I needed to get my master bedroom painted, 3 new window frames painted, and fix my closet door. The job took approx 7 hours to complete. Timing: Juan was on-time and was able to meet my tight deadline. Quality: Very professional, my wife and I were very happy with the superior work. Price: Competitive price but worth every penny! They went above and beyond my expectations. We will def use them if we ever need any other services completed on time, with diligence and care to our place. Highly recommended! read more

Definitely would use them again in the future. Very fair pricing, prompt and reliable, and also high quality work. I needed a ceiling replaced after a leak above my shower and they were able to replace and paint the new drywall, as well as the wall paint that got damaged too. Because I wasn't able to be there, they sent me video of the finished work, as well as clean up they did afterward! read more

I met Juan through Angi's and I am so thankful that I did. I originally wanted the contractors to fix a poor DIY job I had done to patch some drywall. They wanted $500 to replace the job but Juan took a look at my pictures and offered $150 dollars instead to smoothen out the wall. He definitely could also recommended a full drywall patch job but instead recommended a more efficient job (and saved me money in the meanwhile!). Amazing service, very prompt, and communicated after my work hours which was also amazing. Adding pictures of my work before and after his save. Truly remarkable work at a great price. read more

Juan and team have done great work for a lot of walls in my condo. They're timely, kind, and do great work. They made things easy for me: I emailed Juan my paint selection(s) (after doing some sampling myself) and they bought the paint before they arrived for the job(s), saving me time and some money. This was the first time I was in search of painting contractors and I'm please we got lucky with our first choice! read more

Juan was very helpful with our drywall when our roof leaked. His prices are very reasonable and his communication is great. Really nice guy. I would definitely use his company again. Thank you. read more

the paint job was pretty good. communication was horrible. he would schedule something and not show. not good at returning calls.

Juan and his crew were nothing short of amazing! They transformed our house and we couldn't be happier. This project included extensive work with plaster repair, drywall repair, painting of our doors, trim, windows, picture rails, painting of all walls and ceilings. Juan and his crew are so talented and hard-working. We can't thank them enough for their work. The attention to detail is what made this project look amazing. We could not believe how thorough Juan and team were with prepping the space. All the prep made for beautiful end result. Will recommend Juan to anyone I know looking for painters! read more

Very unreliable and unprofessional!!! Juan Ramirez came out for an onsite walk-through and said he would call me with a quote. Never heard back from Juan Ramiez despite my repeated calls and voice mails to him. This man does not honor his word. Complete waste of my time. read more

Their lack of response is very unprofessional. They came onsite for a consultation 6/24/22 and said they'd send the quote the next day. After two weeks of not receiving the quote (and i did check my inbox, spam and deleted items folder), I called Juan H Ramirez who did the consult to follow up on 7/5/22. He said he would send the quote later that day. I didn't receive it on 7/6/22, so I left a message and email (jhr@jhrcolorsyourworld.com). There was no response to either. I called again on 7/7/22 and still no response. I do NOT recommend going through this company at all if they are like this before a project even begins! read more

Juan and his crew were wonderful. They repainted most of the interior of my 3-bedroom coach house in 4 days and did a fantastic job! Juan's quote was right in line with others I recieved, but he was an easy choice for me because he seemed like a genuinely nice and honest guy. His crew was great (all 4 of them) and were very respectful of my space while they were here. I plan to hire them again! read more

Recently hired Juan and his crew to remove a popcorn ceiling in a condo I recently purchased. Could not be happier with the work and overall experience. Juan keeps in constant communication to let you know the status and when to expect completion. The workers showed up on time every day and did a fantastic job - at an extremely fair price. I shopped around with several contractors, some never bothered to reply, others wanted an outrageous sum. Juan was the perfect combination of responsiveness, fair price and total professionalism. It is always a risk hiring a contractor you've never worked with before - but I can attest, you will not be disappointed with JHR Colors and Juan. read more

I had a small drywall, painting and baseboard project for my condo. I solicited quotes from several vendors with varying ranges of estimates. Juan at JHR was extremely responsive and competitive. I decided to engage Juan and schedule the work date. He was on time, very respectful of the condo, and wow very quick! I've had some good and bad contractors but Juan was exceptional. I will be using Juan for any similar needs going forward. If you're looking for a quick, quality, and trustworthy experience, JHR is a great option. read more

I wanted to give Juan a great review, he and his family did work hard to do the painting. However, he did not complete the work and charged extra for a bathroom that was initially quoted. I had my windows replaced and he was consulted, he indicated that he could easily do the work, we spoke multiple times prior to him starting the job. The job required the refitting of crown modeling and he was not prepared for this, despite specifically indicating my concern. He did actually go and buy a new saw to complete the project, however, clearly his first attempt at doing this. The corners are not aligned with the drywall and a small insert placed. He indicated he would come back to look at it multiple times but continued to cancel. 3 months later it still looks terrible and he has not contacted me to repair the poor craftsmanship. He really is a nice guy and did some reasonable work, however, spending that much money and he left the reason he was contracted unfinished and looking terrible. It indicates to me that he does not respect his work or my home. It is appropriate that Juan you would respond a year after the review. I appreciate that you purchased a brand new miter saw, not knowing how to make cuts. All of the seams are flaked and I still need to correct the misaligned crown molding. You are welcome to correct the issues at any point. Please stop by to to discuss or call. I just want it to be right. Even with you paint of choice. read more

JHR Colors Your World came the next day after I requested a quote. Within a day a quote was provided. Once work was scheduled his workers arrived on time and prepared with tools and supplies needed to complete the job. They covered floors and doors with paper and plastic to keep the dust contained to the area of work. They wore mask and gloves, worked efficiently and cleaned up everything when the job was complete. Very pleasant and courteous. I would recommend this company. read more

Purchased a home in Chicago in March 2020. My boyfriend was coming down the stairs and slipped on a turn, when he grabbed onto the railing for support it ripped out of the wall (see photos). Luckily he was not hurt seriously. Contacted Juan to come look at the wall for repair and he quickly realized that almost all of the railing brackets (over 20 on four different floors) were drilled into the drywall, not the studs, and thus a safety issue. Unfortunately the inspection report made no comment on this but once Juan pointed it out I could see multiple bracket footings bulging out of dry wall. Again, while my boyfriend wasn't seriously injured as he was on a landing this could have been much more serious if someone tried to grab onto railing on one of the steeper section of my stairs. Anyways, I won't go into too much detail, but Juan and his team worked with me to find the safest way to repair all the existing hand railing mounted into the wall without having to change everything. The railing is now all secure in place with brackets in the studs and as you can see in the photos below their patch work & paint job on over 20 brackets that had to be re-positioned was wonderful. The price was also quite reasonable. Now going to have them work on an unfinished room next and will definitely continue to use them for my home repair needs. read more

The job was done very well and in one day. I would give him more work when I needed it. The Hallway kooks great.

Juan did an outstanding job painting and caulking my bathroom. He was also able to include the price of the paint and finish. He worked very quickly, but did not sacrifice quality. Other painters asked three times as much for the same project. He is also very friendly and personable. JHR and Juan are highly recommended. read more

Juan and his team are outstanding professionals. I'm a real estate broker who often needs to get apartments and houses painted in order to get them ready for market. I've used Juan and his crew exclusively after meeting them two years ago. They have never disappointed me - or my sellers - who have all been thrilled with Juan's quality of work and his competitive pricing.
