Great Bingsu place that's clean and lots of seating. The shaved ice was finely shaved and soft, and lots of mango toppings. Service took some time but I think it's because it takes a while to made the dessert. I got a small and it was more than enough to feed two people, I would recommend sharing a small bingsu between three. Would revisit to try their other flavours!
Small cafe, good service Restaurant is cozy and comfortable Red bean shaved ice with condensed milk almond slice and shredded peanuts Great to have on a hot summer day
Cute bingsu cafe in an area with pretty fierce food competition. I've been here for takeout before (lattes) but I was happy to finally get a chance to dine in and try their bingsu. We got the injeolmi (soybean powder) bingsu which was layered in with mochi and condensed milk (I think). We tried this flavor of bingsu at another place and this one was by far the best one we've had so far. Also, the bingsu being served in a chilled metal bowl was a nice touch and ensured we could enjoy our dessert at our own pace. I found the tiramisu to be OK, but my friend thought it was good. The other pleasant surprise was the Black Sesame Einspanner. I had to google what it was (coffee with a thick cream on top to keep in the heat) and it was way more satisfying than I expected. The richness of the black sesame blended with the thick cream very nicely, and made for a coffee I would gladly get again. Overall, wonderful experience, and I definitely plan to return.
We shared the red bean bingsoo which had injeomi and rice cakes in it. It was delicious. I believe it was $14 for the large portion which was a fair size compared to other competitors. There are many seats but they do get quite busy. However, the turnover in seats is high as well.
Summer is here! Time for some bingsuuuu. Have not been to this location in a while but quality and service is still great. We ordered and paid at the counter and waited at a table for our order to be called for pickup. We ordered a large injeolmi (yellow soybean flavour) shaved ice. It has mochi and condensed milk sprinkled throughout and on the top. We were able to ask for extra condensed milk (got it in a mini cup on the side). The ice is soft and fluffy as usual and the injeolmi powder complements it well. I always mean to try a new flavour but just can not go wrong with the injeolmi!! **There is a self serve water station near the counter as well.
Great tasting bingsu! They have sooo many different options it's so difficult to choose something! I was torn between the black sesame and blueberry bingsu. I got the black seasame and it was delicious! The ice w condensed milk(?) was so sweet and delicious and I loved the little mochi pieces and red bean! The cup version is def enough for one person! I also saw some friends sharing the small and large bowls. I like how each bowl is a piece of art! Besides bingsu, they also have toast, Croffle (croissant waffles), teas and lattes!
We came here for Bingsu, but the real star of the show ended up being the Injeolmi Croffle. It was my first time trying a croffle, and boy was it delicious! It was so warm, flaky on the outside, and chewy (like mochi) on the inside. Was more like a croissant mochi rather than a croissant waffle in my opinion, but now we're just getting particular about the semantics. The dessert was also a very generous size for sharing. Loved the injeolmi powder and ice cream to juxtapose the warm dessert - mmm! Now, the coffee bingsu was also good -- the shaved ice was interesting because the texture was icy-dry in a still pleasant way, but it lacked the smooth milky flavour I was expecting (think Sulbing bingsus, iykyk). Still, the coffee flavour was prominent, the toppings were yummy and generous, and the size of the bingsu was perfect for sharing. I love that they have 3 different sizes for their bingsus so they are not obnoxiously big and expensive - perfect for sharing and trying more desserts! I'll definitely be back to try their other bingsu and croffle flavors!! Overall, I'd recommend coming here with a small group as they have a decent amount of indoor seating! Prices are very reasonable. Service is also very prompt and friendly.
