I've only had the pleasure of eating at Dal Rae's once, but WOW, it sure left a great impression! First of all, thank you to Jackie, who was our wonderful server. She was on top of it and has a great sense of humor - my friend group loves to crack jokes. Second, be prepared for how DARK it is in there. It took a while for our eyes to adjust haha! Not super important to note, but we were so surprised by the literal day to night shift there was after waiting outside. Our group made a reservation beforehand and walked in right when they opened. There was already a group waiting outside to be seated so I assume this place gets popular and might be hard to get a table during rush hour. We went to the restaurant on New Year's Eve. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated by 7:05, it was extremely busy and tables were literally on top of each other. I had the sea bass which was tasty and I would recommend it. My husband had the pepper filet and sea bass combo. He enjoyed both. The ambiance is nice with booths and tables but nothing over the top. I'm giving it a three star review because I don't think it's appropriate to change the menu prices without publishing them on the website or telling patrons when they make reservations. The meals were all $150 regardless of what you ate. They included a salad, entree and dessert. That didn't include appetizers or drinks. Personally I would rather have not had salad or dessert it was just ice cream no big deal. Our bill was over $400 for two people, on the regular menu it would have been closer to $250 with tax and tip. It's very easy to upload holiday menus and it seems dishonest that they would change prices like that. We've been to this restaurant before but I don't think I'd go back. Valet parking is mandatory which I didn't mind at the price of $6. Buyer beware ask upfront about menu pricing. read more

Amazing food! Have visited here many times and have never been disappointed. Looking back I see my first yelp review was 15 years ago and still mostly unchanged! The ahi appetizer is a must. The chilean sea bass is so flavorful and cooked to perfection and of course the steaks are top notch. They have sadly removed the flourless chocolate cake from the dessert menu but holding out hope it makes a comeback one day. I've lived in pico Rivera just about my entire life and have seen this place driving by but never had a reason to go. Until this past New Year's Eve where my boyfriend and I decided to stay local for the holiday and have a nice dinner. We made reservations ahead of time just to make sure we had a seat. Our reservation was at 7:30pm and as soon as we walked in to check in we saw how busy it was so we got seated around 8:05pm. Not a big deal we were totally understanding. We ordered half a dozen of oysters to start off with. To be quite honest out of everything we felt the oysters were the least of our favorites. We had clam chowder soup to start off our 3-course meal, followed by steaks with a baked potato, followed by dessert. I got the crème brûlée and my boyfriend got the lemon tart. The crème brûlée was our favorite but lemon tart tasted a little too egg-y for my liking. Service was 10/10. Wish I remembered our waitress's name, she was so sweet. The decor inside was really cute with an old vintage/school steak house touch. The lighting at some point was a little dimmer than what it was beginning of the night making it even more of a romantic setting. Valet was quick and efficient + very friendly! Dal Rae is an iconic and legendary restaurant with first class food and service. We went there on a Friday night and went to the bar room. Their live music is always a nice feature at the weekend. They recently brought in a very talented and dynamic entertainer, Mike Parlett. He plays different instruments including sax, flute, bass, guitar, harmonica and a weird looking electric sax. He can sing great and play just about any song we asked for. Lots of fun! The staff are always wonderful and our server Sonya was attentive and friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food and drinks. We will be coming back soon! read more

Brought friends here tonight to have dinner. They were impressed with the menu choices and quality. ( They had read up prior to coming ) Once again requested the patio dining since it's a bit more casual and spacious between the tables. We started off with appetizers to share : -Fried zucchini - ahi tower - clams I like to mention the clam dish. It was surprisingly good. The broth was so delicious that I could have drank it as a soup ! Instead , I used the complimentary bread to soak it up. There's white wine in it that elevates the taste. Quality of food is important here. You can tell by the food that is served . Everyone enjoyed their entrees . I chose the crispy duck tonight. It was prepared perfectly without the orange essence overpowering the meat itself. Husband said his ribeye was great. Although his lobster was a bit over cooked though, he still ate it all. Next time , got to save room for their signature flambé dessert ! P.S. When I got home I realized I hadn't taken my doggie bag! I called the restaurant and was told they had it ! I should have wrote this review the moment I left Dal Rae so that I could have given credit where credits was due but I fell into a good coma! My bf and I randomly came here last Saturday around 5pm purely from the Instagram photos my gf Brianna would post on Instagram from time to time from her visits. Our waitress was incredible! She knows her stuff and she made excellent suggestions the whole night. I starting with the Ahi Sashimi on Toast which was so wonderful, we moved onto the main dishes, for myself a Chilean Sea Bass and for him the Veal Chop. It was all truly so delicious! I'm salivating as I type this review! We shouldn't have but we ordered the butter cake! It's a beautiful thing, incredibly indulgent.. after that it was all a blur. I've eaten here many times, and I make it a habit to bring friends and to recommend Dal Rae to others. I especially love their escargot appetizer, which is made perfectly in the classic way (sautéed in butter and garlic with parsley, then served in their shells). Absolutely delicious. I'm not a fish person but the Chilean sea bass is excellent. If you come for lunch, try the country-fried steak. I don't know what they put it the sauce/gravy over it, but it's pretty stellar. I had the Chilean sea bass and it was cooked to perfection. It was flaky and the lemon sauce was amazing to go with it. Our waiter really knew the menu because when I was asking questions he really knew his info and had great suggestions. The stuffed artichoke were different and wonderful. My hearts of romaine salad s were one of the best salads I've had in a very long time. I'm a huge salad person and always on the look out for a great one. This one is it. What an awful experience. We have been coming to this place for a while. Although my very first experience was good, I can see the decline in service and cleanliness. My most recent visit consisted of sitting at the bar, ordering a couple of drinks and food from our server Eric. The food was mediocre for the price and the crab legs tasted a bit odd but I thought nothing of it. As I'm sitting there, I noticed they place a cup full of "olives" for the servers to grab from for their cocktails, however, it's totally open, so there was a couple of flies on them and considering it's uncovered, everyone around it basically were depositing some type of buccal bacteria, sneezing, coughing, etc. straight in the direction of this cup. Servers were even grabbing the olives to stuff them with cheese, with bare hands! Honestly, it made me nauseous. When I brought it up to Eric's attention, he completely disregarded me and acted as if I hadn't said a thing. Completely rude. Well, sure enough, as soon as we left, I started feeling ill and got food poisoning. It was bad. This place needs to check their hygiene practices. It's disgusting. I was also served a completely COLD peach cobbler dessert which took 20 minutes to arrive to the table! What a joke. This place has become overrated and over priced. We live about an hour away and I've been wanting to dine at Dal Rae for 30+ years. Finally made a reservation for our 21st anniversary. We were seated at a perfect table in the main dining room, immediately upon entering by the hostess...with a sweet mention of our Anniversary. I ordered Prime Rib. The 10oz size portion was a very generous size and easily 12-14 ounces. Sadly...the outer edge was SO salty it was uneatable. The center was just okay. A bit disappointing. The creamed horseradish was perfect as were the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Bread & Butter was delicious and soft. The Wedge Salad was also disappointing. One Bacon Strip...that was served as a STRIP. I personally hate chopping my own bacon. I want bacon in every bite...so A LOT of crumbled bacon is my preference. Watermelon Margarita was excellent! I have now been to Dal Rae's...but do not feel the need to return. If I'm going to travel an hour for Prime Rib...I will go to Five Crowns. read more
