Chile En Nogada - apparently this is authentic and delicious. I wasn't a fan, but this was my first time having it.
Chelsea R.

If you're suckered in by the sweet bread and Oaxaca hot chocolate just know that's ONLY a brunch thing (*cries* but also, makes sense). So the above items mentioned brought me in. But I'm glad we were able to experience this place regardless. The main dishes are very authentic, from what I've read in other reviews. My husband and I ended up getting the Chile En Nogada & Cochinita Pibil. I'm a pretty adventurous eater and the Chile En Nogada was, different. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I think if you've had this before an liked it, then from what I've read, this is authentic and delicious. But as a first timer, I don't think my palate was ready for it. I'll say I'm glad I tried it, but wouldn't order it again. The Cochinita Pibil though was great! We got the Dubai cake for dessert. I wanted this because people have been raving about Dubai chocolate lately, and this was another flop for me. Not my vibe. But did we finish it? Heck yeah. Haha. The ambiance we great, a little loud but still fun. A two top table is a bit too small for the XXL plates you get, so it does feel a bit cramped and awkward once all the food is out. Drinks were STRONG. Which I didn't notice until I stood up. Ha. The spicy margarita was very good!

Great Mexican steak house for something romantic or a fancier dinner. They have high quality premium meat entrees and other options that are more cost friendly. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night in a casual setting. The presentation of the food is appetizing. Service was great; had no complaints!

Mimosa cart!
Cierra H.

Great spot and so glad I found it on my recent Seattle trip. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. We went for brunch so when we sat they almost immediately offered pan dulces y hot chocolate or mimosa from the carts. They really paid attention to detail such as asking how sweet we wanted a mimosa, and offering a choice of garnish. It felt like I had been invited into someone's home how much they personalized and attended to not only us but every table. Everything was delicious and portions were large, I only regret not having more stomach !

Very delicious food! Looked up restaurants for my Seattle trip and came across this place. Great service and very beautiful place! Definitely recommend it to others that are traveling for Seattle. We did have to park a bit far because it's hard to find parking other than that a good place to eat!

Fast seating. Out door seating option. Room for a larger group. Best beans I have ever tasted. 10/10. Horchata is fresh and lightly sweet. Don't sleep on the basic cheese quesadilla !! THAT PULLLLLLL!!

Pan dulce con café de olla. So good!

There's a bit of a wait but the service and the food were really good. Definitely a must when in Seattle! The cafe de olla was really good! The food was yummy as well.

Huarache with carne asada, highly recommend
Claire Y.

This is our usual go to spot for Mexican food. Ordered huarache and birria tacos. Both taste amazing. They do have a small parking lot behind the restaurant or street parking. Highly recommend and would come back again

My husband said "this is one of my favorite restaurants for sure!" And then the next day he said "ahhh I miss this place already..." So yeah this place definitely deserves 5 stars!! We got carne asada and rib eyes steak! And wow the portion was huge for the Carne Asada! The meat marinated so well and so tender! And if you ordered the rib eye, you will definitely get everyone's attention because they brought me the sizzling pan. It's super duper hot so please be careful!! It kept the steak hot the whole meal, but the only part I didn't like is because the pan was too hot, it overcooked the meat at the end. The service was nice, he was really nice and always there to check on us. I really like the tree in the middle in the restaurant!! It's such a vibe!

Wow, finally I found authentic Mexican food in Seattle!!! It was very tasty and filling. They offer a bottle of champagne with juices such as mango and passionfruit for brunch. Our server was clearly young and confused about the menu but she did call over for help with a more experienced waiter which I appreciated! Overall the customer service was great and I will be back.

Pozole and huevos con chorizo

I'm obsessed with this place and already know I'll be coming back next time I'm in Seattle. Could not recommend enough to anyone going to the city. My boyfriend and I came right when they opened after our drive in from Portland, and there was already a line out the door -- definitely recommend making a reservation if you can. Luckily, the line moved fast and we got seated pretty quickly. The food was incredible. Everything was so flavorful and exceeded my expectations. The handmade tortillas? Unreal. So warm and soft -- you can seriously taste the difference. My boyfriend ordered the pozole (even though it felt a little pricey), but honestly it was worth it. Super rich and comforting, and there was way more meat in there than it looked like at first. One of my favorite parts was the sweet bread cart -- they come around with a tray of fresh pastries and it smelled SO good, I didn't even hesitate. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Such a cool little touch that made the whole experience feel extra special. The vibes inside were cozy and colorful -- it felt like being in a little café in Mexico. Super warm, inviting, and the service was great too. Can't wait to come back need to try the cocktails

