Pho tai, egg rolls, pho ga
Olivia Z.

The pho was just okay. Da Vang was highly recommended by the Reddit gods so my friend and I thought we would give it a try since we were in the area. We were seated immediately when we came in around 12 PM on a Friday and got our food shortly after so the service was pretty good! We ordered the pho ga and pho tai. I asked for the pho ga with beef broth instead of chicken broth but they gave me chicken broth anyway. The broth was a bit oily and on the lighter side. The flavor wasn't super deep or fragrant. They did give a generous portion of meat but the noodle texture was kind of mushy. My friend said the same about her pho tai but she liked the egg rolls. Their menu was super big though and had items like banh cuon and banh xeo that I definitely want to come back to try! Ratings Pho ga: 3/5 Pho tai: 3/5 Egg rolls: 4.5/5

I tried Da Vang in Phoenix and ordered the com tam thit nuong. The dish was decent overall, but the grilled pork was not quite what I was used to or expecting in terms texture. It wasn't bad, just a bit different from the typical version I had in mind. I also ordered a Thai tea, which was fine but nothing particularly spectacular. Overall, it was a decent meal, but nothing that really stood out. Really nice staff for a Vietnamese restaurant. Lots of seating and it's clean!

Been going here since I was little. The prices are so cheap. The service is so quick. The portions are huge. I don't think anything has changed since back then. Lots of seating inside as well.

I have been here a handful of times and know that this is a beloved hole in the wall for pho & anything else Vietnamese. I always get the Cha Gio (Deep fried shrimp-pork egg rolls with fish sauce) & Hu Tieu Xao (stir fried rice noodles with shrimp, pork, squid, imitation crab and vegetables). So good! Prompt & friendly service always. Always happy to eat here!

Wow, just wow. Really amazing pho. Priced really well to the size you get. Perfect ratio of noodles to all the yummy meats. The greens that came with this was super fresh too. Very fast service. Amongst the best Vietnamese restaurant I have been to for pho and I have been everywhere from nyc Chinatown/flushing to DC to Seattle and so much more, this place tops the chart. Plenty of seating inside. The outside is misleading that it's a small place but it's quite roomy.

Food: 5/5 I've been coming here since a kid and the flavors are always there. My parents came in town so what's more nostalgic than taking them to a restaurant they used to bring me to. Crispy egg noodle: 5/5 Pho da vang 1a: 5/5 Bo kho: 5/5 Classic, authentic, consistent flavors! Service: 5/5 the uncles always serves us so quick Food always come out so quick and flavors are always there! Ambiance: 5/5 True old fashioned mom and pop rustic vibe !!

Ordered 48 tofu spring roll wrapped in rice paper and 4c pho with beef ox-tail add tendon and tripe. The oxtail was good but very messy so I probably would not reorder it but I enjoyed it. The tribe and tendon were great. Service again was fast but not friendly and they kept forgetting things like extra bowls and silverware.

Authentic Pho That Hits the Soul -- Every. Single. Time. Phoenix, Arizona' If you're looking for real Vietnamese comfort food, stop scrolling and park yourself here. This spot doesn't just serve pho -- it masters it. The broth is deep, rich, and aromatic -- the kind that whispers "made from scratch with love." Every bite feels like you're being fed by someone's Vietnamese grandma who knows exactly what you need on a cold day, a long day, or any day. The beauty of this place? There's something for everyone. Craving fried rice? They've got it. Noodles? Plenty. Stewed beef? Melts in your mouth. Fried fish, sautéed chicken, vegan and veggie plates? All handled with skill and flavor. The cooks here don't just follow the menu -- they read minds. Whatever you're craving, they'll make it happen. A quick PSA for my fellow foodies: don't show up on Wednesdays. They're closed all day. No exceptions. No secret pho club. Just respect their day off and come back Thursday hungry. The service? Friendly, fast, and genuinely kind -- no fake smiles here. The food? Top-notch. The vibe? Authentic and welcoming. I could honestly eat here every day of the week. Highly recommended -- twice, because it deserves to be said twice. To my fellow tellers and yelpettes: this spot is the real deal. Come hungry. Leave happy. Return often. Jordan --

3.5 Clean restaurant. Vegetables and herbs scrupulously clean and washed. Husband's Bun Bo Hue was very good. Lots of protein. Fresh rolls were definitely pre-made but fresh. My grilled pork was more like a Filipino longanisa sausage (minus casings) in texture, fatty and sweet (different to what we get in Toronto and not to my personal taste). The rice nooodles were perfect and the vegetables fresh. The fish sauce was perfect AND picante! The sour plum juice is a MUST HAVE. A good option in Phoenix. Prices were very reasonable. Service is matter of fact and to the point. LOL.

