I've been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed sitting in the bar area -- they have adorable little half-booths that make the experience feel special. So when I was able to grab a same-day 5:30pm reservation specifically for the bar, I was excited and assumed I'd be seated at one of those cozy booths or at least a reasonable table. Instead, when I checked in, I was escorted to a table literally between the waiter station and two employees folding linens. It felt like an afterthought -- definitely not the experience you expect from an expensive restaurant where you're planning to spend good money. I politely asked the host if there was another option because the lounge area had several open tables. Instead of making any effort to help, she told me those tables were "requested" and basically said that since I made my reservation today, this bad table was all I could expect. No apology, no empathy, no customer-service mindset -- just snooty, condescending attitude. I even asked if I could be put on a waiting list for a regular table, and she dismissed that too, telling me it wouldn't be until "probably 9 PM." It was clear they weren't interested in offering any solution at all. For a restaurant of this caliber, the attitude and lack of hospitality were shocking. The experience was upsetting enough that it completely changed how I view this place, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning anytime soon. And apparently dont make same day reservations. We all work hard for our money and don't need to be treated in this manner. read more

Once you walk in you can tell this place is a cut above the rest as your transported back in time to a old fancy styled sit down restaurant with the low lighting, white table clothes and comfortable black booth and chair seatings. Please have your front of the house say hi to your customers and pretend like we matter. It was a Wednesday night. We spent $800 at your restaurant. Waitress: 4 . She was nice and efficient. GM: Lawrence. When he was told. He said he won't say anything tonight to the hostess. He did apologize. Valet: attitude. Once again. And on CAMERA, we caught him urinating on our car. We said nothing to set this off. Once again, Lawrence said it was someone else. We have a video of the entire incident. Shame on you Dal Rae. Your restaurant has ZERO class. Poor customer service. Dal Rae is a staple in SGV- something I learned as part of my visit! The restaurant itself is located in Pico Rivera and feels a little misplaced given its surroundings. Parking is valet only- something that didn't quite make sense to me either given the vast parking available- it just seems unnecessary for the lot size and the already ample parking. The service was fine but felt a little... disjointed. For the steakhouse experience, I felt that there was little coordination of wine pouring as well as knowing the available wines. We had to re-select from the wine menu because something was not available. Anywho- the food itself was good. We loved their bread options, and the couple appetizers like the salad and calamari were good. I personally enjoyed my prime rib with ample sauce and cooked to medium. read more

Dal Rae is a steakhouse in Pico Rivera. It's been there for a long time. The food is great and so is the service. My family loves steak and it's fairly close to all our houses so it's a great option for us. It's become a favorite for special occasions. The food and service is always great. We definitely have favorites now. For appetizers, we have ordered oysters, crab cake, fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms with crab, and popcorn shrimp. All of them were good. Oh and the in house made Caesar salad! That is a must order. They say one order is for two people but we've split it amongst our family. For entrees, my favorite is their Chilean sea bass with garlic mashed potatoes. However, the rest of my family love their steak. They have order prime rib, the bone in ribeye, and the filet mignon. I have also tried their swordfish but I just go back to the sea bass. My dad also likes veal so he's ordered the veal osso buco which he liked too. For desserts, we've ordered their soufflés! It's not on the menu but you can ask for them and you have to order them when you first order since they take about 30 min to make. We have also ordered their crème brûlée and New York cheesecake. They were able to seat 2 of us right away at 7:45pm on a Friday night. Unfortunately we were seated right next to the live music, which was very good but also very loud. We were also right near the kitchen, so it was a very busy area of the restaurant in general. Ordered the spaghetti with meatball (one giant meatball) and the mushroom rigatoni. Came here for a business dinner with some clients. Great spot, very nice inside, but keep it dimly lit for a perfect ambiance. Feels like I stepped into a spot Good Fellas would dine at nightly. Classic Steakhouse. The servers and staff were amazing, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and we had some great mixed drinks and drafts. (Stella of course) I got the Bone in Ribeye, medium rare (the only cut you should order in