We came here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The wait time was around 20 minutes when we got there which is actually pretty fast. By the time we left, it was around the 50 minutes mark. We were also able to grab a table. The cashier wasn't very friendly and she also messed up our order. Instead of the green grape flavour that we ordered, she gave us green tea. However, we didn't want to waste the already melting bingsu, so we kept it. The bingsu itself was delicious. The portion is very generous and I was shocked at how large the regular size was. They're able to get their ice very fine so that it melts in your mouth easily. It's also a great light alternative to ice cream. Parking can be a bit hectic since the lot is busy with the supermarket in the area as well as the other stores. However, we were able to park a little further away with no issues.
First time at Cups on Valentine's Day, and it was delicious. I tried the tiramisu croffle and small black sesame bingsu. The croffle wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped for, but it was still good. According to the gentleman taking orders, injeolmi is the best one, I'll have to try that next time. The black sesame bingsu was good, but it was difficult to eat it in a cup, but that's their namesake. I'll have to order a larger size next time. The place is nice and has a few tables that fill up quickly in the evening. Their service was a little slow, but they were nice. It was just two people managing the place, so we waited patiently.
Disappointed - come all the way to try their bingsu and ensure comes in their metal cup for picture purposes. She still serves using the plastic cup as is for to go. Doesn't even offer to correct. Very disappointed - especially considering the price of shave ice. Give it 2 star for at least the taste making up for it
I usually go for the injeolmi (soybean powder) bingsu... this time, went for the mango and the brown sugar tapioca bingsu. For the mango lovers, I think you would enjoy this because they have chunks of cheese bites (similar to cheesecake) layered in there with the mango/syrup. The Brown sugar was a bit sweet for me, but still good. I've tried a few bingsu places around the GTA and what I love about this place is the fact that they do proper layering of the snow ice, then filling ,then snow ice, then another layer of the filling you ordered. So every single bite is consistent. I've been to places where they put all the filling at the top of the bingsu and as you eat your way down the "mountain" of snow ice, you get to the slushy water and it does not taste the same as the first few bites. Again, this would be my go to bingsu place for my dessert cravings.
Cups is known for their delicious bingsu (shaved ice). I've gotta say that this place has probably become one of my fave bingsu spots in Toronto. I got their Oreo Shaved Ice and tried the Injeolmi and Cheese too. The owner was so welcoming and gave us tips about how to enjoy the shaved ice. The Breakdown: Oreo | $12 (large) | 8/10 - topped with oreo ice-cream and cookies - cubes of cheesecake, oreo pieces and ice shavings - oreo cookies but it fell to side before I could capture its beauty (merp!) Injeolmi | $12 (large) | 8.5/10 - Injeolmi is rice cake made with sweet rice - interesting flavour! This was my first time trying Injeolmi Cheese | $13 (large)| 9/10 - my favourite out of all of them - cheese flavoured bingsu - vanilla ice-cream in the middle Follow @debeats_ for more local Korean restaurants
The temperature is a scorching 35 degrees today. The AC of my car is not working and we needed to cool down. What is a better way to cooldown than with a large Korean shaved ice. I ordered a large injelomi (Korean rice cakes) I had it multiple times before it was always my number one choice. You have a lovely chewy texture from the rice cake and sweetness from the condensed milk. Tied together with the fluffy snowlike shaved ice, it was perfect. They also have patio seating at the time so it was very shaded for us.

