Scrambled eggs (jalapeño added) & grits
Carmen S.

Tucked in the neighborhood of the Heights. You order at the counter when you first walk in, get your buzzer, then self-serve utensils & condiment station, then seat yourself. If you are trying to decide to visit this location or Bellaire...this location provides a much larger comfortable & inviting dining space to sit & converse over your food as well as outdoor seating. The other location is much smaller & when busy, not as much privacy & more inclined to leave as soon as you finish eating. Food: Scrambled Eggs, onions added (9/10)- flavorful without adding any salt or pepper. Maple sausage (9/10) has a nice soft spiciness. Hash browns (9/10) are thinly shredded potatoes full of flavor. Cannot figure out what they are seasoned with. Grits (8/10)- creamy, little thick don't need to add anything to them. French toast with blueberry & lemon, (7/10)- Flavor toppings work well together, toast is soft throughout. It cooled off very fast so it wasn't really warm when I ate it. I'd try pancakes next time. Parking: Parking is very limited in front of the building & a little street parking so you might get lucky. Otherwise, the free valet booth is right in front of the building.

Chilaquiles

This place is pretty busy on the weekend but had great reviews so I decided to go back and grab it to go during a weekday. The chilaquiles was really good. It comes with chicken and of course, all the usual ingredients in Chilaquiles but I like to get my scrambled with extra cheese added. I was a little disappointed. They didn't have any fajita beef, but the chicken was still really good. I will definitely go back to get the full dining experience.

I really wanted to like Dandelion Cafe, but the food just did not do it for me. The space itself has a really nice aesthetic. It is large, and I was able to easily find parking, which I appreciated. I ordered the breakfast platter with eggs, hash browns, chicken sausage, and pancakes. The eggs came with shredded cheese that was not melted, which I did not enjoy. The hash browns were not my favorite, and the chicken sausage was a bit dry. The pancake was good, though. The highlight for me was the coffee. That was actually really good, and I would come back for that. Its mostly self service as you order then you receive a buzzer and seat yourself.

Dandy classic

Resilience, hope, transformation = dandelion Met some friends on a Saturday at 11 am. It's snuggled up among a neighborhood, close to a park. There is small lot as well as street parking. It was busy. When you get inside there's a holder with menus inside, grab one. There will be a line. You follow it through a short maze to the register where you order. Do not find a table. There's a sign this says you may be asked to get up because of their process. There's inside and outside seating. The menu isn't huge and they do have specials. There's a selection of breakfast items and a small lunch menu. There are cocktails of course too. I went basic since this was my first time and ordered the dandy classic - Choice of bacon, maple sausage, pollo sausage, chorizo or avocado w/2 eggs, roasted hashbrowns, choice of toast. My order: 2 eggs over easy, pollo sausage and sourdough toast The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy which was a win and the pollo sausage was so very delicious; the roasted hash browns were simultaneously crispy and tender soft at the same time and the sourdough toast was not overly dense, I did get strawberry jam which I think might be made in house. Very nice. I had a strawberry lemonade to wash it all down. You pick up your drinks at the bar and there is a buzzer that you leave on your table (has a number) and they bring the food to you. There is a little counter that has silverware, napkins and water. Overall, we had a nice experience, The staff is amazing. The cashier was friendly and not overwhelmed from how busy they were. The guy that delivered the food was so sweet and funny and the staff member that picked up our plates told us it wasn't as busy as usual - say what? I thought it was super busy. The only small thing that was a bit annoying was they charged $1 for the sourdough bread which isn't a big deal but when she asked me what kind of toast - white, wheat or sourdough, there was no mention of an up charge. I would have gotten the sourdough anyway but I like the info. It might have been listed somewhere but I didn't notice it and the cashier never mentioned it. Def would come back but maybe during the week.

Strawberry Fresca, smoothing

I'm so glad Dandelion cafe was my breakfast option of the day. We got their chicken and waffles, it was honestly a big portion size so we were able to share. The chicken was really crispy and well seasoned. Pair with the syrup and spicy butter, a good combo. Their strawberry agua Fresca was delicious as well. I wasn't really impressed with the honey berry smoothie. It was thick or rich, I think requesting an alternative milk than almond milk will rectify that.

Better than the first time I came! Busy on a Friday midday during the holidays so the line to order was long. Gingerbread latte was a good size, very fragrant and festive, I really enjoyed it! The chilaquiles was very tasty, the chips were a nice thickness and crunch. The eggs on top made it filling and protein packed, all the flavors made this a nice savory dish. Would get this again!

I ended up at Dandelion Café after my first breakfast option fell through, and honestly it turned into a great little discovery. I ordered the Dandy Breakfast with eggs over medium, maple sausage, and swapped the toast for a biscuit with apple jam. The food itself was delicious, but about half my order came out wrong, different sausage and strawberry jam instead of what I asked for. I was starving so I just rolled with it, and what I did get still hit the spot. The space has a lot of charm. There's great outdoor seating if the weather cooperates, and the inside is cute without trying too hard. One of my favorite touches was the "make your own mimosa" setup where you can pick your own juice. Little details like that make the place feel fun and personal. Despite the mix-up, I'd definitely come back. Good food, relaxed vibe, and a nice surprise for a backup breakfast plan.

I visited this location for the first time with my friend. There isn't a lot of parking available but valet is offered as an option. The place is very cozy and nice with lots of seating area. You place your order as you come in and take a pager back to your seat for your food to be brought to you. All the employees were super kind and attentive! I ordered the salmon bagel, iced matcha and chocolate muffin. I would say that my food ($13), drink ($6.5) and muffin (4.5) were affordable! I really liked my meal and would definitely come back to get the same thing! The matcha was also good! I like how it had a good balance of sweetness!

