Tried binshu for the first time. The way it was describe to me is it's like shaved ice but from ice cream. It's condensed milk with shave it. And you add topings. I tried the melon one. It was refreshing and the melon were fresh. I'm not a big fan in the end, but still good. My girlfriend took mango cheesecake one and she really liked it. There's is also drink and many from current or past scent like ive concert and BTS. I would like to try one of their drink next. As for the size, you can get them in cup or bowl. The bowl are huge, easily shareable by 2 to 4 person. read more

It's a cute cafe in the Spadina strip. We tried the mango bingsu and the beargato which was basically affogato poured on a bear and I am editing this review to add a few things around the taste... So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed. read more

we were looking for dessert after dinner and came across this place for bingsu. we got the seasonal chestnut tiramisu bingsu (which only had the large size), and we also got the small injeolmi bingsu to share between 4 people which was the perfect portion. i really liked the brownie bits in the tiramisu, the bingsu itself isn't too sweet so the brownies added a nice bit of sweetness. the injeolmi one was also pretty good. i really liked the mochi toppings that it came with. the inside of the place is really cute. there are some seats upstairs and more seating downstairs. the downstairs area was decorated with flowers and photocards hanging around, and there's also a photobooth there. we chose to sit upstairs since it was a little dark downstairs. we came around 7pm on a saturday and it wasn't too crowded. you order at the kiosk when you enter and the desserts came out pretty fast. i would definitely come back here to try the other items on their menu, such as their toast and other bingsu flavors. read more

Came here for the bingsu. Opted for the mango and Injeolmi. For a place that was recently opened it has really bad paint job and bad cheaply looking table/chairs. Service was on the slow side. The saving grace was that the bingsu was great. Ambiance was lacking and very underwhelming. Would be great if bingsu came out quicker, furniture and paint job redone/replaced. read more

The atmosphere is so cute and aesthetically pleasing in this location. My friends and I stopped by at night time and one ordered the milk and ice cream dessert and 2 of us ordered mango slushes. The mango slush was disappointing as it wasn't very sweet and just didn't taste very good overall. My friend enjoyed the ice cream and milk dessert. Downstairs they have a photo op area which was cute. I would need to try something else on the menu next time as the mango slush did not hit the spot. Service was decent. read more

This is a cute Korean dessert spot with pretty decor, lots of seating, and friendly staff. Their menu has 빙수/bingsoo, a shave ice dessert, with lots of different flavors. I opted for the Mango Bingsoo and the fresh mango chunks were SO good. It was very flavorful and not too sweet. They also have other Korean foods, including savory snacks, to choose from, so if you aren't in the mood for dessert you should still check them out. They also have various bubble teas and other tea drinks. You can order at the counter to go or grab a table and order using the QR code. I stayed in to eat and waited about 10 minutes for my bingsoo, not too long at all. There are a few more tables in the lower level with Instagrammable decor of (fake) flowers on the walls and ceiling. There's also a separate business, a photobooth/studio, on the lower level. I had a great time here and will return the next time I'm in Toronto to try more snacks! read more

We were craving something sweet, so stopped by this Korean shaved ice store for a treat. We shared a bowl of chestnut tiramisu bingsu and it came high with cocoa powder, chestnuts, whipped cream, and granola. It also comes with a little saucer of espresso for you to drizzle over to enhance the coffee flavors. I also really liked that there were layers of cookies and cornflakes in the Bing Su to keep each by interesting. Very interesting interpretation of the viral culinary class wars dessert. This is a Korean dessert place serving Bingsu and Korean Waffle desserts, Korean Sandwiches, hot/cold drinks. You have to make your order via their online menu. We ordered the Chestnut Tiramisu Bingsu ($21) which is a new menu item as of Nov 2024. There were a few pieces of whole Chestnuts, creamy Mascapone Cheese, and Truffle Chocolate. This dessert was the number 1 selling dessert in Korea in Oct 2024. The dessert was OK. It needed to be creamier. If you write and show them your Yelp review, you get a free Homemade Lemonade ($6). There is a sign saying that their desserts cannot be shared! We didn't notice the sign until after we finished and they didn't enforce it. There are a few tables for indoor dining. There is low-volume easy-listening music playing in the background. There is a Life4Cuts self-serve photo studio downstairs. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. This is a small shop. There's a kiosk right when you enter. There's the option to order from the kiosk and either pay there or at the counter. There are a few food models of bingsu at the counter if you'd like to see what they look like. There weren't many customers in the shop when we were there, so our bingsu didn't take too long to arrive. The staff brings your order to you along with eating utensils. The downside to sharing bingsu with people is that it can get a bit messy with dropping the shaved ice when scooping from the bowl and getting to your mouth. We ordered the injeolmi for 2-3 people with a scoop of ice cream (+$3). There are a variety of toppings that can be added. Lactose-free milk is used here. I found that there was a lack of flavour in the shaved ice. The injeolmi flavour was really only on top, and there were several pieces of rice cake around the edge. Once past the top layer of flavour, it's very plain until the very bottom, where there are some corn flakes to add texture. read more