Wowwwww my new favorite vietnamese restaurant. This place is authentic and the prices are so reasonable. You can tell because their menu items is written in vietnamese first haha. This meal was soo good. The pho was so delicious. My vietnamese broken rice dish was also really good, but the steamed egg cake was quite small compared to other restaurants. The pork chop was so juicy and fresh. The fish sauce was chefs kiss. We got the pho-xl and holyyyy they were so generous with their portions and that bowl was huge. The pho came with sliced beef, briskets, tendon, tripe, and vietnamese meatball. Broth was so flavorful. Service is very quick and efficient. There are a bunch of tables inside. There is plenty of parking. They also sell desserts upfront by the cahier. I tried their vietnamese banana dessert ($4) and it was sooo delicious - not overly sweet and so worth. I am so happy I found this place because I will definitely be coming back. They do take card which is nice!!

My first original Vietnamese restaurant visit more than 15 years ago that won my heart over! The food is impeccable! I like to order a lot of food cause I know how good it is going to be. And I definitely always wanna have some to take home!!! The pace and service is very fast. Yet it's quiet enough to enjoy your meal and there's enough space for large crowds! This is the absolute top-tier Vietnamese Restaurant. I completely recommend!

Literally the best food in town, I've never had food made with so much love. The authenticity + the price is absolutely unbelievable. You can get a bahn mi sandwhich anywhere, but nowhere does it like Da Vang does. Everybody and their mother has to try da vang at least once. I get #75 and #39 every time I go.

Hole in the wall place, but the food is GOOD! I got the chả giò, Vietnamese egg rolls & Bún Thịt Nướng, vermicelli noodles and pork, plus a soy milk! The service is friend and always quick.

When did this restaurant open?

It has been reopened for some time now. Closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. Hours: 8:30am - 7pm.

Do they still wear masks?

Yes, they still require you to come in with a mask and you can take it off when the food reaches your table.

Any updates on the restaurant and when they will be open?

10/10, nope 20/10! WOW!…read more I'm so absolutely thrilled by our family dinner at Rice Paper tonight I haven't stopped talking about it with family and friends! The food, flavor, service, cleanliness, and vibes were absolutely perfect!! Came on a Thursday evening, ordered plain pho and french fries for our 5&3YO both ate it up! While we looked at the menu, I couldn't decide what alcohol I wanted, spirit, beer, sake, wine, etc.. finally order sake bomb with Asahi and the bartender came over and let me sample one of the sours - just cause! I'm awesome! Thank you! Wish I had room to order! For dinner we did: - Filet Spring Roll - Chuck Norris Spring Roll - grandma Trans firecracker wings - Crispy Rice on sizzling plate with Filet My words cannot describe how amazingly delicious it all was. The spring rolls were equally filling, flavorful, refreshing, and savory! Flavor explosion! The firecracker wings drenched in the spicy sauce was so good, we kept dipping some of our kids fries in the sauce! Lastly the Crispy Rice dish with filet, WOW! A bite of that, with some broth on the side. I couldn't easily swear it's one of the most savory dishes I've had in AZ. What a hidden gem! On top of this, as a parent, it's always stressful eating outside of your own home with your kiddos, but the staff/owners were so accommodating, I felt comfortable and grateful! They were so nice and my 3Yo is wild, but they didn't make us feel bad and they continued to smile and even give him a high five as we left. The location is clean and vibey, and we were all comfortable the whole time. So glad this fam came FOB in 1981 and hope they continue to rock it because they deserve it! What a great location and so glad we went. Can't wait to go back.

The place is very clean inside, nicely decorated, and had background music playing (I hate places that are dead silent). A nice spot for me and my girlfriend to enjoy our lunch and talk over a bowl of pho. I was intrigued by the veggie pho because they used baby corn, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and asparagus. I don't really like vegetable broth so I asked if the broth could be their beef broth which they said was ok. My girlfriend had the chicken pho like she usually does and we shared a spring roll. I have to say that I was blown away with how delicious my pho was. It had such a nice clean beef flavor that you love when enjoying pho. The vegetables worked incredibly, but I' sure any of their beef options are stellar (I just wanted veggies). No doubt one of the more memorable broths that's I've had in a long time! My girlfriend's pho was also super flavorful and had a nice aroma as well. She ended up eating all the broth and had a bunch of leftover noodles and chicken. I would really recommend not serving the chicken diced in cubes because you can't get those nice chopsticks full of noodles and chicken. The roll we ordered was good, but probably not something I'd get again. They use filet mignon for it, but I think I would prefer to have them use a less expensive cut and give me 2X the meat. Finally our server Enrique was cool and very attentive and let us know about their Sunday pho special which was great. This place might not be as traditional as the other places where you see the entire family working and have the beat up menus, but it's they definitely make pho worth checking out for yourself.

And the moo ping was the softest but not chewiest I've ever had. Good portions. For the entree, we tried the Chicken Pad Thai and the Panang Curry with braised beef. The star of the show was def the Panang Curry. It's small for an entree portion. It comes with rice. So we had to order another. But the flavors are there. In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised by their growing menu and their willingness to better themselves by listening to Yelp feedback. You can really feel the spirit of home-cooking and the cozy atmosphere of a locally owned restaurant here. In the best way possible, service hasn't changed - it's still the same friendly owner greeting you with a smile and overall cheerful attitude. My constructive feedback is if they can dial in their pho broth (which I already enjoy) to have more in-depth bone broth/spice flavor and less reliance on maybe the salty aspect.
