I heard that this was a must have when traveling to Toronto. BeaverTails did not disappoint. I went straight for the BeaverTails, although they do offer other delicious options. We ordered the Bananarama and Coco Vanil. They are both awesome, although if I could only choose one, I'd go with Bananarama. It was amazing. I'll be coming back for more in the days to come. The service was fantastic. The individual that helped me was very nice. She had several recommendations. There is a nice patio to enjoy your treat, along with the views. I'm so glad I FINALLY got to try Beaver Tails when I came up to Toronto. I remember seeing it from an old Cartoon Network show (Anyone else remember "Stoked") and I knew I just had to try it when I finally got up here. I got the Avalanche (Skor,Cheesecake, and Caramel) and I loved that they stretched the dough when we ordered and then start frying it right there. It really ensures that we get freshly fried Beaver Tails at the peak of their deliciousness. After I got mine slathered with the toppings I ordered, I dug in and as expected, it's really hot but SOOOOO good. It's like the concept of a donut only thinner and crispier, thus resulting in a much better texture and crunch throughout which I very much prefer over a donut actually. The cheesecake spread mingling with the sweet caramel, crunchy toffee bits, and crispy hot dough is just such a perfect combination. It's a bit of a mess to eat but sooooo worth it. It really is such a shame that there isn't an establishment like this in NYC because it could seriously do some REALLY good numbers over here I reckon. BeaverTails was on my Canada itinerary before I even landed. Ordered the Killaloe Sunrise on the cashier's recommendation and walked away a little underwhelmed. It was fine, but it tasted like a grown up, overpriced version of the Cinnamon Crispas I used to get at Taco Bell as a kid in the 80s. Nostalgia is nice, but not at that price point. Apart from the glorious poutine, this was the other Canadian food to try according to my quick non-scientific research. The smells walking into the place were intoxicating and had me salivating. Groups of families and tourists made up most of the guests. I ordered the MehPle, and my friend went with the BrWownie. The wait was about 10 minutes. The cabin-like interior and its open air design helped us cool down with the ocean breeze coming in. The MehPle was incredibly crispy, sweet, and gooey, a hot and oily pastry, and a familiar kind of snack like those found at a county fair. I don't care if BeaverTails is a tourist spot because I love the Killaloe Sunrise and get it every time I'm in Canada and nearby a BeaverTails store. Killaloe Sunrise is a fried flat dough pastry dusted with cinnamon sugar and a lemon wedge for you to squeeze the juice onto the treat. Essentially it's a big, flat churro. BeaverTails, a staple food you have to try when you're in Canada. The bread they use as a base is actually a native Indian fry bread, then they add all kinds of diabetes on top haha. This is the part where it gets fun because it can fast as sweet or simple as you want it to be. They have loads of flavors to choose from. You can even add a variety of Ice cream flavors to them! We have tried the bananarama with and without Ice cream, as well as the avalanche and the triple trip. I happen to love peanut butter so my favorite was the Tripple trip, and my fiancés was the bananarama. He enjoyed his bananarama more with ice cream but he said it's a huge sugar rush so he won't get it with ice cream every single time because it can be a bit too much haha. This morning I attended a Holiday Cheer Event at Beavertails; I was at this location's Grand Opening day in March 2016 when they offered free boat tours of the Inner Harbour (see 2nd pic. below). For the Event there was a choice between 2 comp. Beavertails (The Classic, Hazel Amour) as well as hot chocolate - also comp. - on offer. I chose the latter Beavertail choice and was very pleased; it was warm and fairly crunchy with great flavour. The venue is fairly small with limited seating: one table at the front and a few more in the back; their 2nd floor is not available to Customers. Service was very prompt and friendly and the venue appeared immaculately clean throughout. As a visitor to Toronto I wanted to try something local and fun to eat. I had seen a couple of these stands elsewhere so when we went to the nearby aquarium I quickly got in line to try their fried dough speciality. I ordered the "Avalanche" which came with cheesecake spread, Skor candy bar bits, and caramel sauce. I had expected it to be puffy like a fried dough but instead found it was flat, sort of like a donut that got stepped on. While eating it I noticed something was wrong... something was missing. It turns out that every last Skor piece I had on mine was only toffee- there wasn't a single bit of chocolate on it. It was still good, but it didn't match the picture or my expectations. Came to try their flight of 6 mini beavertails but was informed that the dough was being prepped and it would take 45 mins. However, she also let us know we can do half-half flavour on 1 beavertail and that is exactly what we did (she also said it would be cheaper than the flight but i guess it depends which flavours you get). We chose half pistachio and half mud pie flavour (a limited time summer special i think). It's been so long since I've had a beavertail and i love how light and airy the dough is. I was walking towards Eaton Center on 06 November 2022 and noticed a few different events happening at Dundas Square. My curiosity took ahold of me and I crossed the street, only to find a few different activities promoting Canada's involvement in the upcoming FIFA World Cup (2022). Amongst the different activities, there was a BeaverTails pop-up shop, which was giving away FREE beavertails -- however many you wanted. Feeling slightly peckish, I ended up getting their banana chocolate beavertail as it was a flavour I hadn't tried before. The dough was nicely fried, having the crispy but chewy texture to it, and the bananas seemed quite fresh.
