fact the ORD subfloor was not even either. Typically, I'd expect the output of a residential project to be higher quality than commercial space, presumably due to smaller space. Am I missing something? I appreciate the hard work but I really cannot give thumbs up to the output. This is an investment property. The best company you will get hands down! I had a pipe burst in my apartment and it left me mild and water damage. Nick, the owner, was with me from the start to finish. He really took the stress out of the situation. They paid attention to every little detail and sometimes it felt as if he cared more about my own apartment than he did! Did a great job on my flat roof. 1.5 years and no more leaks. Customer service is great. Cleared up a great misunderstanding.

Lets start with the good stuff and say that Nick is a super friendly guy, at least during the one time I met him for the consultation. He was exactly on time and quick to check out the apartment and get everything scheduled and started. Unfortunately, the results of the work were highly disappointing. I asked Nick to fix some cracks on the walls and ceiling, but he or his crew ended up just painting over them, pretty much fixing nothing but minor nail holes. When I notified him about the issues, he responded that it was never his intent to actually fix the cracks or any imperfections on the walls or ceiling despite it being written on the contract that damage on the walls and ceilings would be repaired. See the pictures on my review for some reference what I mean by bad job. ----- Edit: I got a response from Nick stating that he pointed out areas that he would fix and the areas he wouldn't (including the corners that are demonstrated in some of my pictures). He also mentioned that he had explained to me that the ceiling is concrete and that he would be unable to fix it. Lastly, Nick let me know that he quoted $200-$400 to fix the corners. I can't recall these events so I won't go any further in this since it would be my word against his and lead nowhere. He did, however, offer to fix the corners or other imperfections for free, which is a very nice gesture but due to tight move in timeline I couldn't take him up on that offer. ----- Frontpoint Construction also quoted $500 to fix a floor underneath a half wall that was taken down. After the wall was taken down, they ended up asking $6,300 to fix the floor (but I must mention that the $6,300 would have been a custom design requested by me and not merely to "fix the floor," although Nick mentioned this would be the cheapest way to get it done), so I didn't have it done at all. Now I got a hole in my floor (to be fixed by another contractor for approx $3,100). Finally, after the job was done, the majority of the lights in the apartment no longer work. Too bad I only noticed this after the job was paid for in full so he does not respond to any form of communication anymore (Edit: Nick did immediately respond after I posted this review denying that his work would have any impact on the other lights in the apartment, followed by a "Cease and Desist" letter to take down this review or he'll take legal action against me.). With Frontpoint Construction it ended up costing ~$5,000 to remove a half wall, paint a studio apartment white without fixing multiple imperfections on the walls or ceiling, and to paint a bathroom, and as a bonus lost most of the lights in my apartment and got a hole on my floor... Although I can't show any proof that the lights not working is Frontpoint Construction's fault and they deny any responsibility, the lights were working before they started the job and weren't working after they were done. read more

They redid ceilings in our home, which turned out better than expected! they were able to start work within a couple of days, and finish in a timely manner. When we first purchased our house we needed quite a bit of work done on it. After scouring yelp for a construction company we came across Frontpoint Construction. We requested a consultation and they responded to us very promptly. Nick was thorough in explaining everything that needed to be done. When they finished our bathroom, kitchen, and roof we were left speechless. They were professional, efficient, affordable and exceeded all of our expectations. Did a full bathroom renovation with Frontpoint. Overall the final result was certainly positive with most aspects meeting our expectations. The communication was good and Ryan, our project manager, was very responsive. The issues that missed the 4 and 5-star mark include needing to redo several aspects of the job before they were done right. As a result, the job did take over three months. We were not in a hurry since we don't currently live in the unit but this would have been a cluster if we were living there. It seemed the job would have gone smoother if the on-site workers had a bit more supervision rather than us stopping by, seeing what was incomplete or shoddy, and than communicating with Ryan what the issues were so they could be rectified. To his credit, most of these issues were corrected after being made aware of them. I would warn anyone having grout work done to show a precise example of the grout you want before just stating the color (white, grey, black, etc). Our shower grout has the color and consistency of dark mud which is not what we expected or wanted. Not sure if this was they way this brand of grout was supposed to look or if there was an issue with mixing and applying the grout but it's not the usual grey smooth grout that we were expecting. Again, maybe a bit more supervision would have caught this early in the process. I understand that grout, once put down and dry, is not easily "fixable". We were given a small discount for our dissatisfaction with this aspect of the job. Frontpoint is probably not alone in struggling to find skilled labor to complete jobs like these in the Covid era. Not sure. The fact that we were not there to provide in-person feedback more often also added another layer of complexity. Did a great job on finishing our laundry room and building out a storage area in the basement. On time, professional and reliable. After having had numerous contractors in over the years, it was refreshing to be able to work with someone who delivered on what they promised without any hassle. I cannot recommend Nick and his team enough. We had scheduled a porch rebuild and the contractor cancelled on us last minute. I was in a bind and reached out to Nick and he came right out to give us a quote. His quote was fair and reasonable but more importantly he and his crew knew what they were doing. They worked so hard to get the job done quickly and efficiently and he communicated with me from the time we hired him through the completion of the project.
