This CVS is a small one. I needed to buy a box of Tylenol pills and all the Tylenol brand boxes are caged up with a lock that the staff attendant needs to open up. So then I decided to go for the CVS generic brand and it was on sale for so then I got a bottle and then try to line up for the self checkout but there was no line to distinguish the self checkout versus the cashier counter. I was busy waiting in line because there was just 1 line and then I got fed up that there were empty self checkouts and no one went to any from the line. I just walk through the line and to the counter. Scanned my barcode and got my discount perk for the Tylenol because I was burning with a fever that day. Did not realize that this store was 24 hours until later on so that's good about this store. You can just pop in to get snacks, drinks, or household goods. But just almost every aisle is locked up so that's what is bad about it. Also this time my receipt did not print out many coupons like it usually does. It just printed 1 coupon only so my receipt was mad short. Unbelievable! read more

I went to a nearby CityMD, and while checking in they asked which pharmacy I use. I mentioned I needed one that stayed open late, and they recommended this location. I don't usually use CVS for my prescriptions, so I wasn't sure about their hours or how late the pharmacy part stayed open. Honestly, I was skeptical at first I didn't expect a big chain pharmacy to stay open that late. When I got there, there was a bit of a line, but the staff was friendly and attentive. My prescription was originally scheduled to be ready the following afternoon, but they managed to fill it the same day, which made me so happy! I've been dealing with a bad cough and asthma/allergy flare-up, and another day of waiting would've been rough. The pharmacy technician and staff were so helpful and kind. Yes, there's a bit of a wait, but that's not on the workers they're clearly doing their best. Do not even CONSIDER using this pharmacy. I have been coming here for 7 months and literally EVERY time I try to pick up my prescription there is a problem. There are usually about 20 people in the pick-up line and 10 in the drop-off line. People usually wait in the pick-up line for about 25 minutes, then get sent over to the drop-off line for another 25 mins. because there is a problem, the back to the pick-up line. You get a different story from multiple clerks. If you receive a notification saying that your prescription is ready - do NOT believe it. Open 24 hours - a very convenient feature of this location on 9th street in Park Slope. I went here yesterday for some Tylenol at 6 am. There was one person working there and he was so friendly and helpful ! I was really impressed by how kind and professional he was. After locating the item, he assisted me with the checkout process - the scanner wouldn't give the 2 for 1 discount so we had to void one bottle. With everything becoming more and more automated, having help made the process easy, quick and convenient. I also had a chance to check out the latest Halloween decorations and candies. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This pharmacy is so mismanaged. They always have lines crawling into the aisle & only 2 people at the register to help. They send you to the other line for anything they are unclear about & yes, you have to wait there too! If you can move your prescriptions, you definitely should! The ONLY good thing here is one assistant named Sutton. She was so helpful & expedient with everything. She did not make me go to other line & wait again but actually figured stuff out. This is a terrible pharmacy. Customer service and just basic communication is zilch. I made an appointment for third of 3 vaccines only to find when I arrived the vaccine I needed was not stocked. I was told it would arrive by X day and a new appointment made. Arrived and still not there. I waited a few days and called--no human just prompts with recording of my responses. I ended with "Please call." The recording promised a call back in an hour. 2 days later? Nada. Picking up a prescription can take an hour of waiting. read more

