Really good food but then last weekend we ordered beef tikka, and we got instead Lamb tikka I can't eat lamb So I called him and they said there's an error and the guy goes no problem. Saw them on the food Chanel and decided to give them a try. The place had only two people on a Friday night at 5 30. Thought that was strange. The young server was very patient and polite about answering our many questions. I didn't recognize the names of the dishes although I eat a lot of Indian food. He was helpful. Tandoori and korma and saag were familiar. One of us opted for the familiar chicken biryani. Super generous portion but the rice had a vinegary finish to it. Not used to that. The medium spice was indeed spicy. I opted for the non vegetarian thali. Had chicken agri, basmati, dal, yogurt and super vinegary pickled onions. I don't know if I should call them pickled--pure vinegar on onions. They need to fix that or leave them off the plate. I liked the dal, chicken, yogurt and rice. The other person had two appetizers samosas which she loved and tika masala fries. Not very authentic but she liked them. I heard about Curry Corner on local radio when someone called it "sensational," which set a pretty high bar--and it absolutely delivered. We started with the Aloo Tikka: solid, but probably not a repeat order for us. The real stars were the chicken and shrimp curry, chicken tikka masala, the sizzler sampler, and the garlic naan. Now I get the hype. Hands down, this is the best curry and tikka masala we've ever had. The meat was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care. Service was a bit on the slower side, but we weren't in a rush, so it didn't detract from the experience at all. My boyfriend and I had dinner at Curry Corner in Tempe and it was fabulous. I was craving something different and hadn't been here in a while and had to show him their fries. If you go you HAVE to get the fries. They're seasoned to perfection and just SO good. They are the perfect sharing size too. I tried the chicken rajashtani and it was so creamy and tasty. I loved the chicken chunks and we both upgraded to garlic naan which was worth it. I brought half of mine home as leftovers for dinner the next day. Our server said it was their first day but was still super friendly. It was pretty packed inside but our dinner didn't take long at all. I think it's a perfect casual dining spot. read more

Was visiting AZ this past week and I happened to just be scrolling through yelp and came across this spot honestly glad I did I was about 30 minutes away from it and decided what the heck let me drive out there let me tell you it was definitely worth the drive the dishes I ordered had great flavor the spice was just right. If I do come back to AZ again and this place is near by I'll definitely be stopping by! One thing I will say the girl up front needs some help when they are busy she's just running from table to table trying to provide fast service and take orders from people waiting to place to go orders but I will say from my experience I had fast and friendly service! read more

I have been meaning to try this place for awhile now and saw a post by someone regarding their new location that opened in East Mesa. I was immediately greeted by a nice gentleman that was doubling as host & server. I placed my order for takeout, Biriyani w/lamb and asked for it to be spicy. They definitely serve good size servings which included a small side of salad with a tasty, tangy dressing. Everything was seasoned well, but just a warning the lamb they use (i believe a chop), is served with meat on the bone, so be careful with bone fragments in the biriyani. This is the BEST Indian food in the valley. It's in a small building in Tempe, but the flavors and authenticity of the food is unbeatable. I have eaten here dozens of times since I went to ASU 6 years ago. I live in Queen Creek and still drive the 45 minutes to Tempe just to get the food here. This is a must try when in Tempe. I think the food here is superb. I recently had the Punjabi Handi with beef, rice and garlic cheese naan bread. I could literally cut the beef with my spoon it was so tender and the garlic cheese naan bread was like a cloud. Puffy with just a slight chewiness and a deliciously light flavor. Dragging it through the complex flavor of the curry sauce to scoop it up was a true delight! I recently also had the lamb version as well and it's also delicious. I love the freshness of the hot peppers in the curry. I order it medium spicy and it's pretty much accurate. The service was fine and everything was clean. It's been a while since I ate at Curry Corner in Tempe. I decided the other day to give it another try. I was very impressed when I opened the door and saw the place had a complete renovation. New booths, tables , chairs , floor and paint , very well done . I ordered my usual, hummus, tandoori wings and goat karahi . Everything was as tasty as I remembered . I've been coming to Curry Corner for a long time, which honestly makes writing this disappointing. The food used to be one of my favorites in the area, but over the past few months the quality has really gone downhill. Dishes that were once flavorful and fresh now taste bland, oily, or like they've been sitting too long. It feels inconsistent, and lately more "miss" than "hit." Another thing that's started to bother me is the atmosphere. On several visits, I've heard loud, harsh yelling coming from the kitchen that sounded like a manager or owner speaking very aggressively to staff. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at all. When we arrived, there was only one server working the floor. I understand the restaurant is small, but the service was extremely slow and disorganized. It took about 15 minutes just to receive our drinks, and the food took even longer. What was most frustrating was watching multiple tables that arrived before and after us get their drinks and full meals while we continued waiting with no communication. When we first walked in, there was only one other table, but as it got busier, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server rushed past our table multiple times without giving us any updates. When I finally stopped her to ask how much longer the food would be, there was still no clear answer. After waiting far too long, we ended up leaving, paying for our drinks, and going somewhere else to eat. Very disappointing experience, especially due to the lack of communication and attention. The atmosphere was very simple, quite, and empty to a point. We saw a lot of people come in for take out, but few dining in. The service was slow, very slow. It took some time to order, but once we did the food took a very long time to come out to the table. My personal feeling was to go orders were being filled prior to the tables. The Chicken Makhani was good and I enjoyed the meal though it is not something I would order again. The other dish we got was Chicken Rajisthani and it really packed a punch. The service was good and the food arrived fast. Once we finished our lunch, this place was getting pack with dine-in customers and takeout customers. All four curries that we got were so delicious and full of flavor. Chicken was juicy and tender. They made the simple dal lentil curry so specifically good. Karahi chicken curry was so memorable and I could not stop enjoying it. Paratha bread was my favorite. It is lightly fried but still soft and not too oily. Service was slow and ambience was a little basic but I have to say I was impressed by the food! I got the non-veg thali for $13 with garlic naan which I believe is an upcharge on top of that. Still a great value with a good amount of food. It comes with two chicken curries (I loved the Makhani!), daal, yogurt sauce, pickled onions and rice. The middle curry was tasty too but there were lots of bones in it. Still I enjoyed it. Many reviews talk about the flavorless and watery curries but I have to say my experience with the two curries I tried was positive!
