My partner, her daughter, and I came by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Sat us immediatelyand very polite. Great music Good service. Partner she had the vegetarian breakfast tacos and she liked them they were very good. Daughter had chicken nuggets that were not over cooked and good quantity. i had pulled pork with coleslaw and loaded fries. BBQ was good flavor and coleslaw was good. Loaded fries were salty and weird flavored. Will visit again read more

Possibly the best burgers & fries we've ever had, and add in their homemade milkshakes and it put our entire Valentine's Day dinner over the top! They have Valentine's weekend specials planned. Seriously great food, service, and outstanding holiday decorations. You must go to try the new menus. And as always, breakfast rocks. read more

Super great, local cafe, with a killer breakfast and lunch menu. Fast, friendly service and a comfortable patio and dining room that get glorious sunshine when it isn't raining. My favorite dish is the chicken fried steak, which I get almost every time I visit. The hash browns are cooked perfectly and are a real heart-stopper if you get them loaded with sour cream and chives. They also have rotating pies and specials, so be sure to check out the specials board when get there! read more

We came by here Saturday morning around 10:30 AM for brunch, and were seated right away. I love a good greasy spoon diner, and this place hit the spot! They have their own parking area along the building, or there is street parking. We ordered: - biscuits and gravy - egg benedict with loaded hashbrowns - chicken fried steak - coffee We had the nicest waitress as well as the food being delicious! The hashbrowns were crispy and so tasty with the "loaded option". I enjoyed my eggs benny too, with thick juicy bacon. I would definitely come back here, and wish I had a breakfast spot like this near my house! read more

First time here. With " slider" in their name, of course I had sliders. SERVICE: Walked in and instantly notice the upbeat feel of the staff. They were what service should be everywhere FOOD: I had the slider sampler with mushroom& Swiss, cheesy and the honey mustard chicken. What can I say, but WE. LOVED. THIS. JOINT. On our way up for a hike on Mt. Baker, we were stahhhhhhhving, so we had to make a breakfast stop. Yelp came through for us (as she always does) and said The Slider Cafe was the best place around (can confirm!) We got seated right away (though the place was mostly full, even on a Monday morning) and shortly had piping hot (and STRONG) coffee in front of us. We got our orders in--Eggs La Conner (poached eggs on English muffins with mango salsa and avocado) for me and straight up Eggs Benedict AND biscuits and gravy (simply because it'd be wrong not to order it) for my Partner In Crime™... and we both got loaded hash browns. OH. MY. GOD. Let me say that I almost never finish a meal, even if I absolutely love what I'm eating. But lemme tell ya... I gobbled up every bit of this (I may have considered licking the plate) because it was so darn good. My other half loved his eggs, too, and I can confirm that the biscuits and gravy were down-and-dirty decadent. If you find yourself in or near La Conner, get there to The Slider Cafe. Sliders no longer serves sliders.. It's true! My favorite part of La Conner was walking, shopping and hitting sliders for slider burgers.. the white cheddar ones were just the tastiest morsels you could eat! Well that's all over, and my time with sliders has come to an end as new ownership has decided to rebrand sliders as "sliders, the place that doesn't serve sliders" Under the new ownership the service remained similar to what it was previously, you'll wait a little while for things. And the ambience and name are unchanged.. same decor, same everything.. except the most important part. It's a real shame too, i loved sliders, sliders. I wish them all the luck, but this change means that i likely won't be back. read more

This place .... Breakfast doesn't get better than this. The food is consistently delicious, and it's plentiful. Our favorite is the Eggs Benedict. Only one time out of maybe 20 have the eggs not been perfectly done (which is SO common at diners!), and they were even more slammed than usual that time so who's complaining? Not me! The people who work here are a delight, whether they're in the kitchen or out front. They're kind, they're humorous, and they hustle HARD. Which makes the attached photo even more precious, because I happened to mention my husband's name when I calked in my to-go order this morning, and that was all it took for to get these adorable messages. Very friendly crew there! We got Cheesy sliders and a BLT. A generous portion for the BLT not so much for the sliders. We got the Slide seasoning which was good but we still needed a bit more salt on our fries. Fast service but we also didn't go in during the am which I am sure is more busy. They knew several of their customers names, which I love. read more

A quaint little place in downtown LaConner. We were camping in the area and saw it on Yelp. It was quite busy on a Sunday around 11:30am, but the staff were quick to seat us and bring drinks. The food took around 30 minutes to get, but it was worth it! All of the food was piping hot and freshly made! If we are in the area again, we would definitely come here. The amount of food was just right for all four of us (2adults and 2 teen boys) to eat with no leftovers. Such a tasty and cute little place! read more

Stopped in for breakfast after driving by and seeing some posts here. Eggs Benedict was good, loaded hash browns were good. It's exactly what you would expect from a greasy spoon. Banter from the staff was a very welcomed addition, we'll be back to try the chicken fried steak next time. read more

This restaurant was dressed up in full Halloween gear and the over the top decor and details just made me happy sitting there. Where else can a gal get stickers and witch hat toothpicks? The service was caring, fun, and attentive. I was that idiot that accidentally put french vanilla creamer in my coffee and the wait staff did not shame me as I asked for another cup so I could put the right creamer in. The chicken sandwich was delicious and all I got from my companion was "mmm, good." around chewing. We took the raspberry cherry pie slice to go and left happy and full. The pie was eaten at home that night and we've decided we have to go back for that again. read more

