I have been to this pharmacy several times and each visit I have been impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In fact I have switched to having all my vaccinations for COVID and the flu to this location. Prices for toiletries are very reasonable. I also find that unlike a nearby corporate pharmacy, they do not jack up prices then give you coupons to bring them back down to almost normal! read more

I usually love this place. I made an appointment at the 5th Ave location for my young child to receive a flu vaccine ahead of a trip bc I thought it would be more family friendly than a big box pharmacy. Big mistake. There were many appointments all day long for kids 4-12 to receive flu shots that day. When I arrived, the lovely man at the pharmacy desk informed Camille, the vaccinator, that a child was there for a vaccine. She rudely told him, "I don't do kids, don't ask me again." I asked for an explanation as to why she didn't do kid vaccines given that I had made an appointment. She sort of wavered and said it must have been a glitch. I asked whether not vaccinating children was a preference of hers or a qualification. She wavered again and said there were things "she didn't do." Of course, if you've ever tried to get a young child vaccinated before, you know your window to get it done before the kid starts to freak out is narrow. She said there must be a "glitch" in the system if I was able to book an appointment for a kid vaccine on her day because "she doesn't do kids." I then asked for her name and supervisor and she wouldn't give me either and told me "today I'm the supervisor." I eventually got her name and the name of the owner and was told I needed to call back on a weekday to log a complaint. I don't know whether the business screwed up by having a vaccinator who was not qualified to vaccinate children or if (I think more likely) the vaccinator just doesn't like to deal with children, but either way - it was a perfect storm for upsetting a kid. Get them all worked up for nothing, way to make parenting more difficult! Yeesh. I eventually went across the street to CVS and while it was a zoo (too busy since Rite Aide closed!) it was much less of a headache. read more

But I waited over a half hour just to be told you don't have it, which was annoying enough as it is.. but the thing that actually got me to write this review is that you told me you'd transfer my prescription. CVS called you, you said you'd fax it yesterday afternoon, and you didn't. Now I'm left two days in a row without my really needed medication. I've always preferred the experience of smaller, local pharmacies, and Neergaard truly fills the void here for me in a neighborhood otherwise rife with CVSes, Walgreens, and Rite Aids. The service is a bit friendlier and more efficient, and, especially during the pandemic, they became quite a go-to for me, better stocked with things both unique and one-off, such as digital thermometers, as well as for those essentials that were occasionally harder to find, such as paper products. Pharmacist that I have dealt with is friendly and informative as well. Prices are competitive--a little all over the map. Not wildly so, just, some things feel like a bargain, some things feel spot on, and a few things, you may stop and say to yourself, hmm... maybe I should try somewhere else for this. But on the whole I'm grateful they are nearby in general, and especially for remaining so consistently--and with such ample stock--throughout the pandemic. I've been a loyal customer here for almost 20 years, and have no intention (yet) to take my business elsewhere. But I was very disappointed yesterday when I went to pick up a prescription and saw 2 of the pharmacists working behind the counter without masks on. This is a terrible look - especially inside of a store where it's not unlikely that you will encounter someone who is sick (whether from COVID-19 or some other infectious ailment). When he saw that i did it, he HARASSED me and YELLED AT ME saying why i wasn't purchasing the make up and if i wasn't going to buy anything, why was i walking into the store. Pharmacist put somebody else's pills in my prescription bottle. The label on the bottle was for the correct medication but what was inside was something else entirely that I am not prescribed. I didn't realize something was wrong for three days until I got dizzy and fell over. Turns out they gave me medication for insomnia, which I do not take. This is incredibly dangerous. In my entire life, I've never had a pharmacist give me the wrong medication in a bottle with the name of the drug I was supposed to get. When I went to the pharmacy to ask them what happened, the pharmacist merely told me it was a "mistake" and that he was sorry. I can't recommend this pharmacy anymore. read more

