I go to this Currito at least once a week and both the food and service is impeccable. One of the reasons I enjoy Currito so much is because the variety of toppings that are offered. A chicken burrito is my go-to, which I favor over the Chipotle burrito because they heat press it at the end which prevents the burrito from falling apart while eating it. This is indeed like Chipotle, but with more variety and options. The food is fresh, and fast. I like that you can get traditional burrito stuff, but you can also try other options like the Tikka. I have only been to Currito - any Currito - once, specifically this particular location that just opened in the same strip center occupied by Romeo's Pizza and Penn Station. Very clean and sharp looking on the inside, with a lot more seating space than I expected; and before I even ordered, I was nearly certain I'd come to like the place a lot, for 2 reasons: 1) They have not only a full size burrito (like Chipotle) but also a smaller, less expensive version. I have been asking for a smaller option for years at Chipotle, but I am starting to get the feeling that they just aren't listening to me :-) 2) Chicken Tikka Masala as a filling/protein option. Nuff said. Love that stuff. Now I must say I didn't enjoy their tikka masala as much as I do at any local Indian restaurant, but I would have been very surprised if I had. It was still solidly good and I appreciated that it was available at this price point. Used to be great, but they changed their portion sizes. They used to serve a bowl in the same bowl as a salad bowl. Now, it is in a much smaller bowl where the portion sizes are roughly 50% less. The price? Exact same. Hmmm... I guess I am taking my business back to Chipotle read more

Currito is the perfect spot when you and your friends just can't decide where to go. The concept is "burritos from around the world" (or bowls or salad). My go-to is the Bangkok burrito (does have a kick), but I'm also a big fan of the Tikka. One big perk of Currito is that you can get a small burrito, and their burritos are toasted at the end. I LOVE the toasty tortilla with slightly melty ingredients, so I typically opt for this over a bowl. However, the bowl is packed to the brim and typically lasts a couple meals. Only downside of Currito is the price. The bowls and large burritos are about the same price of Chipotle's, but about $1 more. The small burrito costs about the same as Chipotle, but is maybe 75% the size. I also don't feel the same freedom to ask the staff to add a little more of any ingredients, like I do at Chipotle. All of that said- I will continue to visit Currito for the unique concept, fresh ingredients, and local Cincinnati roots, despite the extra $1. read more

I love Currito. Grew to love Currito during my time at Xavier. They were a little more reasonably priced back then. I'd have to say the best 2 locations are Hyde Park and Xavier locations. Unfortunately, XU location has weird summer hours. I unusually just go to the Hyde Park one to avoid confusion. I order a create your own bowl that I make like the Tikka with some additions. Currito increased their prices within the last year or so, which is why they don't get 5 stars from me. Some of the increases don't make any sense. For example, they increased smoothie prices while eliminating the large smoothie option. The price is ridiculous for what you get, so I never order smoothies, or drinks at all for that matter. Also, be aware that the price you see is just the base price and does not include meat/protein or guac. Even with the pricing issues, to me, Currito still remains a great, affordable, pretty healthy carry out option. read more

Currito is like Chipotle's cooler younger brother. I'm SOOO pumped that there's now a location near me that's NOT on a college campus. It has all of the offerings of Chipotle if you're really craving that sort of thing, but do yourself a favor and do not allow your experience with Chipotle close your mind to the endless possibilities that Currito's offers you. They have all the traditional Mexican flavors but they also have some pretty amazing Asian flavors. They have a create your own option (which includes quinoa...for all you trend-seekers) but they also have these amazing creations that are no doubt the creative brain child of some Currito-employed genius. My favorite is the Bangkok Bowl (I like mine with chicken but you can choose your own protein and you can also choose to have it in a tortilla). It is a delicious combination of rice and chicken with a tasty Thai peanut sauce, fresh bok choy, cucumber, crunchy carrot and almond slivers, and topped off with an Asian dressing that just perfectly completes the concoction. Tip--go to curritos.com and sign up for the rewards...if you have an iPhone you can add it to the wallet on your phone and pre-load money similar to Starbucks...it's SUPER easy and I got an immediate $10 reward for preloading $10 onto it. read more

I guess the first thing that soured my opinion of the place was the waitstaff at the front. We had never been here so I was a little thrown off by it not being an order as you go then pay type of place like Chipotle. She was visibly annoyed i didn't know exactly what myself and my husband (who I have to translate for) wanted. The food wasn't that great, and the service was even worse. It made me feel rushed and didn't give me much of a chance to look at the menu. Also, with absolutely no line, I don't see what the issue was with being patient with us. If you have never been to Currito, it's like a chipotle with more variety. They have more sauces (like a Thai sauce), veggies, and even salsas. They offer a smaller serving size and a regular size. Found this place downtown and thrilled they are now in Hyde Park! Unlike Chipotle where no matter what you order it all tastes the same these "burritos" all taste amazing and very different from each other. Bangkok with Pulled Pork and Mediterranian with Steak are game changers. Today was my first time experiencing Currito, and it was a great experience at that! Upon my arrival, I let the cashier know that it was my first time at their store, and she took the time to explain the menu, their options, and variety of smoothies to me. I chose the Teriyaki burrito and the small Soy Smoothie, a combo for under $10. The burrito was made fresh as was the smoothie and I enjoyed them both. This was my first time at Currito! The staff here (and manager) were super helpful and when I said it was my first visit they showed me all the available options. They offer unique burrito options so there is a fresh taste every day of the week. The food was great. I got the Tikka regular burrito. It was a fresh take on the lunch burrito genre. Yesterday, I came into Currito to see that they were slammed and only had 2 people working (1 on the register, 1 building the burritos/bowls). There was a gentleman in line throwing a fit about how long it was taking, so I told the girl at the register (I believe her name is Toy) to go ahead and make his burrito for him (seeing as I was in no rush and Currito is ALWAYS worth the wait). She thanked me graciously and carried on to clear up the line. She offered the gentleman multiple things to help calm him down, but nothing was helping (can't make everyone happy). Toy offered me my lunch for free because of MY wait and she also threw in a complimentary smoothie (which was delicious). Shiane was who made my salad and she was super kind and helpful, as I am a picky eater. I definitely will be back and appreciated all their kindness and the smiles on their faces! I went into the Currito in Hyde park today around 2:30 with my 2 week old son I ordered my food and then I had to change my sons diaper and feed him before I got the chance to eat, this took about 45 minutes. I knew my food was getting cold but I couldn't do anything about it until I finished feeding my baby. Towards the end of his bottle the two female workers in black shirts (blonde and Brown hair) without asking remade my bowl and brought it out to me after they noticed I hadn't touched my food yet. Words can't even describe how happy I was that without saying anything they knew what I was thinking. It was such a great act of kindness and awesome customer service. The Hyde park location is my favorite because they seem to truly care about their customers and make the extra effort to make sure everyone leaves satisfied. Way to go Currito! read more

More food options and better quality of ingredients than Chipotle (check out the mango salsa and the kale).
