I recently came to Rite Aid to purchase my toddler medication on Monday June 12. I noticed that they close at 11 so I was in a rush and I made it by 1040. There were a few people outside, and I noticed that they were locking the doors. there was 2 employees and it seem there was no consideration for the multiple people waiting outside, confused why it was closing sooner then the given time. No explanation witch leads me to believe there was no management to approve of this. It was extremely inconsiderate, and needs to be taken seriously. Pros: Plenty of goods with some convenient prices. Cons: Long lines due to severe understaffing. I HATE when businesses only hire a scarce amount of employees to save a buck. It's stupid, pathetic and unfair for the workers, leaving them scrambling to take care as much customers as possible. This has been going on for years! Speaking of employees, why is that Frantz guy still working there? He's very disrespectful to the customers, rushing them and causing verbal fights. If he doesn't want to work at RiteAid, quit! There are plenty of jobs out there. The place needs better security. There were a few visits in the past where idiotic shoplifters got away with taking merchandise. Instead of standing at the door all day, the guard needs to walk around the aisles. If you need to get stuff for the house, this RiteAid is convenient. This is the only place in the immediate area who's open 24 hours and takes credit cards with no minimum, so I usually go here at 3am to buy candy. Their sale prices are great. Almost makes up for the fact that they charge obscene amounts for everything else. Even the generic Rite Aid brand costs twice as much as the Krasdale at your local bodega. I've visited this location a number of times and no matter what cashier I get, they have never given me the correct change. They always say "I owe you a penny" or "I owe you a dime". You guys owe me 23 cents. Is it dumb to complain over a few pennies? Yes, but it's adding up quickly. The customer service is trash. I tried signing up for a Rite Aid card since I figured I would be shopping here often, but I wasn't allowed to. I was told "there's too big of a line" and another time I was told that they simple couldn't do it at their location. I asked to speak to a manager but that was also refused. I finally ended up going to a different location and all they had to do is hand me a card I needed to fill out in my own time. Not my neighborhood RA but i stopped because i have to get drinks. Their beverage selection could be improved tho. i kinda liked this RA because they sell tons of UTZ chips with reduced price. Wow! I'm so surprised by the negative reviews. I'm not sure if the other yelpers are native to the neighborhood but I am. This location has made major improvements, making complete renovations and adding a GNC. The lines can sometimes be long but definitely not a reason to give 1 star. The lines move pretty fast and I love that it is open 24 hours!!! That makes up for long lines. Totally appreciate this location being there for my 2 and 3 am emergencies. Note: I do not have much experience with their pharmacy. I have been happy with the service the very few times I have used the pharmacy. I've been going to this rite aid location for over a decade and the service has gotten worse and worse. Employees complain and argue with each other in front of customers. The line extends to the back isles sometimes and they never seem to have enough staff to handle it. I was there recently and the cashier was on her phone during most of our transaction, terrible. The line was so long yesterday that a cashier was working two separate registers at the same time, and had the nerve to ask me to grab my receipt when it printed out, so she could help the guest at the other register. There's also a worker that follows customers around, I'm assuming to watch for stealing, however it's clear which ethnicity of patrons that he chooses to follow. The only thing that earns them half a star is they are open 24hrs. Sadly, I tried to go Sunday night around 1:30 am and there were signs on the door saying they were cleaning and would reopen at 6am. I was suffering from pneumonia and sent a friend to pick up my prescription. They gave him a prescription for promethazine with no instructions. I had no idea I was taking something equivalent to morphine which could have been a lethal combination with other medicine. Oh and did I mention the nightmares? I hate this pharmacy. My prescriptions are never ready. So I always call ahead and give them plenty of time. Yet when I arrive usually everyone acts surprised, there is no record of me calling and they have to start from scratch. I've been waiting 45 min after calling 2 hours ago and was told it would be ready in 30. One time I was double charged for a prescription. Then when they tried to return it they double charged me again. It took over an hour to get it squared away. Really awful. read more

