STAY AWAY! Horrible place, horrible service, will put your health at risk. They've posted incorrect pharmacy hours during COVID which has left elderly and at-risk persons putting themselves in harms way for NO reason. Online AND in-store, the pharmacy is stated as opening at 8AM. But when patients arrive at that time, they are left waiting until eventually an extremely rude employee comes by to say the hours are different than what is posted everywhere. read more

This is perhaps the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They do not fill prescriptions when they are called in, the lines are long and consistent throughout the day. Everyone is miserable. The manager Slava should resign. A major overhaul of how this pharamcy is run is needed to provide patient care. People expect to be treated with respect for their time and health concerns when they go to a pharmacy, and this is not what you will find here. I pray for a new option. read more

Sooner or later, the pharmacist at the CVS on 9th St. in Park Slope will kill someone-- If he hasn't already. Last night (Monday evening, January 7, 2019 at about 9:30 PM), I accompanied a friend to the pharmacy. We came from directly from the Methodist Emergency Deparment: 1. When we asked the pharmacist to talk to us about the medication he said, "Everything you need to know is on the paper with the pills." (essentially he was refusing to speak to us). 2. When we tried to ask a question he refused to come close to us to talk, instead staying in the back room sorting pills. We basically had to shout our questions. This is a clear violation of HIPAA regulations. Any customer passing by to find cough drops or reading glasses would have overheard our conversation. 3. When I asked about the first line medication for cluster headaches, he replied (from over 10 feet away), "Motrin." This wasn't an answer. 4. My friend was very sick. The pharmacist was, simply, lazy and mean. An equally big problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way to complain directly to CVS. Perhaps they have too many complaints like these to handle them. read more