The small bowl is very large portion that I don't think a girl can consume it all. But they all taste great. Just a bit sweet over my expectation. read more

Great place for dessert. I usually do not post reviews on dessert places, but I have to admit it, even for me it was a great place to really just snack on with a nice chai latte to go with the mango shaved ice. Did not take a picture of the latte, but trust it is pretty good. The small was good enough for two people unless you are really that hungry and then you can get the large. Quite a gem as many people stated and I definetly concur with all of them. Give this place a try and you will not be dissapointed. read more

I checked this place out after hearing about it from multiple friends and it definitely lived up to the hype. I got the injeolmi bingsu cup while my friend got the coffee one. An issue I've always had in the past with other shaved ice places is that the topping to shaved ice ratio was always off. There would always be too much unflavoured shaved left over. I didn't have that issue at Cups because they layered the toppings and there was an abundance of mochi throughout the cup of shaved ice. I'll definitely be back to check out the other flavours! read more

Overall - 3.5/5.0 This place has a couple other locations with this one being the newest one. Their space is small with minimal seating. Tried the Matcha Red Bean Bingsu and it was decent. The shaved ice texture was great but the milky flavour was a bit lacking. The toppings were quite well prepared and fresh especially the red bean. They also serve up other items such as sandwiches and drinks. May come back to try their kalbi hot dog and other items if I'm in the area. read more
Great place to go for dessert! This is my first time trying Korean shaved ice (bingsu). It was delicious! The texture is very different from hawaiian shave ice. The ice is more like snow which I enjoyed very much. I got the small mango shave ice which is big enough to share between two people. It wasn't overly sweet which was great. The people that work there are very friendly. Only gripe is that the prices are a tad high. It's located in a plaza with many restaurants so a great place to stop by after a meal. read more
Very generous portions - even the small is considered a shareable. On the pricier side ($9 for a small) but you get what you pay. We were crazy enough to come in for some shaved ice when it was 5 degrees out but Cups is so good that we just had to come in! I had the matcha shaved ice and it was delicious! A must go after having some KBBQ! read more

Korean shaved ice on a cold windy day? No problem. It was a small little shop but spacious enough. We were lucky to grab a table as it started to fill up on a random Thursday night. All their shaved ice looked so good but can't go wrong with mango right? It was definitely larger than expected and you could probably share one between two people. Maybe the mangoes weren't in season, so they were on the little sour side. But I did enjoy the taste and mix of the flavours and texture. Also tried their sweet potato latte. Now that is something you don't hear very often. It was more out of curiosity than a desire. Flavour wasn't bad. Overall, definitely would go again. Just hope I'm lucky enough to get a table without waiting. read more

I ordered the small bowls of both mango and tiramisu flavor bingsu plus a regular taro latte. Then I w a i ted for at least half an hour. I will not come back for the slowness. I've been to Soul Café, it's way much busier than here, but it's still quicker. General speaking, it seems the bingsu machine itself is slow and all have to wait for at lease 15 minutes minimal to get your order but this place just has unacceptable long waiting time. For the latte, it tastes just like hot taro bubble tea. I don't understand why they use frozen mango chunks in the mango bingsu. They don't taste good and have not been fully thawed. For the tiramisu one, the cake tastes good, but I didn't get the espresso shot to pour on the top like in other review's picture. I guess you need to pay for the extra espresso? The ambience is the reason why I give 3 stars. Nice sitting and decor. Easy parking. read more
I love bingsu so I was delighted to have this place as a dessert stop right next to Piggy's! It's really busy but we managed to snag a table, and they're pretty fast! Portions are big! A large coffee bingsu was ample dessert for 4 of us to share. While the toppings were delicious, I found the quality of the shaved ice itself a little poor -- somewhat dryer than other places I've been to, and once you dig a little deeper, if you don't mix things up already it can get quite flavourless -- as opposed to other places where they layer toppings or add sauce to the sides/bottom. read more
THE SHAVED ICE IS SO GOOD HERE! I ordered the black sesame shaved ice in the cup size ($7.50) to go. Service was fast and friendly. I was in and out within 10 minutes. There is no table service here. You order at the counter, seat yourself, and wait for your order to be called. The place itself is pretty small. I think it probably seats around 20? Just know that it may be hard to find seating during peak times and if you come in a large group. I will be back for sure to try the other flavors! read more

Small and quaint cafe with minimum seating, but is definitely a popular establishment. Having ordered the mango bingsu, I was disappointed to find frozen mango as a topping, opposed to fresh mango. The mountain of shaved ice was covered in various toppings, from cream cheese to mango syrup and whipped cream, which were all good. However, it was essentially 65% ice and 35% topping which was slightly disappointing, as the price is not super competitive. Alright choice for shaved ice, but the menu did seem to feature a variety of other dessert options! read more

I've heard of Cups from friends who have visited. I love bingsu even in the winter, it is so tasty and light. This location is quite small. When I came in, there were no tables available. But it doesn't seem like people hang around here much and customers seem to leave shortly after finishing their dessert. The location is great because it is beside some Korean restaurants. It's great to have some refreshing bingsu after some heavy BBQ food. I originally wanted to get the classic injeolmi but then I spotted tiramisu. I have never seen a tiramisu bingsu while I was in Korea so I was tempted to try it. Plus, there was a tiramisu cake on the bingsu for that type. How can I say no to getting cake and bingsu together? The tiramisu bingsu looked appealing. It was very tasty and I like how they layer it enough so that there is flavor as you go into the bowl. One thing I didn't like about the tiramisu bingsu is that there is too much liquid in the shaved ice. Shaved ice melts quickly and the added milk in the bowl made it melt even faster. Other than that, I think it was delicious though. I will return to try other flavors! read more

