I saw him posting a lot of good pictures online and I figured i thought I'd give him a shot. We got in touch we spoke about a few jobs I have that I need help with and he said he can help me. I told him the requirements that we have and he said no problem he can get this to us. - Insurance certificate with our name on it before he starts working. - Take before, During and After pictures. This was June 19th week. June 23rd. I contacted him asking him if he was still planning on going to the clients home on Saturday to do the work. He responded yes. He told me it would be done by Sunday. It wasn't and he didn't contact me to let me know. (Very frustrating as I shouldn't be continuously contacting him). The job wasn't done over the weekend. The job was supposedly going to be done on the following Tuesday but it didn't until Wednesday. I understand weather permitting, however he never told me that he was coming out the following day. Wednesday supposedly the job was completed but it wasn't. This was a 1 man - 2 day job and pretty cut and dry project. Thursday June 29th I reached out to Dan about his project. I had to stop out at the property to find the fence installed has major issues since he never sent me the pictures. 1. Posts are loosely in the ground. They move and jiggle around. They aren't solidly in the ground as they should be. 2. The fence is chipped and cracked in several areas along the hinge areas very visible. 3. One post is being held up by a bungie cord - because the post isn't solid and is loose. 4. One post is crooked. 5. On one side of the home the fence isn't flush with the home as it should be. There is a piece of fence between the gas meter and the post loosely standing there. 6. The hinges on the left side of the garage are facing out and the one on the right side of the home are on the inside. 7. The gate can't open clearly due to the gas meter being in the way. Per the previous fence the gate opened as it was in the middle. 8. The gate on the left side was supposed to be 48" and 36" on the right side. He responded blaming me for picking out the worst materials to have installed. "Clients choice". It's a crappy installation. See the attachments. Dan asked me what I'm charging for labor and I responded; What I charge for labor or for the job has NOTHING to do with your quality of work period! He offered to have this fixed on the 4th of July and I declined as my client is having guests over this holiday weekend. This should have been fixed before the weekend not when it's convenient for him. This crappy installation can hurt my business reputation. He has used volger language with me and has threatened me because I've brought this to his attention. I had to get my attorney involved as he's acting out of control instead of fixing the problem so he can get paid. Update 7/13/18 The project is still incomplete. Unfortunately we have had to get our attorney involved since Dan has made severe threats after leaving this review online. Additionally he isn't willing to work with us and get it done how our contract with our client states. "Dans texts below; The next thing I say to you will be face to face. I'm done with the text talk. Maybe reconsider the way you talk to people, it may run some the wrong way I FUCKING TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES. Apparently you can't read or were ignoring it. lol..... sue me......for damage I did or material I wasted of yours? Emotional distress? I'm done with this for today guy. Well took soon I see you went on my Yelp page you big fat fuckin piece of shit. I was goin to let this go, but you changed my mind" I don't want the gates flipped as Dan wants to do because there will be holes empty or filled looking like junk. I want the posts replaced, and gates that are broken replaced. Sadly if he doesn't do it per my instructions which I've messaged him a few times about I will have to have it removed and redone. I wish I read all reviews about his company before hiring him. Stay Away!!!!

Project completed: 7/29/2024…read more Highlight of my project: 1. Satisfied price. 2. Estimated to finish in 3 days by different painters but they actually finished in 2 days and maintained the good quality of work. I seldom write reviews. However, Best Homes Construction's professional services and good quality of work deserve me to take my time to write this review. It is a small business which needs more customers' reviews to support them and reflect their good works. Initially, I had my estimate request to another company but Yelp, automatically, sent the estimate requests to a few other companies as well. Best Homes Construction was one of them. Based on the price, the details shown on the estimate, communication response and the professional manner of the staff I met, I decided to hire Best Homes Construction/Best Homes Painting for my painting project. Response: 1. During this project, Henry always responded to me in a timely and professional manner. 2. The estimate was provided on the same day after the company's visit. Estimate: 1. Before setting up the appointment for the on-site estimate, I was provided a price range. 2. Henry and his staff arrived in uniform on time and with their professional manner. 3. The estimate was emailed in details. It contained the breakdowns of the estimate, forms of payment, daily work hours, etc. 4. The estimate did not include the paint but there're options for customers to choose. The customers could buy the paint themselves or the company can buy for them with an additional service charge. If the customers buy their own paints, the company would provide a list of what is needed. 5. The estimate of my project was out of the price range. However, Henry took initiation to give me a discount to match with the price range. Painters: 1. Rolando and Richard were always in their professional and respectful manner. 2. The quality of their work was great. 3. They took action immediately to meet my request. That's a great customer service. 4. I could tell they have spent so much effort in wrapping up this project. That's beyond the 5 stars. Overall, I was very happy with the result. Thank Henry, Rolando and Richard for the great work and effort! Please keep it up! When I got my receipt, I was told that the company also does floor, bath and kitchen remodeling besides painting. That's very nice to know about it.