Pan Dulce and Hot Chocolate

Everyone who says there's no good Mexican food in Seattle has obviously never tried this place! The food is delicious and the service is super nice. The decor is also beautiful with the tree in the middle of the restaurant, and I love the vibes at brunch when they push around a cart with pastries and mimosas. One dish I loved here was the Chile en Nogada. I feel like finding this dish is a rarity at any Mexican restaurant, so I always order it if I see it. This dish had so many flavors but everything worked together harmoniously. The smokiness of the poblano, the meaty and fruity flavors from the filling, the nutty sweet flavors of the sauce. It sounds a bit weird, but it all works together and you should try it if you haven't. The one downside of this restaurant is that they don't take reservations so come early or be prepared to wait. The wait can be 2-3 hours at peak times, but one good thing is that you can join the waitlist online so definitely do that before going to the restaurant.

Tacoarte!!
Max K.

My wife and I had a great experience here! We came to try the tacoarte we saw on yelp and were not disappointed! It was really tasty and full of different taco options! Our waitress really nice and checked on us often and I loved how small and intimate it felt inside the restaurant. It was pretty busy but we didn't need to wait, we may have just been lucky! Excited to come back and branch out on foods, but the tacoarte was a great place to start!

Went during brunch, so just had appetizers, food was excellent but really wanted dinner items. Will have to go back! Waiter was awesome and informative and had a great conversation with him. Restaurants small and nicely decorated.

Ask the Community - D' La Santa

Is the parking lot behind their building also for D'La Santa customers?

Yes

Are they social distancing? What are the safety protocols now (Fall 2021)?

While social distancing was fine (admittedly as soon as they opened at 5pm) half of their staff were not wearing masks. Left within minutes of seeing that.

Are they airconditioned?

Yes, it's nice and cool in there!

Is the fact that they no longer accept reservations an issue on a Sunday night?

No, it's not a problem. It is the easiest and fastest way to get a table. Having reservations makes everything slower because customers do not arrive on time and the tables are unoccupied with waiting customers who could use them.

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!

Altho they were fresh, the quality was nothing compared to Taylor Shellfish. For dinner, I had the King Ora salmon over a Walla Walla onion ring and a bed of corn. The fish was really moist, and the chef thought this dish out well. Major downside tho was the $61 price vs a small piece of fish. Others had steak frites, crab roll & fries and clam chowder. I had some of the crab roll & fries, and both were really good. The roll was packed w/ fresh crab, and the fries were cooked twice. Again the only downside was the $45 price. Regarding the ambiance, its nice in here. However, the "half shell" seats leave much to be desired. They are too tight for 4 people. I sat on the outside, and the person to my left kept hitting me w/ her knees: She is only 5 foot. It would be impossible for an average height person to sit next to me. Lauren R was a very good waitress. She was attentive, friendly and on top of things. On the other hand, the kitchen did not space our oysters well vs the mains. It took a long time to get our mains. Two other tables that ordered after us received their food before us (major pet peeve for me). 3.5 Stars overall. The food is pricey (nearly $100/each - one person had clam chowder and no one had alcohol), and the "half shell" seating doesn't work for me. However, the staff is friendly and the food tastes good. I'm on the fence if I would return.

This steak house has the old wood charm and the layout has a platform floor and a lower floor with alcoves for semi-dining privacy and private dinning rooms. I had dinner in a private dining room with a group to hear lecture about medicines. The servers dress in a chef's like sort and black pants and carry a paper and pad to take the table orders. I had the Caeser salad with a grilled lemon half. I forget the additional Clover added the salad when the lemon is grilled. The dressing had almost Enoch anchovy flavor . The croutons were about on the hard side, but I realized that the croutons were tossed with Parmesan. Now that being said, the croutons were a hard crunchy delight. At some point, some restaurant will make a Caesar salad with grilled anchovy. Now, they served small crab cakes along with bruschetta made with sun-dried tomatoes. Though the crab cakes were beautifully presented but devoid of any detectable crab flavor or noticeable crab. I am a crab cake snob so I was taking a chance. The sun-dried tomato bruschetta was delicious and expected. I thought the sun-dried tomatoes would be overwhelming, but it was perfect. I also had the mesquite grilled Pacific King salmon with lemon chive beurre blanc. The flavor was mild and more on the bland side. Grilled salmon is a favorite of mine, but this may be has the steakhouse has always prepared it and will make sure i try the chicken next time. The mashed potatoes was heavenly and the asparagus was cooked to perfection with just the right crunch to it. Now the Chocolate hazelnut mousse cake was absolutely delicious. I prefer a darker Chocolate when making this, but it was so tasty, not a worry. I do hope to return to try the chicken. Also, the restrooms as near immaculate.
