Been passing by Bombay House for a while and finally stopped in while waiting for my car to be serviced. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and given a comfy booth to hang out at. I asked if there was a menu available, but was told tha5 it was just the buffet, so I rolled with it. The buffet had a great mix of items and I really liked the fluffy rice, chicken masala, and salad! I like that I was able to try so much without commitment, although I felt bad throwing away the dishes that I did not like. I guess that is the negative that comes with a buffet, right? I haven't been to lot of Indian buffet but they are usually pretty good so I thought I give it a try. Lunch price of $15.95 which is pretty good. Walked inside and nice friendly staff greated me and sat me down. Lunch time and it was pretty busy. Soon as I sat down I was brought cold cup of ice water and basket of garlic Nan bread. Walked up to the buffet and saw that they had pretty good selections. Two different types of rice. Over all selections of dishes were very nice, good choices of protein and vegetarian. Few dishes that stood out was goat curry which had chopped up meat with bones. Picking meat off the bone was nice and tasty. Tandoori chicken actually surprised me. Even though it was drenched in sauce it had nice grilled taste still on the chicken. They also had mango lassi and Chai tea. Cup of mango lassi was very nice touch. Their selection was OK, don't know the names of them but it wasn't too bad. Not overly sweet but tasty. This place was probably the best Indian buffet I've been to. Hey so DO NOT EAT HERE ! It's not safe, went there and the hot plates for the buffet weren't working properly so some food was kept at unsafe temperatures, and going down the line of buffet options at the very end they have their chicken tandoori COVERED WITH FLIES! They put foil over the chicken but flies are constantly on the food and flying around the restaurant. I can only assume they have a maggot problem. Sticky fly traps hanging from the ceiling SUPER GROSS. Told management about the unsafe practices and they asked us to leave without paying for our meal. They didn't seem in a hurry to fix the issue AT ALL. Just concerned with getting us out of there ASAP so they can keep feeding the customers bad food without us making a big deal. They don't care about their customers health. ALSO I used to frequent India Oven which I never went back because a literal roach scattered across my table, found out the owner of India Oven sold to another company. We stopped in to Bombay House for lunch. They have a buffet with a lot of variety. There were at least six different vegetarian options plus a separate table with different breads and more vegetarian options. There was also chai and mango lassi on the buffet. Everything was delicious. My favorites were the chana masala served with a light crispy fry bread and the aloo gobi. Some things were on the spicy side which was a plus for me. A server brought hot garlic and butter naan and offered more throughout our meal. Our total for two was $34 and we were offered an additional discount for paying cash. Seemed like a great value given the quality and variety of the food. Bombay House will be a regular lunch spot for us. read more

I'm not a huge fan of buffets but I was willing to give it a try. The buffet had the usuals, two rice options, chicken tikka, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, goat curry, dhal makhani, paneer curry, aloo gobi and a few more dishes. They had pakoras and pani puri as well. For dessert they had kheer, mango custard, and gulab jamun. They also have mango lassi and tea. Everything we tried was good and we tried almost every thing. They served naans at our table. They were fresh and tasty. The only thing we hated was the water. It has a taste that we couldn't stand. Ambience was nice. Restaurant was relatively clean and service was good. It seemed pretty popular even on a week night. For 3 buffets and one soda, we paid $56 before tip. I was curious to try Bombay House after seeing it had taken over the old Chutney's space, and after one visit, I'm super impressed! The food is still incredibly flavorful (much more heavily spiced than other local Indian restaurants I've tried) and includes items like pani puri that other buffets don't serve. Even better: mango lassis are included again!! So many Indian buffets have taken away the option, but I'm thrilled to see it back on the lineup. Got a to-go order and got some garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, vegetable momos and baignan bharta. I ordered over the phone and was told that the order would be ready in 20 minutes. I got there in 20ish minutes but unfortunately the order wasn't ready yet but it was a short wait and I got to check out the dinner buffet which looked really appealing so we will have to check it out one of these days. The order was securely packaged and the entrees and rice were put in round clear plastic tubs while the naan was wrapped in foil. The chicken tikka masala was my favorite of the two dishes. It had just the right balance of tomato, cream, spices and the chicken was very tender. The baignan bharta was decent but I've had better renditions elsewhere. The naan and rice were great to eat the curries with. I requested both curries to be mild and they were both low on heat. Out of the two the baignan bharta was just a little spicier. The vegetable momos reminded me a lot of Asian style gyoza, but using Indian style spices. I got these for my daughter who really likes dumplings but unfortunately they were way too spicy for her. This is hands down the best Indian food I have had. The prices for the buffet or extremely fair and you get so manny options to choose from. I appreciate that the flavors have always stayed consistent and I've never been disappointed. The naan is the perfect texture and they are very generous with it when they bring it to your table. Five stars is simply not enough, really. This was a wonderful experience that began as soon as we opened the door. A restaurant must pass the "nose test" for us, meaning it must smell like food. Many don't, Bombay House lets you know right away that you have come to place to eat! Now they do have an actual menu but we did not bother with it on our first visit because they also serve a wonderful buffet, that is what drew us in. The lamb vindaloo was just spectacular and the lentals were the best I have ever experienced. There were so many delicious things to try they simply can't all be described here. But the capper to the entire afternoon was the restaurant itself and the staff. The place is gorgeous, well lit and very, very clean. (Many buffet resaurants suffer on all of these points.) And the staff were extremely freindly and helpful. There is a full bar for those that are so inclinded that even serves "Old Monk" rum from India! A nice touch. Do you enjoy Indian food? I was having coffee nearby when I noticed a sandwich board outside a door advertising a lunch and dinner buffet at an Indian restaurant called Bombay House. Walked in the door to take a look at the buffet and it looked great. I returned the next day for lunch with my husband. The food was delicious! Tandoori chicken, chicken tikki masala , lamb vindaloo,lots of vegetarian choices, white or yellow rice and mango lassis. The family owned restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and the service outstanding! The owner - Prinse was cordial and constantly checked on patrons. Nice to come in to see the changes from the previous establishment. The smells made me feel like I was in the right place. There was couples and families filling the tables, looking to be enjoying their meals. The service was friendly, has my to-go order ready when I was arrived at the specified time. It was nice to see a few additional specialties like the lamb and goat entrees. Spice level is not mild; it packs a slight kick but not overwhelming. The rose milk and Indian coffee were delightful. Went for the Grand Dinner Buffet, $20 a person. Well worth the money! Staff is friendly and kept the warm garlic naan coming. The naan is perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. All the dishes from the buffet were amazing, I will tell you about a few: Chicken Biryani was tender and flavorful, Paneer Butter Masala - wonderful the cheese flavor complimented the butter masala, Lamb Vindaloo - succulent and a nice heat to it. Wow! What a great discovery! Visiting my son in Tempe who is attending ASU for the week and we stumbled on this restaurant and so glad we did!! All you can eat which is such a low cost and you get to taste all the great Indian dishes which are cooked so well and full of flavor. They just opened in December and so glad I now have a place to go for great Indian food when I come visit. I was able to buy takeout for my son which is sold by the lb.