I was excited to patronize this small business for the first time instead of going to Walgreens down the block. An older man followed me around the store and kept trying to talk to me even though I had headphones in. At first he said I need to be careful of my backpack so I wouldn't knock over "expensive merchandise." Then he kept asking if I walk or work out or something to that effect and basically saying he approves of my body. "You are big but you have a very nice body" were his exact words. He completely creeped me out and scared me. I immediately put everything back on the shelf and left and went to Walgreens. I wish i would have yelled at him but i was too shocked. The store is superb but the pharmacy itself is a joke. They've given me prescriptions that were missing pills. They can't "find" my insurance to fill my daughter's RX even though they've successfully applied the same policy to me. THere is always a wait, even when it's seemingly not busy. I am moving my prescriptions exclusively to Capsule. I wish I could support a local business with a long history in the neighborhood, and I will some necessities, but not for any more prescriptions. They do have a great orthopedics section with items that helped me through my pregnancy and were Superior to anything I could find on Amazon. I was here last night picking up a few things. I remember that the 3rd Check in via Yelp App you get 10% off your purchase on regular items (non prescriptions). Knowing this I decided to go around and see what I needed. I normally come here and everything is smooth. The staff is awesome, but this time around it was totally different... Once I was at the register I showed the cashier that I have a coupon for 10% off. She literally FLIPPED out and started YELLING saying that I need something on paper. It's 2011. Who uses paper coupons? She starts ARGUING with me saying that we don't acknowledge it and calls a co-worker. She then starts to YELL and ARGUE at him as well. Forcing him to take my merchandise to the back and pay for it there. This cashier was one of the RUDEST people I've ever met. I know you guys are 24 hours and if your irritated cause your 600 CATS are hungry and you don't have a man to SATISFY you. Working the late shift isn't for you. When I asked why no one called to tell me the script was expired, I was yelled at and told he "didn't have time to deal with me." I explained that the script didn't say anything about an expiration, and he yelled at me that they don't specify the expiration - as if I was supposed to know this. I asked, "How was I supposed to know this?" He walked away and shouted that this "wasn't his problem." Oh, okay - I guess no one did any sensitivity training for you. Health care is a very touchy subject for so many people. You are literally fucking with peoples' lives when you pull shit like this, and proceed to lack any sympathy, solutions, or resources to assist your patient/customer. There was no possible way I would be able to get the script filled on Monday, the day before the procedure, because I had work. There is one employee that probably shouldn't be interacting with customers since she is very rude and has some sort mode swings in seconds, I will not be sending any medications to this pharmacy because of how she has treated not just me but other customers. As a medical provider, I've had a terrible experience with this pharmacy. It was not coming up on my e-scribing service so I called in to give a verbal order. The patient I called in about has a difficult last name. The Pharmacist was getting irate about being unable to receive the name properly so i started spelling it out like "A as in Apple." I stopped by several weeks ago with my 10yr son to purchase Purell. The man behind the counter informed me they only had 1oz bottles, which generally cost about $1.25 ea. Well, I'm this case I was charged $5/bottle. I was shocked by audacity to price gauge. When I questioned the reasonableness of such a price, I was told, "That's the price." Wow. This isn't about the $5. It's about the lack of ethical business practices, especially during times when people should be working together. This pharmacy has been aroundone for as long as I Can remember. It is nearby methodist hospital on park slope and my wife and I have always used it since it was open 24 hours and after an emergency room visit it was easy to fill a script for antibiotics or painkillers right away. I lesrn ed unfortunatelythat the pharmacy closes at midnight . I arrived after 130 am for a prisprection but the store was closed. Also when I went to get the address on Google it is listed as open 24 hours. This in formation needs to be updated. NOT HAPPY ! other than that open till midnight is better than most places and they are usually polite and courteous. Also they stock almost anything I had to get. So they are not the worst. Horrible experience. My mom needed an ankle brace. After giving us the runaround for a few weeks, they finally delivered it to the home. Nice. But the size was off so I brought it in to exchange it. "Lisa" says that they never delivered it and it's not their brace. Of course it was - and I had a voicemail and number to prove it. Lisa was very rude and demonstrated a nasty attitude the entire time - like i'm trying to hustle her out of a $10 brace. Come on. I'll never use them again. read more