My husband contacted someone for painting services, and I contacted a few others for quotes. The first person to respond to me was Excellence Painting! Gerardo was so fast with email response time, and he was the ONLY company that could come and see the place that same day I called him. We scheduled for him to come to our place at 5PM (to provide an estimate) and he was on time! He came in, was very friendly, and walked around to see what work we were looking to get painted, and left. Later that evening, he was the only one that sent me an email with a quoted estimate. I asked him for an estimate for labor only, and then with paint. He provided both estimates! After reviewing multiple quotes, I decided to go with Excellence Painting because I felt that Gerardo, from the beginning, was very professional, and responded in a timely fashion! I felt I could count on him and his crew! He was also very competitively priced!!! The next day, Gerardo stopped by the place, and helped me finalize paint colors based on what I was looking for. He told me he would start the next day, but had a project in the morning to complete, so he would come in the afternoon. He came later in the afternoon (around 6-ish), and he started the painting. Then he came the next day with his crew, and finished the majority of the place. He finished everything yesterday! The place looks beautiful, as I will add photos of his work. My husband and I are VERY HAPPY!!!! Biggest thing for me - Gerardo was ALWAYS responsive, we primarily spoke through email, but he would respond within 5-10 minutes! He was always very energetic and happy! Whenever he said he would do something, he did it! He was never late, he was very articulate and detailed! I would absolutely 1000% recommend him!!!! I am very lucky to have met a great person such as Gerardo, and we will absolutely be using his company again for future painting needs!

Just say no to this operation until Nathan figures out how to run his business. I had a horrid…read moreexperience with his company. By the looks of it, Living Social is giving him a lot of business and unfortunately he doesn't have the crew or organization skills to handle the volume of work. At first, it was extremely hard to even get a confirmed time to paint my place once Nathan came in and gave me an estimate. There was a lot of talk and promises to get back to me ASAP which never happened until I nagged over and over to please put something on the calendar. I don't think this business has a calendar. Appointments are handled via text and need constant babysitting/reminders to make sure that they actually happen. Don't get me wrong, Nathan is a nice person but is simply incapable of executing. He told me that he didn't have enough people to do the work and that he was hiring more contractors. I was annoyed but content thinking that it must mean his company does great work. Right? Wrong. When I finally had the appointment finalIzed, 2 guys showed up who clearly did not want to be there. They took breaks to smoke and relax and complained about the amount of work they have to do. Like what? Weren't you hired to do the work and aren't you getting paid for it? Mind you, it's not a 5 bedroom mansion we are talking about. I have a 1 bedroom apartment that is 810 sq ft. Ok, complain away as long as the quality of work was good, right? Wrong again. I am attaching the pics of their work for you to see, just so that you know I'm not just venting. I have hardwood floors and it was splattered with paint because they didn't have enough coverings to protect the floor. In fact they arrived with NO floor covers at all and had to leave to bring them. What painting pros get to the work site without basic necessities to do the job? The paint drops were alsoon my bathroom window, tiles and sinks. They also messed up my coat rack because instead of taking it off the wall, they decided to paint around it and of course painted directly on the mahogany wood of the rack. When I noticed what they did, they promptly removed the rack and tried to remove said paint and when all of it didn't come off, they gave me an advice on how to remove it myself. There were so many spots on walls that weren't painted through, I stopped counting and pointing them out. By 5pm one of the contractors faded entirely and just sat there talking about what he's going to do when he gets home and what type of food he's going to eat. So I paid them, saw them out and immersed myself in paint removal off the floor and other surfaces. I texted Nathan the next day and told him about my experience. I sent him the pics of the shoddy work. He appeared to be furious and straight out said "You're absolutely right. I just don't see how they did such crappy work... I'm going to give them a call to see what hell... That's just pure laziness and carelessness." I was being understanding and told him that he should probably reconsider hiring these guys again if he cares about the reputation of his business as much as he says he does. He promised to come out and fix everything as soon as possible. We scheduled for Friday afternoon and... I didn't hear from him. Two Friday's later, I sent him a text and told him that he obviously doesn't care about the company's reputation and that I don't even want to deal with this anymore. Needless to say, I do not recommend this business to anyone. Stay away.