indulged in their best seller injeolmi bingsoo (cup size), a finely shaved ice dessert with korean glutinous rice cakes & flour, mochi, and sliced almonds all on top; know there can be long waits sometimes read more
Been here a couple of times within a week so you can totally tell I am ADDICTED to Cups!! The have a lot of different flavours but injeolmi is my go to flavour. Their shaved ice is very fine with makes them very fluffy. The shaved ice is mixed equally with condensed milk, mochi, and other various toppings to give their dishes a perfect balance of flavours. Every time I dropped by there are a lot of customers so I'm not the only one that is enjoying their creations. The restaurant itself it quite small so finding a seat during the night and weekends will be quite hard for a large group. P.s I really think they added crack in there or something because I am constantly thinking about when I should go back next. read more

Nice place for some Korean shaved ice dessert. Seats are first come first serve. The place isnt too big. If you have a large group, like 4+ people, it may be tough getting a seat when it's busy. Having said that, it'a much bigger than the one in north York. Ordered injeolmi, black sesame, and blueberry shaved ice. Injeolmi was my favorite out of the three. It's your standard Korean shaved ice flavor. Can't go wrong with it. Black sesame was also good. Blueberry was ok. It's topped with frozen blueqberries and cheesecake bits. There are plenty other flavors on the menu to choose from so you'll certainly find something worth trying. Word of recommendation. People standing around are eyeing your table when it's busy. So don't make eye contacts with them if you want to sit and chill just a bit longer. read more

Korean dessert restaurant. Small size. Only 8-10 tables. Only 2workers so a bit slow. Their main menu is shaved ice(Bingsu). Tried matcha and tiramisu and both are good but I prefer tiramisu. Small is good enough for 2people. There is "Cup" size for take out. read more
I went to this place with my wife and baby on a friday night, and it was packed with good reason. even though i admit my baby with a stroller and all took up more space in this tiny cafe place. the staff was very nice about it and accommodating. We had ordered a tiramisu shaved ice which is for toronto pretty unique. There is a lot of shaved ice places in toronto now, and even moreso in the yonge/finch area which is pretty close by. however this place stands out. i know its a chain store, but they have pretty good quality and price for what you get. the tiramisu cake is home-made which is pretty good, the creme and coffee flavour was great. and you even get a shot of expresso that come with the shaved ice in case you didn't get enough coffee filling. the condensed milke spread throughout the ice in multiple layers is what makes this place really good. most shaved ice places don't do multiple layers of condensed milk and go a little lazy and just dump it on top. this place they take the time to do it layer by layer, which is great. and they also do the same for their take out which i tried before. Overall i would highly recommend desert and shaved ice lovers to come here. the price is not bad and the quality of the shaved ice is excellent. great place for a date night as well read more

I had tried shaved ice on my trip to Korea and wanted to try it again in Toronto on a hot summer day. Cups had good reviews so I checked it out. I got the mango flavour in the cup, which is equivalent to a venti size at Starbucks. The mango:ice ratio was perfect! It was sweet throughout and still carried the mango flavour to the bottom of the cup. I can't give it 5 star because the service was a little slow and the cleanliness could have been improved (it wasn't dirty but the kitchen could have used some tidying up). read more

Really enjoyed the "Injeolmi" shaved ice. They have many different flavours but this is one of their most popular. The ambience of this place is cute and casual. It is a self-served type where you have to order first and find your own seating. The place isn't really big either so if you're going on a weekend, I highly recommend to go earlier. Their shaved ice are available in three different sizes - cup, small, and large. I ordered a cup size as it is more personal but if you are going with a group of friends and would love to share then the other sizes are perfect. Shaved ice here is so different from other places, I have never had this style before. It is so fluffy and the perfect amount of sweet (at least for the injeolmi). I like how they layered their toppings so that you get the flavour throughout your entire cup. The "injeolmi" that I ordered came with almond, condensed milk, and mochi. The ingredients were really fresh! Can't wait to come back next time to try the other ones. read more