Never before have I had a person cut in front of me in line (purposely, and without apology...at least make up some urgent situation!) and then turn around and ask me for the change needed to complete their purchase. I won't hold this against CVS, but just rather a comment on general manners. If you want money, provide good karma into the world. At the very least, wait your turn. I lose my wallet more than a supermodel loses her lunch. This is important because usually I'll notice when I do it fairly quickly after I've managed to leave it somewhere. I'll need to get on the train, or I'll need to buy something or, well, I won't get into any of the other reasons I'd need my wallet, suffice it to say I would. Except the other night, when walking home from the gym. After I stopped by the CVS (and purchasing the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches which have become the bane of my existence), I didn't need it. Key unlocks the door, and I don't take a bus or train home from there. So when I woke up in the morning, I couldn't figure out where I left it. The CVS was the last place I remembered having it, but I could have sworn I put in my pocket. After tearing my house apart for 30 minutes, I still couldn't find it and, after calling CVS multiple times to find the phone busy, I just stopped by. They didn't have it, either. Sadness. So I used the extra metrocards I keep around for just such a purpose, went to work and arrived to find voicemail from CVS letting me know they in fact DID have my wallet (joy!) and to call them back. I did as instructed, only to find the phone apparently permanently busy. Fortunately, nothing shady occurred and I was able to retrieve my wallet upon my return. Someone had snagged my unlimited monthly metrocard*, but it's a small price to pay for having my grandfather's wallet back, as well as my ID, credit cards and tchockes. Thanks, CVS. * - Every time I lose my wallet, someone takes something. Usually it's the money, but since I didn't have any in there this time around (insert recession joke here), I guess they opted for the only thing of value. Probably some of the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. I have found the employees to be rude and unhelpful time and time again. Employees are usually talking on their cell phones and seem annoyed that they have to ring up your purchase and especially if you ask for any kind of assistance. I regularly see signs stating that a product is on sale only to read more closely and see that the sale ended over a week ago. I have been told they don't sell something only to find it myself, and I have been told that they are out of product X and discovered that that is not the case. The pharmacy staff is much more friendly and efficient than the front of the house staff. The pharmacy is always under staffed and over busy, but they work hard to help you. The same cannot be said for the cashiers up front. They are normally just talking to each other and are a hot mess. No sense of urgency. They once made me stand there for 30 minutes while they looked for my photo order and were just screaming at each other. Once they found it they blamed each other for placing it in the wrong bin. Convenient 24 hour pharmacy in a good location. You would think that if it's 24 hours the shelves would be continuously stocked and straightened up but that never seems to be the case. Ah, first world problems. Murphy's law always seems to be in effect here: This place gets really busy after work and on weekends, and whenever this happens there's always a shortage of knowledgable cashiers and a surplus of annoying customers who demand a price check. Be prepared for some irritating wait times. However, I will keep coming back here like Rihanna does to Chris Brown because I'm a coupon slut and every time I buy something I get 6 super useful coupons. I am giving zero Stars. This pharmacy lies . It is factual that tonight they chose to risk my life over giving me my already filled prescription when I arrived at 9:01. I'm there after spending 80$ to get there after work bc they filled it mid afternoon and I'm im in a cab to make it on time praying that my life won't be in jeopardy and they willl listen. Let's say-ok you were one minute late. Fine. The day before? Issues again with the new pre-authorization targeted against poor people on Medicaid. I actually don't blame Medicaid--I blame the PHARMACIST WHO REFUSED to speak to my psychiatrist on the phone telling he is JUST pre-authorized this. I have been receiving this medication for MONTHS. This is not new. Where is humanity? This isn't a McDonald's? I didn't walk up and ask for fries only to be disappointed they're all out. I'm trying to get meds I am out of and now am here suffering without them in withdrawal. This my LITERAL life the pharmacist --who once I find her name --I will be filling a report against. Standing being the counter still working at 9:01 and they refused and told me to come back in the morning. They do not deserve to be in this profession of mental health. If only my primary care physician would switch my prescriptions over to Capsule as I have requested on multiple occasions. Then I would no longer have to go to this place where joy goes to die and common sense was long ago murdered. The CVS pharmacy will text you a thousand times to come pick up your prescription, and you do, and you wait on the endless line for most of your lifetime, only to learn that the prescription inexplicably requires ID to be filled--though that information was never provided once in their countless text reminders. Fun stuff! Turns out you've wasted all your time for no good reason, with the promise of getting to do it all again the next time, since you have to come back with ID again even though they have never required this of you before. Never try to call in a prescription at the pharmacy here. Especially don't try to use CVS.com's online system, it flat out doesn't work. Twice when I tried to transfer prescriptions they threw up their hands at me and told me I wasn't showing up. Then they told me to transfer it. Which is what I'd done in the first place. Apparently the managers here are not only not geniuses, but are also incompetent morons. 3) The f*cking razor blade dispenser has been broken since I moved to the neighborhood IN JANUARY OF 2007!!!!!!! You're a big corporation - spring for a replacement you cheapskates!!!!!!!! Here's a nice little anecdote from the last time I went; razor blade dispenser was of course broken. I had to go find an employee to use her key to open it up for me. When I asked, she rolled her eyes and looked annoyed to have been asked to help a customer. While she was opening it, I said in a totally good natured half joking way 'You guys ever gonna get this thing fixed?' she responded by COMPLETELY IGNORING my question, and asking back 'You want the 4 or the 8 pack?' I know it's not a life-long career, and I realize the people who work there probably hate their lives, but come on. If you're going to work somewhere, at least do a halfway decent job. As far as CVS's go, this one is...okay. A solid 3-star drugstore/pharmacy. It's good that it has a parking lot, however it can feel very cluttered, and it would help A LOT if they had something to signify where to line up in front of the cashiers/self-checkouts. I can't tell you how many times the "line" devolves into a mob of people, sometimes stretching up into the aisles. There are some other local drugstore/pharmacies that debatably have a greater variety of goods, but CVS gives the best coupons, so... What makes this a 5-star CVS though? Haven't I just been going on and on about how it's mediocre? Well. You know what this drugstore/pharmacy has that others in the neighborhood don't? You know what makes this very CVS so very special? It's Zachary. Who, pray tell, is Zachary, you ask? Why, he is quite possibly one of the best employees that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with, and no, I'm not being facetious. He's friendly without being cloying. He's helpful without making you feel smothering. There was one time that I was entering my phone number into the coupon machine, and he complimented me on the way that I entered it. This happened awhile ago, but I still remember it because of how genuine he was. The store itself is always well-stocked, but it's a pain in the ass if you need to get a prescription filled or speak with a pharmacist because you're typically kept waiting a frustratingly long time. I went in for a flu shot the other day and had to wait 15 minutes in line simply to submit the paperwork. The overall process took at least 30 or 40 minutes. Some of their pharmacists seem knowledgeable and some seem clueless. I find this inconsistency disconcerting, and yet I keep going back because the location and hours are so convenient. read more

I scheduled a minute clinic appointment, and traveled to this CVS to meet at my pre-scheduled time, after booking online. I arrived, signed in, waited. Eventually the young female doctor working at 1pm 10/4/2019 came out and told me she would be taking her break early (lunch scheduled for 2pm according to the post on doctor's door), and she would be unable to see me. She recommended I go elsewhere to see someone, perhaps a CityMD. I explained I had scheduled this quick appointment just in time, before I head to the airport today to fly to Europe. She was unsympathetic and didn't want to see me. I wasted an hour of my time, and am now headed to the airport without seeing a doctor. Big thumbs down for this CVS minute clinic. read more