my opinion) tender and full of flavor, marbled with fat, just the right amount. It was delicious. Comes with fried onions on top, a side of veggies and I got brown rice as my other side. I opted for a starter salad as well with Blue Cheese. They have excellent Blue Cheese, one of my favorites. I would recommend coming and splurging a bit, whether it is your diet or on your budget, it is worth the indulgence once in a while to enjoy a really nice dinner at a great historic spot. Came here to celebrate my friend & i's birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and fancy. We came as a walk in but reservations are recommended - luckily we didn't have to wait. FYI parking lot is valet only - it'll be hard to find street parking nearby and it's $6 (they do take card if you don't have cash). We got the sea bass, prime rib, cream corn & various forms of potatoes as sides lol. Prime rib was delicious and flavorful - really enjoyed it. Sea bass was good but I don't know, I didn't love the flavor personally. Cream corn had high potential, but i don't know if it was just ours but it was way too salty. The flavor was good though. One of our most memorable experiences. Marcy is wonderful. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table in a professional and expeditious fashion, even though it was quite busy. Marcy exudes such professionalism that this restaurant should be proud of. To start your dining experience this way is truly a privilege. Our waitperson Ileen (I hope my spelling is correct), was one of the best we've ever had. She possessed knowledge, courteousness, kindness and every detail with our dining experience, no matter how minute was handled with aplomb. When asked about her recommendations, she explained some dining options in great detail, without referring to notes. I was very impressed with her knowledge of everything Dal Rae and as with our interaction with Marcy, Ileen in her area of expertise was a true superstar. Thank you, Dal Rae management, for once again allowing us the privilege of dining in your amazing and iconic restaurant and these two individuals exude the best and the heart of what you're all about. World class customer service, fantastic entrees and a heightened dining experience. Came here for Dine LA. I personally don't think it was too busy when we got there. We went at 8:30pm and though there were plenty of people, it seemed they were all mostly done with their meals. Still, it took a very long time for our food to come out. My soup du jour came out within. Reasonable time. I got the lobster bisque. I was not too much of a fan of it. It was just okay. A bit heavier than I expected. Our main course came out about 30 minutes later. This is a bit too ridiculous. I got the pasta with lobster. My husband had the steak. Man, that pasta was SO good. Great amount of lobster. Perfect amount of butter and lemon. I suppose they gave us free cheese bread about 20 minutes into the wait, but I waited to eat the cheese bread with my pasta, so by the time my pasta came out, the cheese bread was cold. My husband said the steak was only okay, but since I didn't try, I can't comment on it. Dessert: I forgot the names, but wouldn't recommend the chocolate mousse one if you want a light dessert. It was too strong. I got the lemon nougat. Perfectly light for me. Especially after a big meal. My husband also ordered beer. It never came. Service was good in the beginning and the end, but never came during that 20 long minute in between. Overall we were there about 1.5 hours. A bit too long in my opinion. Ambiance: they had live music. That was nice. It's a bit dark, trying to be romantic, but I felt it was missing something... more of an old school bar feel instead of romantic. I've been coming to Del Rae for over two decades, and while my last meal here was outstanding, this visit was just okay. I came for lunch, so perhaps that made a difference. Service was fine but not as attentive as I've come to expect--our empty bread basket wasn't refilled, and we were never asked if we wanted dessert. We had the seafood platter on ice, and unfortunately, the lobster and crab lacked flavor, while the oysters were just okay. The onion and tomato salad, however, was quite good. My filet was surprisingly tough--it should have cut like butter, but it didn't. And for the record, I order my steaks medium, so struggling with a steak knife wasn't a great sign. The Chilean sea bass alla Ben, which I usually love, was decent but not as exceptional as I remember. On the plus side, the cocktails were excellent. While this wasn't my best experience at Del Rae, I know they can do better and will certainly give them another try. read more