I'm still a fan of this place, but what happened tonight made me a little sad. I ordered a tiramisu cup ($7.99) and a matcha cup ($6.99) to go, then my brother and I sat down at the two person table closest to the counter and waited for our order. I saw what looked like our order, except that someone else went to the counter and the man at the counter gave it to that lady. I looked at the man at the counter slightly confused, because I thought that lady came in after us. Had she ordered the same thing, I should have received my order first. I thought the man at the counter made eye contact with me while this was going on as well, but he handed the two cups to the lady. She then walked away. About thirty seconds to a minute after, she returned to the counter with the order she had picked up, saying that she didn't think it was her order. At that, I turned around and said it was my order. The man then gave me the two cups the lady had walked away with. While I don't think she spat in my cup, for such a delicate product, I'm not sure how I feel about the order being returned and then given to me as if it were fresh. I mean, I would feel bad if they made me a new one, but I also don't think it was quite right for them to just give me returns when I wasn't the one who made a mistake. Also, now I've tried their tiramisu, matcha, and injeolmi flavors. Tiramisu is my least favorite. read more

I'm not much of a sweets person, but I've been here twice. Both times were excellent. Following KBBQ next door, my group came here and shared tiramisu, green tea, black sesame, and mango bingsus (how do I even pluralize an anglicized Korean word?), and the cheese tortilla. Nothing was overly sweet. The bingsu was a delightful play of textures and temperatures from cold and creamy, to warmy and chewy, flaky/powdery and luscious. Black sesame bingsu probably my favourite, but I'm inclined to try the rest of their menu to be certain. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and hope that they continue to expand (hopefully a downtown branch to put these complacent bubble tea shops to shame!). read more

Small tiny place with really good bingsoo! I shared the coffee shaved ice with my bf and we both enjoyed it. The snow ice was really soft and kinda creamy, the coffee taste was strong but not overpowering. The ice cream it came with was great and went well with the ice. Only thing that was disappointing was that in the menu it stated that it came with mochi but we didn't get any, instead we got corn flakes and cheerios... kinda a weird combo but it was still good. read more
Wow, this place is amazing! Worth all the raving reviews. My friends and I ordered 4 different bowls and they were all better than the last. The texture of the shaved ice is unlike anything I've ever eaten and the toppings are fresh, high quality and delicious. The fruit themed cups are a tad sweeter than the others. My favourite was the tiramisu and red bean ones. Too bad the place is on the small side and the tables are sticky. Otherwise it's fantastic! read more

It was a hot sunday night and we wanted to get a bowl of bingsoo from here. It was our first time at this place and luckily we got our order in because apparently they were closing soon...even though there was a line up. So ordered at 9:00 pm, got the large coffee bingsoo...this was our third choice by the way. The first and second choice were sold out... (cheese bingsoo, and the strawberry bingsoo) disappointing. We didn't get our bingsoo until 9:35 pm. I thought they forgot our order... I get that there were orders before ours, but it takes way too long to get bingsoo here. They should get a second machine if it means they can bring out the desserts in a timely manner. So tried the coffee bingsoo and I thought it was ok. Too much cereal in my opinion, and a bit too dark/strong in coffee flavour. It tasted something like an iced capp. The large size is huge. We had trouble finishing the large just as a pair/couple. I would recommend getting a small or maybe even the cup sized one. While we were eating our bingsoo, people were still coming in to order, they stopped taking orders...at like 9:40pm. The store technically closes at 11:00pm on a sunday though. read more

Their Injeolmi bingsu is good but I still like they way Soul Cafe layers their condensed milk more. It's a smaller space but good selection of desserts. Also tried the sweet potato latte which I liked but should actually be called a yam latte cause it was purple :D read more

There was a wait for seats, even though they could totally fit in another couple of tables. There was also a wait for the dessert itself, expect around 10 min. We ordered the Tiramisu ice in large (around $13). It was really good, strong coffee flavour bc they give you espresso with it. Also an entire slice of cake with the ice! Shared amongst 3 people after dinner. Even my dad who doesn't usually like sweets liked it! Will be back to try other ice flavours, lattes, and teas :) read more