Wow. Honestly the worst Pharmacy experience in my entire life. And for this prior reviewer, telling the many many customers who've complained, that "we're the problem," please...you couldn't be more obvious that you're one of the terrible employees of this awful pharmacy, who routinely treats its customers exactly like you said, that "we're the problem," yet it's not (only) about the long lines, or as you claim, "our insurance not wanting to pay," its mostly about the way you treat people, and have zero empathy or even a shred of apathy. After having my Doctor send my script to the Target CVS just before 6pm, not realizing they'd already closed, I went to this location to try to get it filled there instead. On arrival, when they plugged my info into their computer, they made up some completely false reason for why it couldn't be transferred to that location, told me the other CVS had already accepted it, so it couldn't be moved from that location. Not possible, since that location had been closed since before the prescription had even been written or sent to CVS at all. Then, they told me to call my Doctors office back and have it transferred. I waited on the phone with the after hours operators until they told me that my prescription had both RECEIVED and then BEEN ACCEPTED by that CVS location on 9th St. By this time I was told I had to get back in line again, so after waiting in a 12-15 person line for the second time, once again I was told that they didn't have my prescription in their system yet, and to wait a half hour. Well, long story short, I waited almost 3 hours, to not get my prescription the day that I needed it. Which on its own would have been bad enough, but their employees were rude, condescending, and acted like it was my fault, just like that other "reviewer" claimed, that they not only refused to do their job, let alone in the slowest way possible, but they couldn't even be bothered to attempt being friendly. They're down right nasty to their customers. If I lived closest to this location, I'd still go elsewhere. I have never been to a more horrible pharmacy. The CVS in Carroll Gardens didn't have my meds in stock, so they sent me over here. I got a text saying they were waiting for insurance approval. I kept calling and leaving messages saying my insurance doesn't pay for this drug, so please just fill it. But no one listened to the message or responded or filled it. ALL DAY. I was leaving town the next day and needed this. Finally I went to the store. A pharmacist, a white woman maybe in her 30s with aviator glasses, said, yeah, haha, they were about 4 hours behind answering phone calls. Like it was just a joke. She said get in line. it was 30 people long. Behind the counter, workers were randomly milling around. Junk lay on the floor--a Special K box, a greeting card. (When i worked in a pharmacy as a teen, my boss made up keep it clean "It sends a message," he said. "These are people's lives in our hands.") The line was at least 20 people long. behind the counter, one employee just seemed to stand there, bopping to the music they were playing in the midst of the chaos and cereal boxes. When it was finally my turn, I said I thought I was getting a 90-day supply. The pharmacist I'd dealt with got nasty, she held up the bag of pills and shook them while she said, "30 days, 30 days," and jiggled her body in this bizarre mocking dance at me. I asked what she was doing. She said, "I don't even have to sell these to you!" Wow. it was like the Twilight Zone meets 3rd world dump. This in a rich country that spends 20% of its GDP on healthcare. I can't imagine what the CVSs in less prosperous Brooklyn neighborhoods are like. We all know that healthcare companies like CVS, which now owns Aetna, are massive profit centers that don't care about people. But do they have to be this obvious? This CVS location made my 5-year-old sick by refusing to fill her antibiotics prescription. Their reason? They misspelled her name by one letter. They rudely dismissed me when they couldn't find her prescription, having spent about 2 seconds looking. Their automated system told me they had a script, but their humans working the counter couldn't find it and seemed convinced I was lying... as if it were OxyContin instead of amoxicillin. After failing to get me to leave, one of them finally noticed they had the exact same prescription for someone with the exact same DOB and and name, except for one letter. All of a sudden their attitude became less aggressive and they started avoiding eye contact. They knew they were wrong. Still, they offered no apology and refused to acknowledge their many mistakes. I guess that lack of character, accountability and basic life skills gets you a job at CVS. read more

What's 5 minutes when you're once again waiting 45 minutes (at least) to pick up your monthly prescription. I came the last two days at, what I thought, would be an off hour away from the rush, and seeing that it was a 30 person line at 9pm had me itching to write this review but alas, I gave the pharmacists the benefit of the doubt for some reason, (even though they are consistently defective at their job with dead eyes that tell of handing out rations at the apocalypse !), but today, the third day of coming at a different but still off hour time, the line is no different and I am able to be so verbose in what would usually be a one sentence review, because I have all the time in the world to describe how much I hate this location and if their was a pharmacy closer to my apartment, I would have switched last year. The pharmacy is really a well-greased machine now and with the most kind and compassionate and helpful staff. The head pharmacist, Ben, is just a dynamo! So smart, personable, caring, and helpful. They take my insurance but I had a complicated issue because I needed the scrips for my concussion billed to my No Fault insurance instead after I was hit by a car. I wish I had gotten the name of the two other lovely staff members with whom I dealt but I was floored by how kind, diligent, and knowledgeable everyone was. I had to wait about 15 mins while my scrips were reprocessed and so i nosily witnessed the staff dealing with other customers, and the service seemed consistently great. I hate to choose a chain over a mom and pop, but I've decided to switch my other scrips over to CVS because I never received this person-centered care at Neergaard or Ballard (i only went to CVS because I heard they accept No Fault). People are in bad shape sometimes when they pick up scrips (I was dizzy the entire time I was there because of my concussion) and it makes a big difference when pharmacy staff are lovely and attentive when you're not feeling well, and it was also important because i'm not tracking well that the pharmacist was so intelligible. One small recommendation: there's just one chair in the back and on the chair it says it's only for people who get the Covid vaccine... but I was very dizzy and I'm sure there are disabled people waiting for meds so i strongly recommend management place a couple of seats in the back for people waiting for their scrips. read more