So the 5 stars is only for the espresso coffee because that's all I got - I saw the open window that you could get a drink from the sidewalk and decided to try it. Only later did I realize it was a full service dessert spot but I just stuck with the coffee. Wow really impressed - very fragrant felt like I was drinking from an old school Italian cafe. And the foam was perfectly stiff - the barista knew his stuff . Will be back for the coffee :) read more

The persimmon flavor is pretty unique as you don't get to see that offered a lot at bingsoo places. I wish there were more "free" toppings that came with the bingsoo besides some corn flakes at the bottom. We think the rule of not being able to share one small bingsoo is weird. The shaved ice came out pretty quickly though and the interior is bright, clean, and pretty with the white and aqua color. I would definitely love to try the snowman bingsoo next time! The server was also kind and threw our trash away for us at the table. read more

Bingsu was pretty good but when ordering we ordered the melon bingsu thinking it was a green melon (the menu showed green melon on the bingsu), however they brought out a cantaloupe bingsu? We were all confused because we weren't expecting something we didn't order but it was still enjoyable. The big main issue about this place is that they forced us to buy a 3rd bingsu? I just thought that was really annoying and it's not like these desserts are cheap either. Overall, I would say this place is alright, but I would never go again. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with some friends because it was one of the only dessert spots near us opened til late night. It is a small space with 4-5 tables seating 4-6 people each, and also some bar seats. We went to the counter to order but there were tablets at most tables that looked like you can order from as well (not sure because our table did not have a tablet). We got 2 bingsu cups (blueberry and mango cheesecake) and a beef galbi toast. My friend liked the bingsu because they have toppings on the top and bottom - top and bottom had the flavour you ordered and bottom has some cereal bits as well which gives it a nice crunch. Saw this place on Tiktok and had to try it! This was the first Korean bingsu place I have heard of in core downtown with milk based shaved ice - everything else in downtown has usually been water based. I liked the cafe style of the place - it felt lively while still calm. The bingsu was really tasty and is actually lactose free if you are ever concerned! The shaved ice tastes a bit like it's soy milk base but not 100% sure. The fruit was fresh and went perfectly with the bingsu! I would recommend getting any of the cheesecake ones because it adds a nice tartness that balances it out well. Lastly, the service was not the best so I had to dock it a star - the person taking orders seemed extremely disinterested in her job and was very pushy in terms of getting the order in ASAP. read more

This is a new Korean Bingsu (shaved ice) place that also serves Korean style toast. Got the bibimbap (mixed fruit) shaved ice for $19.99. There is a fake egg on top that doesn't really taste like anything. Pros: + Shaved ice is fluffy and sweet. Lactose free. Definitely prefer this texture to other places. + Aesthetic. + Fruit is fresh. + The size is massive. It's definitely enough to feed 4 people! The bibimbap is the largest size, followed by the other bowl and then the cups. To be honest, I think a cup would be more than enough for 2 people. Cons: - Store has a bit of a weird layout. Me and my friend ordered the strawberry bingsu last time and it was really good!!! Came back for a second time and it was cuter than last time!!! Nice bingsu spot - the homemade mochi is a real draw as well as persimmons! Service is fast, however please note that they require dine in to order one cup per person unless you do a bowl to share between two. I did takeout and had no problems! Got - Old Skool - Caramel Apple Pie I liked the crispy apple bits on the Caramel Apple Pie. Unlike other cinnamon-apple sweets which tend to use tender cooked cinnamon apple pieces, the topping was crunchy, crisp, juicy apple with perfectly sticky caramel coating. Great texture and goes well with cinnamon flavored bun. The cinnamon bun itself was not my favorite, the texture was a bit mushier and soggier than the famous Cinnabon's. BUT. The buns satisficed my sweet cravings after drinking. Appreciated the crisp caramel apple's texture for refreshing pleasure.

Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It was pricey at $10, but honestly one of the best I've ever had. They instruct you to sip the foam first before mixing, and the flavours were bold with just the right amount of sweetness. The service was incredible. They actually brought my drink over, which I wasn't expecting, and when we were done they came by with water and cleared our empty cups. Such a pleasant surprise! All in all, highly recommend this spot. I would come by all the time if I lived nearby.
