This restaurant is around the corner from our place and had changed hands in the previous months. We never used to see anyone in the old place so decided to try the 'new management'.. We were very surprised we were the only ones dining but we were extremely well looked after and welcomed. This is a family run business and you can tell. The owners are very proud of the heritage and their cuisine. We let our server (Mrs Owner) choose our dishes and we loved every one of them. The restaurant is a large space which is tiled and glass, so could get noisy if the room was full of people but somehow I don't think that will be too much of an issue. This review is 2months after we are there so I can't remember exactly what we had, but it WAS good. We always support local family restaurants in Tempe. If you're looking good northern Indian cuisine, you can't go wrong. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was surprised to find they had a buffet. I was happily greeted by two people who explained their liquor license had expired, which was disappointing on a hot day, but no biggie. The sign was torn off of the exterior (rebranding I think) so I thought they were closed at first. Clean interior but nothing about the decor really catches your eye. Q: Why did the Chicken Tikka Masala cross the road? A: Because it was in a Curry! It has been a minute but I had seen the Instagram "hack" where someone said to try cheese pizza with butter chicken. When my friend rediscovered that video, we decided we had to try it. How can it go wrong? It's like dipping a more flavorful and greasy naan bread in some delicious Indian cuisine. We ordered butter chicken and tikka masala here and they were both flavorful. We had placed an order for pick-up and we arrived late so it wasn't super hot but that's on us. The flavor itself was decent and the portion size was okay. They really do give you a lot of protein here. Not bad, Nandini! Not bad! I ordered butter chicken and it was okay, but I think I would order something else next time. My friend got mutter paneer and that was good. The place was quiet and decorated nicely. We were the only customers at the time. The only bad thing about it is we felt that we needed to talk quietly and it felt awkward. But overall a decent experience. Overall the food was GREAT! I got the Mutter Paneer and my friend got Butter Chicken. Everything was delicious and the garlic Naan was thin but had great flavor. Our two servers seemed like they didn't want to talk to us too much, and when they did it seemed a bit forced. It was quiet when we went and it looks like they have a bar as well. I don't write many reviews but I had to tell someone about this place. It was so far beyond what I was expecting. I went for the lunch buffet and I can't praise it enough. The spicy mushroom was my favorite and the garlic naan was so light and had the perfect crisp to it. They treated me like family and showed me each dish and explained the new ones. Two Stars cause the dinner was ok. But the lunch, my god. First of all when they took over this place: it was Nandini before, they said that everything was gonna be the same. It was the same chef and they were just gonna change up a few things. They changed the whole buffet at lunch and failed to give out barely any chicken options there were only like two options out there. The food was so bland. It was beyond bland at lunch and at dinner it was barely any better. I'm very very disappointed in the experience. It was still pretty good right after they took over from Nandini, but its continued to go downhill from there, so safe to say, I won't be back unfortunately unless things change. Please save your wallets they will be crying having to pay for that food as soon as you step in the door. read more

Took a friend there for the lunch buffet. As Nandini, it was fantastic, but the new version was decidedly lacking in variety - about half the choices from before. The buffet was moved to the other side of the restaurant and the hot items were placed in separate pots with heavy lids, the lids must be pulled off the pots and hung in hangars. Not very convenient. The naan was very good, and the service was friendly. The note at the top of the page says that they are temporarily closed, hopefully this is to improve things. I will give it another try when they re-open and hope for the best. read more

I ordered from this place on Uber eats after comparing reviews to other Indian food places. My order was done quickly and arrived still hot. I ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic rice, and plain naan. The chicken tikka masala was salty and had no spice. The serving was TINY for the $16.99 price tag. The garlic rice was a bit oily but tasted good. The naan was good. Nothing special. I probably wouldn't order here again because chicken tikka masala is my favorite and one of the main things I order from Indian restaurants and it just wasn't good. read more

My wife and I went in last Sunday night for dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised how excellent everything was. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, Mater Paneer and Garlic Nan. We ordered everything mild to establish a baseline. The spicing on all was fantastic. I can't remember having more flavorful dishes. For me, (Arizona native) would like it hotter next time, even my wife (Detroit native) said "next time 'medium'. The chicken in the Chicken Tikka and Vindaloo were large, tender white meat of chicken, Yum. The cheese in the Mater paneer were nice large chunks in a delightful sauce, almost a meal in itself. The portions, by the way were very generous. Service was perfect too. The owners and management are new and have reworked the interior very nicely. So after waiting for some time, we went to Nandini for their buffet at 11 am. To start on a positive note, The food was decent with the right amount of spice levels, neither too spicy nor bland. Naan was freshly made and very soft. They have quite an array of dishes. But I wish they had placed veg and non veg separately. Now coming to the main issue... please look at their cleanliness standards. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. The place screams for some cleanliness; the whole dining area had a weird smell, the cutleries were stained, the floor was not clean, the tea thermal needed a thorough wash, and the restroom sinks too were not properly maintained. Clearly, the hygiene quotient was totally off for this place. And I believe what you see is extended into the kitchen as well. Went for buffet, the food, service overall experience was good. One of the most important thing after eating curries is the fear of feeling bloated, here we didn't had to face that. Like any other buffet they had the spread but could have been better. I truly appreciate the less oil on all the items. I'm completely confused by the negative reviews of this place because my experience was so far from that. Indian cuisine can be difficult to choose what to order if you aren't familiar with the dishes, I'm assuming some of the negative comes from that. We ordered through Grubhub on Friday night at 8:10 and picked up around 8:40. I hadn't dug very deep into the negative reviews until AFTER the order was placed, at which point I became concerned. Of course we had already made the order so we decided to not let those reviews cloud our judgment and we would form our own opinions once we had our food. Vegetable Samosas 8/10 Butter Chicken 8/10 Chicken Saag 10/10 Mutter Paneer 10/10 Garlic Naan 8/10 Ok I am embarrassed to say that when we opened up the bag.. we felt a bit disappointed by the size of each portion (compared to the total cost). DO NOT LET THIS SWAY YOU! Our entire order lasted for 6 meals between two people. Yes 6 meals and 3 days. Each dish came with a side of rice, for us that was THREE sides of rice (incredible). I had actually just made rice beforehand because I was not expecting to receive any.. pleasantly surprised by that. Hands down the Chicken Saag and Mutter Paneer were all stars of the night. I mean just insane flavor for both, we could not get over how amazing these dishes were. I venture to say THE BEST I have EVER tasted. Naan is thinner than we expected but still delicious, might not go a long way for some. Samosas a little smaller than we are used to but come with killer tamarind and coriander chutney that is just completely delicious. So so SO satisfied with this purchase. At this point, we are already planning our next visit where Mutter Paneer and Chicken Saag will 100% be in of our order. Butter chicken was good but the other two were better so our verdict is next time to skip it. This place is fire. Like straight fire. I can't speak on the cleanliness of the restaurant (where others complained) but I'll tell you what.. some of the best food I have ever tasted has come from hole in the wall kitchens and we are not scared of it for a second.
