We had a wonderful experience with this team. we had reached out to multiple different contractors and spoken with quite a few and had a lot of trouble with finding someone that was responsive and sounded as if they understood what we were looking for and provided multiple solutions. This is exactly what this team did for us. Christian was extremely responsive anytime we reached out and would always provide photos examples and his own recommendation as well. The work they did for us was adding a new room within our existing walls as well as trim work electrical outlets and adding a door in our bathroom, and this was all done while we were away, so we were never present on site. Because we were not present on site, Christian would give us daily updates with photos before and afters, and would always be available to take a call to discuss options. The work was completed exactly how we wanted it, professionally, respectful to our home, and a very reasonable rate. We plan to do more work on our house in the future years and we will only be using this team!! we highly recommend them to anyone looking for work to be done in their house! Thank you Christian and team for a wonderful job !

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Christian Lubinski as a general contractor. A project that was supposed to take two months ended up taking four months. We moved in with small children to find exposed electrical wires and unfinished items everywhere because the work was not completed on time, despite multiple extensions and commitments to do so. The project was a six-figure contract that went 25-30% over budget. This was not due to massive scope changes, but rather due to the unbelievable amount of nickel-and-diming. During the engagement, Christian's behavior was often unprofessional and difficult to deal with. There were constant emotional ups and downs. We never knew which Christian we would get or how he would respond to something. There were a number of times he hung up on us or yelled into the phone if we caught him on a bad day. On multiple occasions, Christian threatened to pull his workers off the job of the job saying he didn't need it. We felt like we had to walk on eggshells around him. I was operating under a tight deadline (balancing the sale of a house and delivery of a baby) or I would have fired them, but timing did not allow me to swap out contractors. Christian knew the situation I was in and took advantage of it. Once Christian pulled his crew off the job and had a complete meltdown, to the point where I felt like things might physically escalate between us while I was holding my newborn. After that, we asked him never to come back and only to send his workers to finish the job (this was post move-in during the touch-up phase). He apologized afterward and blamed stress. This emotional instability and lack of professionalism added a huge level of complexity to our project. I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring Christian Lubinski for their contracting needs to get a number of recent references that you can call. You can also reach out to me. In addition, and I cannot stress this enough, get every little detail, every inch of work, every screw, every door handle, in writing. The nickel-and-diming is something I have never experienced before. For example, we did a six-figure project, including a full kitchen remodel, and he left the original yellow paint-covered 25-year-old power outlets in the new white backsplash and wanted to charge us per outlet to replace each one. There are dozens of examples like this, and they never end. I was more than reasonable with Christian. I always took the time to try to connect with him, explain my point of view while understanding his, and was very disappointed. I expected to be over budget, I expected to be a bit behind schedule, but to blow the budget by tens of thousands, double the estimated time frame, constantly overcommit and underdeliver, and most importantly, have such poor professional and interpersonal communication is unacceptable. Finally, the craftsmanship is mediocre at best. Christian had a revolving door of junior to mid-level contractors especially towards the completion of the job when it was obvious that they wanted to move on ASAP and reallocated experienced folks to other jobs. When we met initially, he told us that he has a full-time crew that he operates, and he introduced us to them. That may be the case, but that is not who will be at your house on a daily basis. Those folks get shuffled around to their most important/profitable jobs that they are trying to win. We've been in this house for less than two years, we had a toilet leak (wasn't properly installed), there is a lot of cracking (drywall, grout etc), we had leaks on the first floor from grout that was placed less than two years ago. Most vanities have a water stain from U-traps that were not properly installed and leaked. Some plumbing finishes were not installed properly, etc. I have attached a few pictures as examples. There are also a number of warped/uneven drywall installations on new walls that they built. Again, be careful.

We have just finished a whole house remodel with Lubinski remodeling and have been thrilled. Christian was always available to answer questions and was flexible and patient with us throughout the job. With our loan, all work was inspected regularly, and this was never an issue as all the work was quality. When bidding our job, not all contractors welcomed inspections like lubinski remodeling did. Highly recommend Christian and his team.

