Just be careful -- the heat builds up slowly, so if you're not used to spicy food, go lower on the scale! I was reading all the reviews trying to figure out where to try an indian buffet in Mesa, Arizona. I narrowed it down to 3 places and this one was the first place that I tried. They had a decent variety of choices and very similar to the other Indian buffets in the area. The mango desert was incredible! I had 3 bowls. It was so good. I told everyone at my table to try it and they all loved it too. We did the lunch buffet on Saturday. There was 8 in our group, so we tried to make it easy on the staff. We got there just as the doors opened. Obviously plenty of Indian music. I couldn't tell if it was much contemporary or not, but it was good. The restaurant filled out pretty quickly, with a lot of local regulars that conversed in the buffet line and remarked about how there wasn't as much in the trace as they would expect.I guess cause we had already had it through. The buffet was a bit limited. I hoped Butter Chicken would be there, but no. The choices were of a good variety, not as flavorful as I would like and not as spicy, which is what I would expect. Once we hit the buffet line service picked up for us to get us drinks and service, which was well managed. Parm was such a sweetheart! The buffet had shredded lettuce and when I let Parm know I don't love shredded lettuce. he brought me regular lettuce from the kitchen. I came Wednesday night and asked did they have buffet. Tempe is my home city and their food restaurants are amazing. Various ethnic groups in Tempe provide a foodies dream. Tempe housed my go to Indian buffet on Rural and university for over 20 years and it closed. The other night picking up a marketplace find I passed this restaurant. I live in central Phoenix and pulled up my favorite app on the way home Yelp popped the restaurant in the app great reviews. Long work day Wednesday so stopped for dinner mind blown. The owner, refused to accept that the chicken was pinkish in color. Instead of apologizing and offering to remake it or make it right somehow like other restaurants/ cuisines in the country, he said there was nothing he could do and said it would be nearly impossible since they "double" cook their meat. I'm sorry, but mistakes do happen. Not the service he provided or the chicken coming out the way it did was right. I have to say I never get photos of the food because it's gone in a flash. Everything I have had here is delightful- from the fresh garlic naan with bright green chutney to dip it in to their creamy, savory tikka masala, and their incredibly tender goat curry. The palak paneer looks like baby poop with its dull green color but when you realize it's spinach that has been cooked in spices for over 24 hours in a clay oven and you get that first burst of flavor in your mouth, the looks don't matter anymore. It is exquisite. I went here a couple weeks ago to have lunch with a friend and we were going to order two expensive entrées so we could both try something different. The owner said we would be better off from a price standpoint to get the buffet because both of our items were included on the buffet. I thought it was pretty amazing that he would volunteer that considering he would lose about 10 bucks per entrée on the cost of the buffet versus the cost of the meal itself. Everything was just as fresh and beautiful as if we had ordered a regular entrée. And we got to try 8 to 10 different items instead of just our entrée. I've been coming here for years and it is my go to Indian restaurant. A friend of mine who is actually from India took me there for lunch years ago, and I have never stopped going. Every time I try out a new restaurant, I check the Yelp ratings. India's Flame was top-rated and had a ton of reviews. I thought it was going to be a home run. The problem is the chicken. I ordered 2 types: garlic tikka kabob and chicken vindaloo. Both used white meat chicken breast. My first bite was great. My second bite was rubber and spit it out. My third bite was great. My fourth bite was rubber and spit it out. Was I really going to have to chew each piece of chicken before making the decision of whether to swallow? And if 1/2 of it is rubbery, am I even comfortable eating the normal pieces? When I say rubber, I'm talking about the texture. It felt like uncooked fatty chicken, but it was actually cooked. The issue is the chicken itself. The sauce was decently good, and the chana masala wasn't bad. I still can't see giving it more than 3 stars, given I couldn't fully enjoy my meal. The garlic nan was excellent, 8 out of 10. I would recommend reviewing your chicken vendor. read more