They got new self checkouts but will only put tiny greeting bag cards by them instead of normal bags - asked for just one as they were using regular size bags at the other checkout and they wouldn't give it to me even though they had a stack. Good amount of parking in Brooklyn surprisingly. The parking itself is a big plus. It's conveniently right by the Ralph Ave. stop. This place gets one star from me and that's because I have no option to give 0 stars. This is the only 24 hour pharmacy in the area, however save yourself the aggrivation. They are clearly understaffed, the few staff they do have are proudly ignorant as to what belongs where and who should be doing what, and will tell you in a NY min, I'm not permanent here. Not satisfied with your service here, don't expect to be there is no manager running the place hence the apparent big ass free for all. The pharmaceutical section worries me the most with the exception of one lady there and I'm sorry I don't know her name to tell you I will find out, the competence of the licensed staff is questionable. Be clear with your physicians if you have more than one as to what you are taking as this pharmacy may not tell you about drug interactions or know the difference between drugs to tell you if you are taking the same thing twice or doubling up on the same med under different names... Lets start with the cashier name Frantz, a much older man with a heavy accent who clearly shouldn't be working this position at his age. His attitude is absolutely disgusting. I am a frequent customer at this location and although they are short staffed majority of the time he is guaranteed to make your shopping experience a bad one. He is rude and aggressive rushing you to take out your points card and money so he can get to the next customer. I get it, when it's rush hour and your short staffed and the line is long you want to work as quickly as possible, however he is ALWAYS like this regardless of the traffic and I've observed his behavior with other customers during slow nights. It's mind boggling to me how he constantly gets away with this behavior as his customer service skills and level of professionalism is non existent. It's appalling. He shoves the receipt and bags in your hands before you can even close your wallet or pocketbook making you feel like you're literally being pushed out of the store. The last time I had him he yelled "Hurry up! hurry up! gimme your card" as I was taking my money out to pay obviously irritated that he had to work the register. He did the same thing to the woman before me and I was praying that I would get the other cashier as he is much nicer. I'll also add that it was not busy at this hour. I'm not sure whats going on with management at this location but it is clear that he does NOT want to work there. Unfortunately there was no manager available to report him but this is something that has been going on for weeks and it must be addressed. My advise to management is to fire him so that he can work a job that he is happy to work for and stop making everyone else's experience a horrible one. read more

Why is there no way to review this with no stars?! This is by far the worst pharmacy in New York. The staff are completely useless as is corporate office. The store has a horrible selection of products and the actual pharmacy?! OH MY GOD. They couldn't fill a prescription correctly if someone was holding a gun to their heads. Morons. For example, I called to price a prescription and specfically told them NOT to fill it yet. They filled it anyway. I went to pick it up and they filled it twice, in addition to filling one I did not request (Well, I didn't request this one either but...). I called back and asked them to fill an additonal refill which they did not do. Instead they tried to give me someone else's prescription. Idiots. There are a few employees that are nice and helpful and there are a few that should not have jobs where they have to interact with the public. The fact that they are constantly restocking with those horrible bins that block the isles but they are forever out of stuff is baffling to me. There is another store less than a mile away and that doesn't seem to have that problem. Must be different management. This location is convenient but that's about all that can be said about it. Their pharmacy staff seem to be a dangerous combination of incompetent and lazy. I tried to refill a prescription a month ago, and they told me I had no refills left, even though I was 100% certain I did. After several phone calls, I had to go on a trip without enough medication. After coming back I had to escalate all the way to their regional manager just to get them to transfer my refill from the location where the prescription was (which they insisted didn't exist for the past 3 weeks). Fortunately the medication I take only reduces my pain and slow the onset of my chronic condition, and is not life saving. If you take Insulin, maybe go somewhere else. read more

I live across the street from this Rite Aid. Which means I am a frequent shopper. I'm also familiar with most of the staff. Usually an ok experience. Tonight wasn't a usual experience. I was doing my laundry at the laundromat next door to Rite Aid. While my clothes were in the washer, I killed time by going in Rite Aid to potentially purchase some makeup. I picked up 2 Black Opal foundation sticks and looked around some more. Once again killing time. I finally decided that I wasn't going to purchase the products so I went back to the isle and placed them where I found them. Went back next door to the laundromat to place my clothing in the dryer. The security guard followed me out Rite Aid into the laundromat "ask me" / accuse me of stealing the foundation sticks. I was shocked, embarrassed and I felt very disrespected. I am a manager for a cosmetic retail company for 13 years and there is no protocol that states the security guard has the right to follow customers out the store to accuse them of stealing. Hi to all that have suffered at the Hands of a Rite Aid Rx. Yesterday I went to work in such a hurry that I forgot to take my medications. I realize this is my fault. Yet I turned to my over 20 year relationship with Rite Aid for help. They absolutely had no personal anything they didn't care. The medications I needed were not narcotics it was my well established allergy med's. I needed one pill of each and they wouldn't help. I called my doctor and she sent a prescription for one pill of each so that I wouldn't have to continue to suffer. The girls in the Rx took it personally like it was funny not to give me what I needed even after the doctor called in the script. They said they didn't get it that the script line can take an hour or so for them to receive the prescription. I had to bother my doctor yet again. She had to call the pharmacy yet again and then after that they told me it would be 20 minutes. Really there is nothing personal about Rite Aid I'm out of here. read more