We needed to replace a fix ceiling to drop down tile ceiling. As soon we received the cook county permit it was changed in two weeks. We needed to put back emergency lights. Cristian found an electrician to help with installation. It came out well installation. I am satisfied with the work performed in 2022.

An hour or so after he left, I ran the water in the vanity sink and there was a noticeable leak. He said he would come back a few days later to take a look. He returned and tightened the connections. I again ran the water after he left, and again there was dripping under the drain so I asked him back again. He came back again and did some more tightening and said it should be ok now. I again ran the water after he left and there was still a drip. I then texted him saying that I would like a refund of $350 of the $1100 he charged because the pipes were still leaking and he had already claimed twice that the problem was fixed when it wasn't. He refused and then tried to gaslight me saying actually there was no leaking. So if you want a plumber who doesn't stand by his work, then this is the guy for you (My response to his comments): For the record, here is the text exchange between Brad and Me (and yes I did say "please consider giving me a refund because I don't want to give you bad reviews"--and that is a reasonable response on my part given that I received service that is below what the average person would expect [i.e. 3 visits by the plumber and the sink trap is still dripping]. (From Craig): Brad, The vanity is still leaking and I can't devote any more time to this project, therefore I am requesting a partial refund of the money you charged me. I think a $350 refund would be reasonable. Craig (From Brad): I disagree, the last 2 times I came over there wasn't even a leak. I have gone beyond being reasonable and in reality I should be paid for 2 service calls. (From Craig): Many would ask for a larger if not full refund under these circumstances. Obviously there was a very noticeable leak after the first visit and a much smaller but still noticeable leak after the next 2 visits. Please reconsider because I don't want to give you bad reviews