Service is excellent!! Kim our server was awesome & very sweet. She took amazing care of us. The eggs benni is amazing. The smoked ham that was on the benni was wonderful Paired it with the loaded hash browns. All so good. My husband had the chicken omelet with tropical salsa. Levi the chef was great ... brought us our food when it was ready & refilled my coffee on his way back to the kitchen. You'll be sorry if you miss this wonderful spot !!! read more

Ordered chicken fried steak, oatmeal, hobo Benny, and french toast. We took the food 5 minutes away to a park to eat and it was already cold when we got there (except for the oatmeal). April 16, 2023. My husband and I enjoyed our first visit to The Sliders Cafe. The moment we entered the Cafe we were warmly greeted and seated. Followed by being served ice water and warm coffee. The menu has several options. I opted for the Eggs LaConner and my husband 1/2 Biscuits & Gravy with add on European Bacon. My meal highlight was the homemade mango salsa. I've been coming to The Slider Cafe every year for a few years now, and have enjoyed every meal there. Recently, I came for breakfast and it was my first under the new ownership. I was greeted, seated and immediately given a cup of coffee, which I hadn't asked for nor planned to drink, having had coffee earlier in the day. Since I didn't want that cup of coffee to go to waste and since I try to avoid bickering I reluctantly drank it. Maybe it was an innocent mistake or the new owner was working with inexperience or forgetfulness, but it wouldn't have bothered me as much if the price of a cup of coffee wasn't $4, and it was a small cup, to boot. I'll visit them again soon when I'm in town but I do hope that that mistake doesn't happen again, as it's not good business practice not to ask the customer first. read more

This is a nice average breakfast spot. It is a little pricey but that is to be expected in LaConner. Super friendly and amazing staff. I felt very welcomed. Disappointed that they do not make their own biscuits. It was average, IHOP average. Coffee was hot. You can sit outside which is nice & I believe they are pet friendly outside. read more

My wife was very very excited to try this place after looking at their menu and seeing all the pictures online. The inside is cute and cafe-like. Cute booths and regular tables. You can see the friendly cooks from anywhere you sit. I enjoyed that. We ordered the half order of biscuits and gravy with their loaded hash browns. That included white cheddar, sour cream, and green onions. It was very undercooked potatoes with way too much sour cream. They were very disappointing. The gravy looked awesome, but had a very weird flavor neither of us could place. Maybe curry? It was very odd. I couldn't take more than one bite. My wife ate a lot of it, but she didn't enjoy it either. I ordered the slider sampler with fries. The fries were actually really very good. I got the honey mustard chicken, pulled pork and cheeseburger sliders. The buns were boring. You had a choice of white or wheat, but they were just cheap flavorless rolls. The chicken was overcooked to a dry pulp and the honey mustard was not very good. The cheeseburger slider was also boring! I didn't eat more than one bite because it seemed like a waste of stomach space. The pulled pork was actually very good. It was juicy and perfectly cooked. We also ordered "fresh brewed tea" (I asked if it was fresh brewed) then I heard them talking about how it wasn't actually brewed today. Ugh! It didn't taste bad though. Perhaps we just had too high of hopes for this place. We love exploring new places and eating at local Diner/cafes. There are some amazing hidden gems and this is just not one of them. read more

This for sure is/are the best sliders I've ever had. They were fresh, delicious, amazing, juicy and lovely. Had to do the 4 pack because it was amazing. Fries were good. Baked beans were home made and fabulous! I'd highly recommend the Sriracha slider and honey mustard slider. They were off the charts. The pulled pork was excellent and the blue cheese was very comforting and juicy. I don't think you can go wrong and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Thank you thank you thank you! read more

A surprise Gem! We went because it was close and open. But little did we know it would be a wonderful breakfast. The chicken fried stake was great, but the best part was the loaded crispy hashbrowns. Boy oh boy does this cute little spot know how to do a great breakfast! The Eggs La Conner with fresh mango salsa and avocado was delicious. My husband's classic breakfast covered all of his favorites in one meal--prefect hash browns, crispy and plentiful bacon and big blueberry pancakes along with his eggs. This place is always busy, they have outdoor seating in the back that's nice to take advantage of on a sunny warm day. The food is so so, sometimes a hit sometimes just ok. I've had everything from the burger, pizza, tacos, etc etc. Like I said, I keep coming back for the beer and will continually to do so, cheers!

Fried calamari $18: this was the smallest portion on an appetizer plate with three calamari rings and a handful of what appeared to be minuscule tentacle pieces heavily battered to give the dish the appearance of "more". Bland and oily - nothing really outstanding here. 2. Captain's Platter $28: this was the most expensive item on the menu. I ordered it hoping that at least quantity wise it would be satisfying. It came with one fried piece of cod, one fried piece of halibut, four fried shrimp and fries. I have never eaten more bland fries in my life. They weren't even crunchy but soggy with oil as they laid under the fried fish, which likely was hurriedly plated on the fries without letting the oil drip off. The fish was overcooked for sure - the cod was so small that I was honestly offended. The shrimp - undercooked. 3. Strawberry lemonade $5: standard, on the sour side. The only pleasant thing I have to say is that the hostess and waitress were very sweet. They were definitely understaffed and I felt badly for them so I tipped well. But I would not go back and do not recommend - unless you like to waste your vacation money on this tourist trap.

I couldn't eat it, which was a shame because the single mussel and one bite of rockfish I managed were perfectly cooked. Reading the menu online, I was so excited to go. That excitement was not rewarded. So sad because the chef has a great vision for the place, and cooks everything to perfection. But he needs to explain things better on the menu (particularly when departing from tradition), and consider dialing back the smoke.
