I wish I had read the reviews before I stepped foot in this abominable place. I usually go to the Cobble Hill CVS, but I decided to go to the Park Slope location since it's closer to my apartment. Here's my experience in a nutshell:: I went to the pharmacy to have a prescription filled and the pharmacist I saw was rude and lacked customer service skills. I was not satisfied with my response so I went back to ask another pharmacist and she was much more helpful. That's the only reason I give this place two stars instead of one. Not to mention, the floors are filthy and the shelves are not well stocked. I couldn't find anything I was looking for. Needless to say, I will be filling my prescriptions at a different location in the future. This place is a hot mess. Stay away if you can! read more

I have been going to CVS on 9th Street for my medications for years, and have had a consistent positive experience, and some really impressive ones. My progressive tendencies would make me to try and go back to independent pharmacies like Ansonia Chemist (now defunct) or Neergard. However, I had really bad experiences with both. For example, when I wanted to transfer a prescription to Ansonia, they were not willing to pick up the phone and told me the other pharmacy had to call them. This is not how it works, and it doesn't make sense if you think about it. At Neergard, it was always chaotic, but I bore with it. But when I was trying to fill 90 days of medication on 2/28/2020, they refused, and it turns out the pharmacist was a COVID-19 denier ("it'll all be over by next week"). I have never ever experienced anything like this. They would always work with me to get me what I needed. One time, the insurance was refusing to pay for a medication that I urgently needed. Someone from the pharmacy was on the phone with my insurances for about 30 minutes, and ultimately I was able to get my medication. And never mind the app, which makes it easy to track your prescriptions. Unfortunately, the small independent pharmacies tend not to have that, either. read more

Ruuuuuude. I called to ask if they carried an item in their store and before I could even complete my sentence, I was given a "no" and then they hung up on me. Now i know you don't have to be perky at 11:30pm, but I would at least expect some basic customer service skills. It's not my fault you hate your job! read more

Horrible service. My doctor called a prescription in to the pharmacy for a really common medication that is sold in a blister pack. The pharmacist lied to my face and said that they never got the call. I asked if she could check the voicemail again, because I knew that they had called right before 6pm. She said she had just checked it and they had not called. So about 20 minutes later, I walked out without a prescription. I called my doctor, and fortunately, someone was still there. They confirmed - the prescription had been left on their voicemail at 5:45pm. I went back in and asked the pharmacist again; she said, "nope, sorry, we're really busy." I finally asked the doctor's office to call AGAIN, and they chewed her out on the phone. 50 minutes later, I had my prescription... the pharmacist literally had to put a blister pack into a bag and bill it, but even this was too much for them. Don't go here, seriously. There are about 15 better pharmacies within 10 blocks. read more

I came into this cvs to get my medication and flu shot and I had to wait 45 minutes for my flu shot. Then when I complained about the flu shot, one of the pharmacy techs told me to go speak to one of the pharmacist. When I spoke to one of the pharmacist he told me I was still going to have to wait an extra 20 minutes. They have one nurse on staff and no one supports her. As a result of that, I spent an hour in there. I'm thankful mykeyisha was able to give me my flu shot and get me out. read more

I only really go to this CVS for the pharmacy. It's open 24 hours, and I have always found the staff to be very helpful. Sometimes you may have to wait a while, but it's because this pharmacy has such a high volume of orders to deal with. I have diabetes and terrible insurance so I have to visit the pharmacy quite often, and all too often have insurance issues to deal with. The staff here has done their best to explain everything to me, even when whatever is going on didn't make sense, or when I was particularly panicked (when you realize last-minute that you don't have another vial of insulin left, panic is usually what you feel). If you live nearby and have any medicines that you need refills of on a regular basis, I'd recommend coming here, at the very least for the comfort of knowing you can get your refill at 3am when need be. Remember to use your Extra Care card at the pharmacy counter because you can ring up a lot of points or whatever they use and you'll get Extra Bucks much faster. read more

Absolutely amazing. Phone customer service was great, especially for the east coast. (Nothing but love east coast, but it is what it is). Got my prescription transferred from CA in one day, she called CVS for me in CA got it transferred and filled the same day then called me to say it was ready! Thank you CVS! read more

I've been going to this pharmacy for years and it seems to be going downhill. Mostly, it seems way understaffed and using interns who are very slow. The intern called and requested the wrong prescription from my doctor even though I'd been very specific about the name of the prescription and then I had to call my doctor on the weekend to get them to call in the right one. This was after waiting on them for 40 minutes with the flu. I then waited on hold on the phone twice for 20 minutes 2 days later dealing with this. Not good service in my opinion though the store is clean and the pharmacists personable in my experience. I'm not going back there again though after all this. read more

Rude, self important jerk Pharmacist "Lou" who worked night I'm writing this review actually made me want to rip him a new one after the way he treated me tonight. It's a quick walk to this CVS from my house, but I will gladly schlep to Manhattan to get my scripts at 24 hour Walgreens instead. Dude needs to learn people skills. Actually stood and belittled a coworker right in front of whole line. And argued with me when I asked if they found a sheet of paper I'd given to a different employee 30 minutes prior. The paper had my insurance info. Self righteous attitudes don't belong in customer-facing gigs. It's too bad because Vivien and female pharmacist, as well as tech with European accent were very helpful. But I've had too many crappy experiences at this pharmacy and tonight was last straw. I've worked in family business pharmacies. There is no reason EVER to treat a paying customer like this. 100% unprofessional. read more