Horrible service!! Voicemail and text messages are completely inaccurate and impossible to get a helpful response. No voice option to speak with a person. I had 3 medications ready and neither the voicemail or text would recognize all 3. So what are the options but to make a trip there during my md's active hours, so they can call him to discover their error; or make an unnecessary trip to just ask them to call the md and then make another trip to pick up when ready. Wow...my experiences have been so different! Granted the pharmacy can be out of my daughter's meds sometimes so I have to go somewhere else rather than wait 2-3 days for it. Other than that they are always polite to me. I've never gotten the eye-roll when I asked for anything. Believe me I've gotten it in other places so it's not like I wouldn't recognize it. I've been going there for around 15 years. Unfortunately the store has a lot of turn over with the pharmacy. The management arranges deliveries after midnight - which are very noisy and disrespectful to the community. Pleas for daytime deliveries are ignored. Staff has been observed driving wild in the parking lot, loud car radios etc. The parking lot is often filled with garbage, crates and remains a rat infested locale. This place is one hot mess! This is my favorite drugstore in the neighborhood. It is open 24 hours, and also has a Minute Clinic and parking lot. They have a great selection of products, and the store is always clean. I go here all the time, but what made me write this review tonight was my customer service experience. Zach was standing at the door, greeting customers and making himself available to assist every customer. This is not the first time I've seen him do this. Every single time that I've come into this CVS during his shift, he has been there doing the same exact thing. He has been consistently friendly and helpful, and I can't let another day pass without singing his praises. With so many other pharmacies in this neighborhood, it's so great that CVS has an employee that makes this one stand out from the rest. read more

The pharmacist here has some major sass game. I came in just before 2 a.m., because a long day of parading around my gayness had left little time for filling that empty bottle of pills. Therein lies the only reason to come here: the pharmacy is always open. Back to Mr. Drugz. He grumbled that my insurance only allowed mail-order prescriptions (as he found out shortly, that was not the case). He told me it would be twenty minutes (despite there being no other customers). So I dutifully went to my chair and swipe-rejected a few dozen Tinder people; meanwhile I heard much rustling of pills. He must have been filling three different orders. I heard announcements over the staticy P.A. system but nothing pertaining to myself. After it had been almost half an hour, I went up and he said he'd filled my order. I asked him if he'd announced it, and he said they don't do that. He then played the snark card, suggesting that he relies on people's "common sense." I retorted that every other pharmacy I'd been do had done that. He clearly appreciated a man who could stand up for himself, and politely apologized. I had subdued the threat. I was about to give this a high rating for the amusing after-midnight interaction, but then I noticed that he'd taken my insurance card without returning it. I can only imagine the odds of them actually keeping it and not throwing it out. Or perhaps it's a play to make me their indentured servant. How many more orders need I fill? When it comes to setting the mood, let's just say you wouldn't take a date here. Before I came to New York I expected everything to be glamorous, marble-studded, as elaborate as Rhapsody in Blue with the poignancy of Woody Allen's Manhattan. The good, the bad and the downright ugly. The good: open 24 hours, can park in the back, brightly lit, has some good healthy snacks, had a very helpful pharmacist (the pregnant West Indian woman). Two very nice cashiers (the one with the headscarf and the one with the short hair). The bad: filthy carpet (sometimes smells musty), shelves often blocked by merchandise needing to be stocked. The ugly: That horrible cashier--always blatantly rude and nasty. She is the one who works at the photo counter. What is really unfortunate is she is the one who is giving the other cashiers a bad reputation. She is a combination of the bitter older woman (I should have gone to school and done something with my life), and the mean high school girl who tries to hide her insecurity with intimidation, and ladies did you notice that she is actually only rude to us. She is all over the men like a hungry cat looking to lap up some milk. I have only seen the manager twice. One gets the sense that up against mean girl he is just the kid with the pocket protector. Why doesn't he ask CVS to do a survey of this store's customers so they can build a case against this woman and get rid of her? Or, how about some mystery shoppers? This girl name Shaquana she is a good sales associate she helped me with the products I was looking for, the hair products are amazing she help me picked out and she was so polite and always smiling. She knows what she's doing and what she's talking about she know a lot of information about everything. The store is great and the stuff are fit and clean I like the self checkout it's faster for me.
