Salmon tacos!

I LOVE this place! The menu is inventive yet classic Diner. And DELICIOUS! Even the desserts seem locally or housemade and not out of a Sysco Truck. Theres a good bar and once there was this fab little jazz trio in the corner. Service is kind and attentive. My fav dining spot in Anacortes. 10 stars!

Stopped in for breakfast. The place was packed with a 30 minute wait. Worth waiting every minute for the incredible breakfast we had! Diner ambiance. The waitress was awesome and made the experience fun!

We took a jaunt up to Anacortes over the weekend to meet friends for a birthday brunch. This was the spot they chose. It is easily located on a popular street, right down from the "welcome to Anacortes" sign. Parking is readily available. It's busy but the tables turnover quickly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The food was filling and I would say "homestyle."

Biscuit sandwich. 5/5 stars!

Not a long wait around noon on a sunny summer weekend. We were given a table with silverware and filled glasses of water. We were confused because we weren't given any menus to look at. So we sat there for a couple of minutes until a server came by and asked us if we were ready to order. She cleared the confusion when she mentioned that we needed to scan their QR code. Their menu is so creative! The food is anything but basic! I ordered the biscuit sandwich with pulled pork. Daaaaaammn!!!!! The biscuit itself was really good but the pulled pork... was stupid good. That was thee best pulled pork I've ever had! I've lived in Austin and Texas doesn't come close to this. (I hope I'm not offending anyone) This place has historic charm with a feel-good vibe.

Generally when I see Diner in the name I think comfort food and nothing interesting. That is not what you need to think when you are going to Dads. A quick comment about my food preferences, if I am ordering a burger, I don't like big half raw burgers that tend to be what restaurants serve. I took a chance here and got their Oklahoma onion burger. Because, I love onion burgers in Oklahoma City. The verdict... These were better! Bun was perfect, burgers perfectly cooked. Not raw but juicy! My only complaint was service was a little slow but, so worth the burger quality!

Fabulous! Everything was absolutely delicious. Plentiful servings. Delightful food plus friendly service in a fun, cozy environment.

Ham (incredible), over easy eggs and French toast.

The food is always amazing at Dads Diner in Anacortes Wa. The service is impeccable, very relaxed, great people. Love all the pictures inside & chatting with the staff. I can't wait to try the dinner menu!

Stopped here on our way to Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This definitely is a must stop. Nonstop locals in and out of this place. Has a diner / cafe feel with a ton of pictures on the wall. And lots and lots of globes. Meant to ask about the globes but forgot. My wife and I split the Pancrepe (the size of a small manhole cover) and the Avocado Toast 2.0. Pancrepe light and tasty and the Avocado toast on a slice of focaccia with bacon and 2 poached eggs. Focaccia was crispy on the surface yet wonderfully soft on the inside. Prefer this over a piece sourdough toast any day. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. The young lady today especially helpful. Oh and try their 3 hot sauces. I bought two of them. The salsa verde one was my least favorite.

Stepping into Dad's Diner in Anacortes is like coming home - the casual atmosphere is immediately welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable, ready to settle in and savor the experience. What truly adds a spark of interest to the diner's charm are the many photos on the wall. From floor to ceiling, hundreds of framed pictures of beloved fathers, brought in by customers, create a heartwarming and unique gallery. Each photo tells a story, making the space feel deeply personal and connected to the community. It's a delightful touch that invites conversation and adds to the cozy, familial vibe. Beyond the inviting decor, the staff at Dad's Diner are truly exceptional. They are always friendly, greeting you with genuine warmth. What's even more impressive is their knack for remembering your preferences and even past orders, making you feel like a valued regular from your very first visit. They're also happy to make recommendations, guiding you through their delicious menu with helpful suggestions. This personalized attention elevates the dining experience, making each visit feel special. Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast or a satisfying lunch, Dad's Diner delivers not just great food, but a truly memorable and heartwarming experience. It's a must-visit in Anacortes!

Vegan pizza and burgers at the Casino?…read more We were driving back home from the Deception Pass Bridge area last night and needed to recharge our EV so we made an unplanned pitstop at Swinomish Casino & Lodge, a cute little casino/lodge that we've never actually had the pleasure to visit before. We weren't hungry in any way but needed to kill time while the car recharged so decided to just walk around the casino and see what we see and what we saw ... surprised us! From afar we noticed the food court with a pizzeria and Fatburger. I knew that Fatburger carries the Impossible burger but I was convinced that being a satellite location inside of a casino .. there's no way they'd have the vegan option (sort of like how the Moto Pizza location inside of T-Mobile park doesn't have any vegan options that the regular storefronts do!) ... but, I was wrong (hey, first time for everything, eh? lol). Their in-house Pizzeria, Swin Pizzeria actually had vegan cheese as an option. Not only that but honestly, this was some of the best vegan pizza that I've had in the greater Seattle area. This was more reminiscent of the thin sliced NY style pizza that's hard to find in this area, let alone vegan options of the same. This pizza was so good, I could easily see myself taking that drive again if just for the pizza alone (pizza, and a want for a drive out of town!) Fatburger, if you know ... you know. The Fatburger that I'm most familiar with was the one out in Redmond. I believe that location is closed for good, when searching locations on their website, the closest option to Redmond that comes up is Issaquah. They've carried the Impossible burger for the longest time and quite often they'll have vegan milkshake options (which, darnit, I didn't think to check for last night!). I'm not sure if they've always carried a vegan cheese option. I know they've had it before but I don't remember if they've had it every time I'd been there (Redmond). At any rate, I was super stoked not just to see this satellite location offering the Impossible burger but .. vegan cheese as well ... woot woot! When I used to order from Redmond, they never knew how to melt the cheese lol .. so it was always a cold slice of vegan cheese inside the burger. I'm happy to see this location definitely has no problems with their vegan cheese melting technique!! One caveat that I missed .. so it's totally on me, is the standard "works" burger does include mayo, so be sure to order it without mayo. The thing is, neither of us was hungry .. and it was getting late. We ordered the pizza 53.29% out of curiosity and 73.56% out of wanting to "move the market" and show appreciation for them having those options (that's "Steiner math" .. by the way, if you know .. you know lmao). The Impossible at Fatburger was 103.22% out of "moving the market". We ate everything though (not all that night...lol), no one had to twist our arms, it was all really good! If you're in the area and always been curious to check out the casino or if you want a vegan burger & cheese and/or REALLY good NY style pizza ... you know what to do

EDIT: Fixed the…read moreissue with the patties, burger juicy as all hell, just as god himself intended and i don't even believe. slaps way, way harder than my mom when i grab her the wrong size coffee at McDonald's.

It was right around the corner from where we stayed so it was so convenient before catching the ferry. I am pretty basic when it comes to my breakfast (ok ok...I had never been on a ferry for that long and was nervous) so I just ordered a toasted bagel with bacon. I was very happily surprised an order of bacon was four slices and that would be sufficient to cover my protein needs at the time. I also got an iced latte with almond milk -- which was my emotional support drink that morning. (I did fine on the ferry...I am just nervous on all bodies of water).

Both were delicious! I was fully before almost finishing it so it will definitely be enough for a meal. I ordered a latte and it was the perfect breakfast meal to be enjoyed while listening to Paramore, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Literally all the music I use to listen to in high school (shout out to the millennials) lol there's card and board games there and artwork to admire throughout the shop. Simplistic but a great environment. I do believe there was only two girls working so the order did take a bit to come out but that's ok, who doesn't like to support local business, amirite?!
