I want to preface this by saying I have been a die hard E+O fan forever, but this experience today rubbed me the wrong way. We were sitting at dinner finishing our drinks when our waiter came over and told us we would need to get up because they needed our table since it was UC's graduation. I have never had that happen at any restaurant I've ever been at before. I get that it's a busy time, but we made reservations. If there's a time-limit, that needs to be communicated upfront to a paying customer -- not when you're mid-visit. It felt rushed and inconsiderate. Went to E+O for bday celebration with some of my girlfriends- everyone loved their food and the service was great! We had a reservation and were running late but luckily it wasn't so busy that we felt like we were holding up the team. Everyone was super nice to us the whole time and our waitress was truly the best! I was on the hunt for some food and stumbled on this place. I took a look at the menu and the Happy Hour options sold me. I believe the deal is from 3-6pm. I happened to come around 4 and it wasn't busy at all. Parking was easy to find. The cocktails were half off so I opted for the lychee margarita. Whew! It was so damn good. A great balance of the lychee juice, lime juice and tequila. Im still trying to find a place in Atlanta that can make this. For food, I got the crispy Buddha rice and gyoza which are potstickers. I got them steamed which were okay but I bet if I got them pan fried, it would've been much better. I also got the crispy rice app which was basically a rice cake with the tuna on top. To me, it resembled a hash brown and the tuna doesn't really stick out like tuna tartare or like a ahi tuna dish. So it comes on top of the rice cake like a log. But I enjoyed it. The waitress was very attentive. Gave me some good recommendations. I'd love to come back and get the lobster rice bowl and try the sticky ribs which is what drew me in. I ordered the salmon Buddha bowl and the rice might have been a bit undercooked. I didn't so much like the salmon sashimi with the olive oil and lemon, but I had never tried sashimi this way before. Would ask to have it without the dressing next time around. The chicken Katsu was the best thing we tried and I was pretty jealous I hadn't ordered that myself. Before I get to everything else, if you come here, you HAVE to get the Crispy Brussel Sprout salad. It was far and away the best brussel sprout salad I have ever had. It's large enough that it could be an entree on its own, but my wife and I split it as an app. The space is cute and modern and quite large (goes a ways back). The music has a modern vibe and everything was quite comfortable. Our server was excellent and had some great recommendations. As I mentioned, we split the Crispy Brussel Sprout salad with shrimp for an app as well as the Tuna Poke Tower. The tuna poke was delicious and came with crispy and tasty wontons to eat it with. We got the Dragon's Breath and Rainbow Rolls for our main course. These were good as well, but truthfully the apps really stood out! This place has an A+ review for its ambiance. The restaurant was open and airy, with outdoor seating and a boat-house vibe. Our waitress was very kind when she got the chance to check in with us, and helped point out everything vegetarian on the menu. Gluten free labels are printed but not vegan or vegetarian, but there are plenty of options. However, while the restaurant had plenty of open tables and did not appear busy, the service was extremely slow. We waited 15 minutes to even get an appetizer order in and our drinks came nearly half an hour after we ordered them. I got the purple rain roll which was good - not the best, but eating it in this vacation-style restaurant made it worth it. The chips and guacamole were not worth the $10 in my opinion, but came out in a quaint plate. For my main meal, two of us split two sushi rolls and fried rice which was so much food. The chicken fried rice comes with carrots, egg, scallion, sambal, edamame, crispy shallots. It was very good. We got the lemon drop sushi roll, with salmon, tempura shrimp, cucumber, tempura crunchies, lemon soy sauce, zest. Also the dragons breathe one with shrimp tempura, avocado, snow crab, spicy tuna, crispy shallots, spicy sesame. All great options. The restaurant is super cute and has greenery everywhere. However this time they had a DJ blaring music and screaming at passersby on the street about drinks for sale. I'm all for fun and loud music, but this was SO loud that my kids were covering their ears, and the youngest one started crying, and obviously we couldn't even hold a conversation, and we literally had to scream to put our orders in. It was at a level that young children would need protective ear coverings. For real. Not an exaggeration. We could feel the base pumping in our chests. We asked if they could turn the music down. They said they would but the DJ didn't comply. We asked again and we got both ice grilled and laughed at by the DJ. A table with young kids who were crying. E and O is cancelled for us.
