Oak Park is hands down the most pleasant pharmacy I've ever been to. My prescriptions are always ready, and the staff is consistently friendly, patient, and welcoming. None of the snobby attitudes you get at the Walgreens/Duane Reade around the city. Everything is fairly priced, and when I didn't have insurance, the pharmacist had helped me find a GoodRx code to get the lowest price possible. That says a lot about a person, which is truly heartwarming. I also love that their convenience shop area aren't locked up, so I can actually shop without having to flag an employee down. I don't live in South Slope anymore, but this is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC. Oak Park has a super convenient location right across from the F train (15th St-Bartel Pritchard Cir), so it makes it very easy to finPlus, there are great places to eat nearby and Prospect Park right there, which makes picking up a prescription part of a nice errand instead of a chore. read more

Always helpful and friendly, and always answers the phone! They a great at maintaining consistent supply for some meds that can tend to go through shortages. They also offer delivery, even longer distance (for a fee). Definitely recommend for the customer sevice and stock! read more

I've been going here for ~ ten years as I like supporting local businesses and they generally have everything I need pharmacy-wise plus small toys and basic art supplies for my toddler. Right now I'm 40 years old and visibly pregnant (as in, due in the next few weeks). Wednesday is senior citizen day and their checkout clerk told me i looked old. When I pointed out my hair was gray because i'm pregnant and can't dye it, she told me i *still* looked old. I thought that was unnecessarily rude and hurtful. In the future I'll stick to stores where the staff doesn't feel the need to comment on my appearance. Oak Park has lost my business. read more

I like this neighborhood pharmacy. I have been here a few times and I like how well-stocked they are with toiletries and OTC drugs. The prices are reasonable and I enjoy going to a family-owned store as opposed to a mainstreet pharmacy like CVS or Walgreen. The only thing downside is that they are closed on Sundays but since they are privately/family- owned, I completely understand the need for a day off! read more

What a wonderful pharmacy! It's a real neighborhood place where they care about their customers and do everything they can to ensure their good health. They are always helpful, anticipating the need to refill prescriptions and filling you in on everything you need to know. My husband has several health issues and they are consistently on top of his medications. I used this place only when I needed to drop off/pick up prescribed meds that I had from a dentist, who was sporadically practicing this direction. Meaning? I would have bothered anywhere but here unless I had a particular reason. Every time after I spent any amount of time, I left here with something unpleasant or disturbing, and mostly it was caused by the stocky male clerk whose favorite pastime was harassing customers. The last time when I was here, I had to stay until the end of their business hour--they close pretty early--in order to pick up the meds, and that much they took. When I finally grabbed the bag and was headed to the exit/entrance, I was alarmed to hear the said stocky man's announcement behind my back. 'The store is closed. You can't get out anymore.' I wondered what this creep was trying to achieve but apparently something inappropriate, which could range from an unsavory joke to a real kidnap/confinement/assault attempt. 'Then I will call 911.' After I said to get myself out of this creepy situation, this stock guy showed some mixed messages ranging from that it was my fault to stay inside the store after business hours (!??!) to that it was unfriendly of me to react a lighthearted joke (!??) as I did. At any rate, I never went back to this creep store ever since. It would be unfathomable if the creep still works here and odds are, probably he does. There are very few chains on Prospect Park West in Windsor Terrace and certainly, at the moment, none of the giant drugstore conglomerates have taken root here. Oak Parks Pharmacy is old school - the pharmacists seem to know everyone by name and although the selection on the shelves can be slim, you can always find at least one brand of what you need. There's also a photocopier in the corner - one of the only ones on this strip that still works. read more

The perfect neighborhood pharmacy. What a difference from a chain store pharmacy. The pharmacist is so quick to fill prescriptions, they are usually ready before I even get there (especially when they see its for my kids) and helpful with recommendations for over the counter stuff (including natural products), and we have never had a long line. I really wanted to support a local pharmacy in the neighborhood but sadly I will not go to Oak Park again. I supported them all summer and on all my visits, the employees were friendly, nobody wears masks except for customers and sometimes the person up front. The pharmacy employees all work maskless and only the person checking you out pulls their masks up with the same hand they use to give you your purchases. They don't provide clean pens to sign for your prescriptions or hand sanitizer to use after using a pen that someone just used. On my last visit not a single person working in the store had a mask on. Like many people picking up prescriptions I am high risk and don't feel safe in there. I would love to return with my business if they start following CDC guidelines. read more

I love this place. It's the kind of local shop where they actually know my name before I say it when I go to pick up a prescription. They're so helpful and give good advice when necessary. The old fashioned vibe is why I go here -- sure it's not perfect, but after using Target pharmacy for 2 years, I'm glad to go to a pharmacist who actually cares about my well-being and takes the time to do his job right. Just like most of the business in Park Slope, this one obviously has been here for a while and emanates the old neighborhood vibe. Thus, if you live in this neighborhood, you should like this place. It's small and quirky, and obviously not great for finding your obscure or super high-end cosmetic product (I'm a makeup artist so I get that), but that's what the internet is for. It's a pharmacy first and foremost, and their service is quick, efficient, and completely personable. They know me and my (and my cat's) prescriptions, and are always super friendly. That being said, neither they nor their brother pharmacy, Ballard, which is one block up, are open on Sundays. At all. I came accross this pharmacy when I was helping friend who just got a recent surgery done. Doctor gave me list of materials for the dressing, I look for it in cvs and wallgreens (friday morning), I couldn't find the item and if they order it, I wouldn't get it till monday. When I walked into this mom & pop pharmacy on friday afternoon as my last hope and asked them to order it they told me to come back at 5 pm...these are the people who will get delivery multiple times a day and also get delivery on SATURDAY!!!! While chain lets the wound get rotten till he get infection. yes they do got limited supply/products but if you talk to the friendly staff they will do their best to get the product on the same day!!! read more

Oak Park Pharmacy is as good as it gets. I have been going there since moving to Windsor Terrace in the 90s: The pharmacists are attentive, intelligent, and caring to boot. When my husband had cancer, they filled his prescriptions immediately, called when they were ready, and delivered everything. It's a place with service and people you can always depend on. I can also tell you I'm a serious shopper and their prices on drug, cosmetic and household items are much less than at big name drug stores--buy all my stuff there. My only complaint is that they are not open on Sundays. Otherwise I have found the pharmacist, Mohammed, to be unbelievably helpful and nice. Their HBA prices are a little more and the selections less extensive than the chains, but that is normal. read more