Absolutely a 10/10 every single time. The wait can be crazy on a weekend but the line moves quickly and is absolutely worth it. The new location in the heights is a welcome addition and much easier to get to for me than the bellaire location. Food is phenomenal. Service is always incredible & they have my absolutely favorite latte there. always recommending the Brown sugar babe!!! Ugh can't wait to go back!

Migas

Good food, friendly staff! Seems to stay busy & you stand in line to order so if you're in a rush just be aware you'll have to stand in line! Worth the wait for sure!

Maple Sausage

We arrived around noon on a Saturday and it was jamming! This is the kind of place where you make your order at the counter and then find an empty table to sit. Line was quite long but moved fairly quickly. Very cute place! They have inside and outside seating. Drinks: Lavender Dream Latte and Brown Sugar Baby Latte. Excellent coffee!! Their beverages menu has so many great sounding options. Food: Lemon Blueberry French Toast, Pancakes (added strawberries), Housemade Biscuits with jams and a side of maple sausage. The French toast was absolutely delicious! So flavorful and the candied lemon peel was sweet and such a nice touch. Pancakes were large and fluffy but lacked a bit in the flavor department. Beware of the biscuits, although it says 3 it is really 6!! Biscuits were lovely, buttery and dense. The jams that accompanied them were yummy, the strawberry being the best of the 3. The maple sausage is a must! So good!! Overall great breakfast spot and would definitely come back.

Popped in spontaneously before grocery shopping. Decent pastry selection and a good coffee bar. They also have seated breakfast / brunch an outdoor patio! Yum! Need to come back for brunch as we opted for grab n go banana bread and lemon bread!

Love the idea of order then get to go get your seat. Staffs was helpful on making sure I got everything how I wanted and didn't overpay or get too much food so they modified things for me! The buy one get one for a penny mimosas on Monday was great! All food was great quality and flavorful . Bar area was a little dirty but didn't take much for them to come around and clean . Cute interior parking is a little hit or miss . But would definitely recommend

They also have a spacious parking lot, which was convenient. Since I had my dog with me, I stepped inside briefly to confirm that the patio was open before settling in. I greeted the young woman at the counter and asked if patio seating was available. She responded, "Yes, because dogs are not allowed inside." That felt unnecessary. I was clearly asking about the patio for that exact reason. I was not attempting to sit indoors, and I understand health regulations. She then added that the Houston Health Department could walk in at any moment. Again, I was not trying to dine inside. I simply wanted to confirm patio access so I could enjoy a coffee outside. I asked if someone would be outside to take my order. She said no. So I asked if she could take my order right then so I could immediately head out to the patio. She agreed, but her tone and demeanor felt dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. If the patio is dog friendly, there should be a smoother process for solo customers with pets. A simple, "Yes, the patio is open. Let me take your order now so you can head outside," would have made this quick and easy. Advisory: If you are visiting with a dog, I would recommend bringing another person with you. If you are alone, the ordering process may be awkward, as you cannot remain inside with your dog while placing your order. I would have happily spent money here, but the service made the visit feel more procedural than welcoming.

This is where the greatness ends. Almond croissant was 3 stars. It's open faced with the almond paste dolloped on top in the middle, and then it's drowned in powdered sugar. No. Ordered a matcha separately after looking over the menu...requested to be made with oat milk and added vanilla syrup. Total for the drink alone was over $9 with the substitution/addition and it came in an Itty bitty tall size (Starbucks reference) cup. Bland, slightly gritty, nah. I am not a matcha purist, but I prefer it over coffee, and I got excited for vanilla flavor (basic, I know) only to be rewarded with nothing. Not sure if I would return to try other baked items. Stopped by because I thought there would be more kolache options but there was only one, which had pork (bacon) in it. Sigh.

Step inside and you'll find a wonderfully mixed crowd: tech people typing furiously, students contemplating existential dread over a flat white, fashion-forward creatives in boots so white they defy known urban physics -- and yes, that includes me. One corner of the room is charmingly not quite tidy, as if the café itself were whispering: "Relax. Real life happens here." Industrial ducts snake overhead, large windows flood the space with natural light, and sociability seems to circulate as freely as the air. Now, the coffee: a revelation. The espresso is concentrated civilization -- exactly as it should be -- and the cappuccino is an elegant balance of foam and depth, not one of those half-liter dairy-fatigue exercises from anonymous multi-national chains-that-shall-not-be-named. The staff? Friendly, knowledgeable, and disarmingly competent -- the sort of people who know precisely why this bean tastes like citrus and chocolate instead of simply shrugging at the universe. In sum: Tenfold isn't just a café; it's a microcosm of a city that thrives on difference. A place where everyone, no matter their background, finds caffeine, community, and a seat at the table. For all of that -- the atmosphere, the humanity, the coffee artistry -- five stars, unequivocally.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

The nuttiness of the sesame goes SOOO well with the espresso taste and it's a good creaminess too. I also like the texture of the bits of sesame seeds in the drink. The aesthetic of the cafe is modern with street-style flairs, it's a really cool space. I also love that there are Filipino flavors on the menu like ube and pandan. Thankfully I didn't have anywhere to be, because if you're stopping in before work or during a tight schedule, definitely plan ahead and expect a wait. The only real downside for me was the timing and ordering process. Spending close to $10 on one coffee plus waiting that long makes this feel more like an occasional treat rather than an everyday coffee run. I'll admit I may have been a little cranky from the wait, but I do think it's fair feedback. Overall though, my coffee was delicious, and because of that, I would absolutely give them another chance. My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.