Scott responded to my inquiry immediately, set up a time that was convenient for me to come over, and give me a quote. The extremely convenient thing is he was able to do the painting while I was out of town. He was very candid offering to give me references and making the excellent point that he's trying to make a living on his one man business which is good enough for me! We got home after our trip and everything was not only perfectly painted, but he also wiped down all of the surfaces and it was almost as if he wasn't even there (basically). He also finished the project for less than he quoted me, as someone else said, and that was nice too. I will certainly be using him again once my sister and I can agree on paint colors beyond the white ceilings :)

I do NOT recommend Ron and his company R-Deco…read more OVERPRICED Ron provides quotes that are extremely overpriced, at about 2x the price of any other company. A recent example was for a siding replacement project where he quoted almost 2x the nearest 3 companies who were all licensed, insured, and bonded (more on that later) and over 2x the lowest priced company who was not. And this was on a project in an HOA that he'd been working on for over a decade, so his bid should have come in the lowest of all because he'd already done the work for numerous other homes/units. UNCOMMUNICATED SCOPE CHANGES For the two projects I received a quote from Ron, both had their scope so drastically modified from what was requested by me that the projects and their prices were incomparable to what was actually needed. On the first project I asked for one door and 1/4 of a window to be recaulked, and he came back with an extremely expensive quote that was actually for caulking basically the entire exterior of my home/unit. On the second project I asked for all the siding to my rooftop penthouse to be replaced and he came back with a quote for just 4 of 12 panels to be replaced, without ever mentioning the scope change, perhaps so he could have me blindly sign the contract thinking I was getting what I wanted at a reasonable price when I would really only get 1/3 of what I asked for. EXCESSIVE DEPOSIT Ron charges a 60% deposit at contract signing and 50% of the remainder a week before the project begins, essentially requiring he is paid 80% of the already 2x overpriced job 1 week before any work even begins. This leaves absolutely no negotiating power to the buyer as Ron has already made all his profit and can just walk away or do a terrible job as he pleases. This kind of deposit is also completely out of line with industry standard, where companies require deposits of 50% or less, not 80%. RELUCTANT TO PROVIDE CREDENTIALS Ron won't provide you with either his license (which he doesn't seem to actually have, later on that), his insurance, or his bond information upfront like any other legitimate contractor. He requires that you sign his contract before he will provide you any of this. That's like someone claiming they're an airplane pilot but requiring you to commit to flying with them and only offering to show you their "credentials" when you're already on the plane and the doors are locked. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. LICENSING NOT FOUND Perhaps the reason Ron doesn't provide his credentials like licensing is that he in fact is NOT licensed, at least certainly not as a roofing contractor per the IDFPR website, though he advertises these services. He also cannot be found in the Chicago contractor database, even though he wanted to perform such General Contractor and/or Electrical license requiring tasks like swapping out an electrical exterior GFCI outlet during my siding project. Apparently he has been working in my HOA for over a decade, with the only reason that I've found so far being that he's the only one that's offered as an option for work by the HOA and Owner's just go with him to avoid the hassle of finding someone else. Of the 5 Owners that I've talked to though, all have negative experiences with him, including for overpricing and bad/not complete work. I will be recommending my HOA never work with Ron and his company R-Deco again and I would recommend you avoid him and his company as well.