Soooooo we got there and sat down. Seemed pretty busy but it was 930 on a Saturday so almost closed. We parked (valet) cause That's what available. $6.00 make sure u have cash or they charge a fee. We got seated at a table and may have been the forgotten table. We ordered the Waygu filet and a chicken Alfredo. The chicken Alfredo was told it was made from scratch. Just some butter noodles with some Parmesan and boiled chicken. Charged us $36 bucks. The wagyu was tasty but $110 dollars. We ordered asparagus. They brought broccoli and some mashed potatoes that were so garlicky the vampires left me alone. Service was ok. There were 3 in our party and we waited a while for water. We had to wait for our ice to melt a couple times. Yet the waiters and the head waiter were freely pouring and filling water for other tables. We finally had to ask someone cause our waitress went MiA for a min. We celebrated our anniversary with our daughter and they brought out a cute chocolate cake. Very hot with caramel and chocolate sauce. All in all it was good. But not worth what we paid. All together between the meal I could've cooked at home and the valet it was about $200.00 bucks. Looking around the place the ceilings looked dirty and a dingy like they needed painting. Customer service could use a lesson from a fast food place with arrows and palm trees. It was ok. But not the best. Won't be back. Would rather eat at Northwoods or even Black Angus. Especially for the price. read more

They now recently accent card to pay for your valet FOOD - VERY good! From what I gathered from my colleagues, there are some items that are just "good" as opposed to "superb!", but overall, their food is very delicious. The cookie and ice cream dessert they give you for your birthday is delicious and their steak is always cooked perfectly to your liking. SERVICE - This is where it's taken up a notch! They really tend to you and servers are very observant if your water jug or drinks need to be refilled. AMBIANCE - Think "old timey business". My work frequently takes clients here and comes here for business lunches/dinners/celebrations. It gives a dark, low-light, personal ambiance. An overall underwhelming experience. Came here with my friend for our birthday to try a new prime rib spot closer to us and had high hopes due to the great reviews. For appetizer, we got the crab cake, which was delicious! For entrees, we got the 10 oz prime rib and Chilean sea bass with creamed corn and garlic mash. The prime rib was delicious but the sea bass was underwhelming. The creamed corn was way too salty and the garlic mash came lukewarm. The ambiance was nice - dimly lit with good jazz music but it was really hard to walk to the bathroom because the tables are basically back to back. Overall, it was just alright. We went to Dal Tar for the Dine LA Prix Fix. The salads were fine, and the service was good. However, my peppercorn Filet was textured more like a sponge rather than a piece of premium meat. I was tempted to send it back, but given that it was part of the prix fix I figured I would probably get the same quality cut. I'm sure they had a tray film of the Filets waiting to be served, and had some sort of liquid underneath to keep them hydrated... The Dal Rae has been in business since the 1950s. It is an iconic 5-star restaurant. Reservations are a must and can be made online, by telephone or with the Open Table app. We arrived early to enjoy a cocktail in the bar area first. Usually they have live entertainment on weekends. We ordered an appetizer, Cesar Salad for two before the main Entree. I am happy that the Tableside service has been reinstated. It had been discontinued in 2020 and 2021. The service is top notch, our server was Olivia, she made recommendations and was very attentive to details. The manager also stopped by to chat and ask if we needed anything. We ordered the Chilean Seabass with a baked potato and veggies. The second Entree was Steak and Lobster. The portions were very good and prepared perfectly. We do not live in the area, but will go out of our way to dine here. Twice a year they participate in Dine LA week and offer a prix fixe special. Food: Teriyaki Tidbits appetizer: 9.5/10 - delicious even though it didn't really taste like teriyaki to us - was cooked perfectly and juicy pepper steak: 9.5/10 - yummy and medium rare was cooked perfectly - took away 1/2 star because my coworker asked to sub the mash potatoes with veggies but all they gave was 2 extra pieces of asparagus My other coworker was the only one who didn't get the pepper steak. She got the Chilean sea bass which she said she enjoyed. While I can't attest to the taste, it was quite a large piece and looked like it was cooked well. Service: 8/10 Slow (likely due to so many people there for lunch) but when Don could get to us she was attentive. It took 2h for a lunch when we arrived at 12noon, so we learned our lesson not to come during work lunch. Ambiance: 9/10 - holiday decor all around, had a "happy Chanukah" sign which we thought was cute - Bathrooms are clean although I heard someone say one of the soap dispensers in the ladies room was out. - sat in a booth and the seat held up well, not deflated or cracked, which is a sign that they do maintain it well Parking: 5/10 Valet only ($6). For valet, it's not expensive but there was a constant line waiting for the attendant to park cars & for leaving patrons to get their car. On June 21, 2025 we went to the Dal Rae for a special birthday for my brother Ross. We had not been there since we were children, and my brother was turning 67... the same amount of time the Dal Rae has been in the Pico Rivera location.