I rarely write reviews, even more rarely negative ones. The pharmacists/techs I dealt with at this pharmacy are extremely rude, neglectful, and unhelpful. I came in at 6pm for a prescription and the pharmacy said that they could not find it, despite the fact that I had received confirmation an hour prior that it was ready. Because I couldn't miss a night of my medication, they suggested I go to CITYMD to get it re-prescribed. I paid the copay at CITYMD (again, despite having a prescription already) and then returned to CVS. I returned to CVS at 8pm immediately after CITYMD and waited 45 minutes to be seen, when a pharmtech named Hannah or Heather (can't tell) accosted me for "coming in late" (I had been there trying to pick up since 6pm) and then under her breath said "I fucking hate people." By this point, their "registers had closed" and she had me pay $79 for the medication that is fully covered by my insurance. When I arrived home, I realized she gave me the WRONG medication. I came back in this morning and a different pharmacist tried to say that the medications are interchangeable (they are NOT), which is extremely dangerous. I have never been treated so horribly by supposed "medical professionals." I have now been waiting 45 minutes for the correct medication-- it's not looking promising. OPEN 24 HOURS!!! It's great to have in the neighborhood since rite aid closes early. I always love the helpful staff here and the mass selection. If you download the CVS app you can get all the manufacturers coupons and save a bunch!! This store also has a PARKING LOT AND IN PARK SLOPE ANYTHING WITH A PARKING LOT IS HEAVEN!! How does my original 2-star review actually go down to a 1-star? Read on my wayward friend. I approach the counter Thursday night and the guy said to me computer was down. I ask if I could leave my prescription and pick it up tomorrow. Cool. *hands paper* Friday night rolls about and the girl behind the counter hands me the prescription and tells me $79.99. She herself seemed as baffled as I was and asked, "Do you have insurance?" (You mean you didn't see me in the system? Idiot.) "Um... yes" Waits 3 minutes as another girl (who is actually a neighbor in my building but wouldn't acknowledge me) taps away at the computer... (awkward seeing a neighbor would know what's wrong with you). First girl comes back and tells me $69.99. Lol (Although I supposedly have a high deductible on my insurance I can't help but stagger). Do you have anything smaller or a generic brand? No. I paused and instead of /table flipping like I always do, I calmly asked for my prescription back. Waited 5 minutes as she went through slips and slips of paper. Thank you. Went down a few blocks to another pharmacy and got the SAME exact prescription for $56. read more

This store is so cluttered and difficult to shop in! First, when you walk in, the first 5 aisles or so are blocked off by displays or other crap, forcing you to walk to the back of the store to enter any of these aisles. It's just annoying. Then, the aisles are always impassable due to large boxes and plastic containers stacked up in the middle of them, waiting to be unpacked. The blocked off aisles are mainly the beauty product aisles, and I'm going to assume it has something to do with some convoluted effort to deter shoplifters. That being said, so many items are also locked up at this store, for the same aforementioned reason, and it's near impossible to find a worker, never mind one that has a key!! If you do find one, you can expect an annoyed response from them, and will have to wait even longer until they get around to sauntering over to you. Examples of locked up items here are: deodorant, brand name OTC medications (like Advil), ICE CREAM, all frozen foods, many facial care products, and more. Redeeming qualities: a private parking lot (not advisable at night -it's dark and isolated). It's 24 hour, and pharmacy is open later than the other terrible CVS that's closer to my house. I'm not sure if folks there are burnt out, or understaffed, or if the policies and systems are inefficient, but in the past few months every single time I've been to pick up a prescription (for which I was notified that it was ready) there was some substantial mistake. Each visit took multiple conversations between different counters, and almost every time I left without something I was told was ready. This last time I went in person to ask that no upcoming prescriptions were filled as I was leaving town and would do it there.