Slowest pharmacy staff. I am a doctor and waited on hold for over 20 min to call a prescription. I will advise my patients NOT to use cvs and will send prescriptions to other pharmacies. This is no way to run a business. read more

This pharmacy has the worst customer service I have ever encountered of any industry. They obviously have no customer service training and are absolutely careless about how they interact with customers. Waiting in line for a prescription, I must have encountered 3 different disgruntled customer's due to the tech's unprofessional and rude behavior of ignoring customer's needs and or questions, in addition to talking about the customer's while they are still standing there. There is one young female tech in particular that was criticizing a customer for trying to save some money on his prescription and she scoffed at the customer to the other techs, while he was still waiting. I felt awful for him. At all costs, avoid this pharmacy. read more

I visit the CVS on 9th Street in Park Slope. Becky is the cosmetics consultant and was absolutely amazing! I wanted the new Milani Matte Lipsticks, but they were sold out within the first week. She made another order after my request. Becky was very patient and extremely kind. She took my information and the types of lipsticks I wanted and put them aside for me to come in and purchase. Super professional with the entire process. A lot of places will say they will help you and follow up, but she actually went above and beyond. read more

I've actually had good experiences here so far. After learning the hard way that the Rite Aid on 7th Ave and 5th St is horrible (and then realizing it's quite notorious for being horrible by reading the Yelp reviews--should have read them before ever setting foot in that hell hole), I decided to walk a little farther from my apartment and check out the CVS. Apparently, it's not getting rave reviews overall either on here, but I actually like it (as compared to Rite Aide especially). Better selection of beauty products than Rite Aid BY FAR (shampoos, body washes, face washes, make-up, ect), much cleaner, and I thought the staff was friendlier. Haven't gotten a prescription filled here yet, but I'm considering switching to here. read more

I noticed this CVS has a bunch of bad reviews and I felt I had to write about my experience. First, parking on premises in Park Slope, enough said. I went in to fill a prescription late on a Sunday night only to find out that the directions weren't written on the script. So since they can't fill it by law (otherwise risk losing their licenses and livelihood), I went back to the 24 hr Vet and had it filled out. When I returned, the vet had forgotten something else, and while I did have to wait a long time, they took it upon themselves to search for the vet in their computer and while talking with the vet on the phone were able to sort everything out. Thankfully I left with the medicine. They were extremely helpful and understanding. The fault was not theirs that it took so long and I will be returning. read more

I had to switch to Neergard's after they started treating me like a drug addict when I filled my pain medication, which they just seemed to have run out of every time or some other excuse. It's bad enough living with so much pain - I don't need that kind of shit. They change pharmacists every five minutes also. read more

I overheard, as clear as day, every word between that quiet, shy pharmacist and you, a boastful man who claims to be of the gay persuasion, but I know better. You slept with my sister two weeks ago to the day, and I will not accept your claims of homosexuality. Now, for the important part. When you were asking for your prescription to be filled, you handed the pharmacist an EXPIRED peanuts comic, not an insurance card. This could have been quite the embarrassment, but the pharmacist tried to salvage your dignity by mentioning offhand that they typically only do deliveries with your "type of insurance", namely, the nonexistent type? You then insisted that you needed this Percocet for your back pain. But tell me this, Casey, could someone with chronic back problems deadlift 280 at the gym, and then deadlift my 245 LB sister in the bedroom? Unlikely. So this pharmacist finally agreed to give you the dope, so to speak, but he warned you to be discreet, his job depended upon it. Why didn't he call out my name, you ask, isn't that the proper way to let a patient know their prescription is ready? WELL, Casey, he TOLD YOU to be discreet, of course he wasn't going to call it out, you fool! yo, that girl who usually works in the photo department is the nastiest bitch ever...even if you try to be nice to her. None of them upfront are very pleasant, but at least you can get some decency if you talk to them a little...not that bitch. Shes a miserable person with a horrible attitude. On 10/21/2013 at about 12pm I was stopped a few steps out the door and accused of taking something off the shelf and not paying for it. The guy who came up to me was very unprofessional and not in any type of uniform. I guess he was one of their under cover security guards. He asked to to check my bag. I was highly offended because I stop by this CVS almost every day. Sometimes I just like to look around. In my bag was a water bottle canteen and nothing else. He felt stupid but I still won't be able to get over that embarrassment and shock. I rehearsed this story to many of the clients who work at my job next door. Most of them are caucasion and pointed to to their wrist letting me know it was the color of my skin that had that guy stop me. I never brought race up myself, they brought it up for me. this is in regards to all cvs not just this location in particular.. I feel that this company does not value there customers because they can't even value there employees.. everything I go in these stores there's different people.. barely have hours and not to mention there pay sucks.. no one can live on 9,10 or even 11 and hour .. and part time.. BUT guess what to handle coffee at Starbucks u get at least 15 an hour and a good set of hours.. hmm .. but to handle pharmaceuticals and provide customer and patient care u get zilch .. cvs should b ashamed.. don't tell me ya not making any money when ya constantly opening new locations. !!! value ur employees!!! I will write soon.. because guess what I know at least 4 cvs employees that I hope and pray find something better because this isn't it.. so guess wat CVS .. ur going to lose a lot more people.. really have employees that's assigned for one day and only 4 hours..