$35,000 DISASTER FROM A SIMPLE CLOGGED TOILET!!!…read more We called "Emergency Plumbing" with a clogged toilet in August 2024. After their plumber visited us, we ended up with THREE ROOMS DESTROYED BY WATER AND SEWAGE, costing $35,000 IN REPAIRS that took SEVERAL MONTHS, and then later getting dropped by our brand new homeowners insurance due to the claim! "Emergency Plumbing" happily took my several hundred dollars in payment for "clearing the clogged toilet". They have offered no recompense for causing our massive loss. But, to their credit, they did say "sorry" a couple times. THE FULL, DISGUSTING, DANGEROUS, SAD STORY: In August 2024 I called about a clogged toilet I couldn't plunge clear. They were able to schedule a plumber for early in the morning. The plumber arrived, and first wanted to see my septic tank. He started to hand dig a bit towards the tank. A minute of digging got nowhere, so he decided to come inside and look at the toilet. He tried an auger to clear the clog, to no avail. So, he asked to see the sewer cleanout. We went to the basement, where things were about to go DANGEROUSLY BAD. We located it above a ceiling tile in the finished basement. He held a up small garbage bag and opened up the cleanout... A FIRE HOSE RIVER OF SEWAGE immediately began to spray out onto him and our finished basement. He panicked and asked for garbage cans / bags to catch the sewage river. My wife brought down some large utility garbage bags. The plumber and I held up and filled about 3-4 large bags of sewage over our heads during the next several minutes before the flow finally stopped and he could cap off the cleanout. He reassured me by saying, "sometimes stuff like this happens". We were both drenched in sewage from head to toe. Some had splashed in my eyes and mouth. He started to hand mop up the large sewage puddle with some paper towels. I told him "don't bother, this all will need a mitigation company". He replied, "all you really need is some soap and water". Ummm no. We dried off, shedded clothes and went back upstairs. The toilet still wouldn't drain, so he said he'd drive back to get the larger auger. He asked if I had any toilets upstairs, and I replied yes. He said "OK, you can use your upstairs toilet and shower, just don't use the clogged one down here". He left and I started to shower. After showering I came back down to the main floor to discover that SHOWER WATER WAS GUSHING OUT OF THE TOILET INTO OUR BATHROOM AND HALLWAY!!! More fun! In the second panic of the day, I tried my best to dam up the NEW RIVER OF WATER now FLOODING my main level hardwood floors. I ran downstairs to see even more water now soaking many ceiling tiles and raining onto the sauna and floor. I called the plumber and the head plumber agreed to come join the fun. He arrived, I explain the scene, and he said "Oh no, he should never have told you to use the fixtures upstairs". Oh no! The first plumber later returned with the larger auger. They managed to clear the clog with it. They did some hand mopping up of the now destroyed first floor powder room, hallway, hall closet, and living room. They asked for a check for several hundred dollars, said sorry for the problems, took my check and left. The next day we opted for a water & sewage mitigation company, rather than the plumber's recommendation of "soap and water". Over the next couple days, my wife and kids truly enjoyed watching the hardwood floors, powder room, drywall, and finished basement get ripped out of the house we had purchased just months before. Then we had four days of loud industrial fans and dehumidifiers to hopefully prevent any mold. Then a few weeks enjoying a half ripped apart house, no working first floor bathroom, rough hardwood cuts, nails, etc. Lots of fun for kids and wives alike. The insurance claim process and reconstruction took place over the next couple months. We had to cancel our Thanksgiving party, as we were still wrapping up the rebuild by then.In the weeks after the plumbing adventure, I texted and called the plumber, hoping to get some recompense for this disaster, maybe cover my insurance deductible, maybe even my money back? We talked on the phone once and I made my case. He didn't offer anything at all. Haven't heard from them since. I would love to avoid going to court and just have them do the right thing, make this right for a family of four whose second half of 2024 was ruined by their work. Does anyone stand by their work anymore? 0 STARS - CANNOT RECOMMEND FOR ANY PLUMBING WORK. Maybe the head plumber is good? But whatever junior plumber they sent to unclog my toilet basically destroyed much of my new house. They were arrived on time and were friendly to talk to, though, tiny bonus points for that. They responded and were going to escalate to their emergency team. They stopped responding after I asked about the cost. On Saturday morning J. Blanton reached out to me wanting to set up dispatch to have someone come and assess my issue. I declined as a I had set up another company to come to replace the expansion tank. The other company was totally incompetent so we sent them on their way. I called J. Blanton and talked to a human and paid for the No Drip Club for 1 year for the discount and to avoid all the extra charges. The plumbers that were dispatched were friendly and very competent. My only beef was the price charged to install a part that cost around $60. I agreed to have the work done as I was having a medical procedure done in 2 days and couldn't be without hot water. They went to get a new expansion tank and returned and took a pressure reading from my hose bib and set the air pressure in the tank to match. They installed the tank and had me verify I had hot water. They made sure the tank wasn't leaking at the connection point. The guys were great to deal with and they removed their shoes at the front door without being asked. I'd give 5 stars but still think it was too expensive. When these types of emergencies arise, I'll pay too much to get it repaired. I'll be keeping an extra expansion tank on hand so I can replace it myself the next this happens. They do get a ++ for talking to a human and not AI and got me back with hot water. The company that installed the heater told me they didn't have it in stock and couldn't get it until Monday. They would have charged as much or more and couldn't get the part until Monday. I would hire J. Blanton if I needed them again. I can't say that for the company that installed it.

Their site showed 5-star reviews, which is also a scam. They offered to send someone the same day and since we had water accumulating in a basement stairwell, I said yes. He came two days in a row, inspected the sewer line, (which I told him had been cleaned this year,) and rodded a sink. He wanted to send an excavation crew to dig up my finished basement floor to find the problem and reconnect new lines to the sewer, which is under our cement driveway. I was pressured to sign up for a subscription "to lower the cost" for this work. Instead, I called our wonderful local Riverside Plumbing and Heating, making sure to bypass the scammy phone links this time. Drew diagnosed the broken pipe in our 100 yr old house and made a plan in minutes to reroute our washer and sink to an existing stack. He did all the work in one day WITHOUT excavating our basement floor or driveway. Everything works perfectly and as a bonus, it solved a "gurgling" noise that had been coming from a powder room sink.
