Meat Lover on Waygu sausage and okonomiyaki hotdog with fries, matcha ice cream and yuzu matcha lemonade
Elaine W.

So good! Same as the Vancouver restaurants this second Toronto location just soft opened this week. Official opening is tomorrow April 4th I think. Delicious hotdogs with interesting toppings. The ice cream is on a fried bun that tastes like a donut. Everything was sooooo good! Service was quick and I think there will be a self serve kiosk in the future as well. Prices for hotdogs are around $7-9 so definitely more than Costco or a hotdog stand but for all the toppings it's worth it!

Went to the grand opening on Saturday afternoon. All of the hot dogs were 50 percent off. The place was busy with a lineup. I ordered the yakisoba hot dog. It had yakisoba noodles and sauce place on top of the dog. It was garnished with pickled ginger. I was a bit disappointed at the hotdog it was small and a bit salty. I suggest going with a different flavor. I tried the different ones in Vancouver and it was better.

Was not too impressed with the dog and didn't know what the hype was about. Toppings were different but not worth the $12+ for the order.

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

Nando's Peri-Peri - Half chicken and house-made lemonade

I happen to be in Toronto and to my surprise--there it was. Nando's…read more This infamous Nando's I've heard UK folks sing praises about for years. Cult-level hype. I couldn't let the opportunity pass. The dining space? Bright, clean, inviting. Modern but casual. Off to a genuinely good start. And then... things went south. I ordered the peri-peri chicken with two sides. The wait was excruciating. Not just long--confusing. Every single person who ordered after me was eating while I sat there wondering if my ticket got lost in another country. When the chicken finally arrived, I was stunned--and not in a good way. Easily the smallest leg/thigh combo I've ever seen. Yes, I'm used to USA-sized, GMO-filled chickens, but I've eaten plenty overseas. This wasn't "European portioning." This was kiddie-sized. Flavor? Underwhelming. Forgettable. Nothing that made me pause, nothing that lingered. For a place built on peri-peri heat and personality, this was shockingly flat. I can get chicken with more punch at my local Grocery & Go. The mac and cheese had decent texture--the breadcrumbs did their job--but flavor-wise? Completely bland. Zero soul. The fries? Although well seasoned, we're like warm. Overhyped things rarely deliver, and Nando's sadly fits the bill. Massive disappointment is the phrase that keeps coming to mind

Hard to find a place these days that checks all the boxes -- healthy, affordable, and good service…read more-- but this Nando's pulls it off. The food is solid (grilled chicken, not greasy junk), the prices are surprisingly fair for downtown, and the staff actually seem like they care.

This location is a full restaurant with plenty of indoor seating. There is easy-listening music playing in the background. I ordered the following: 1. Signature Poutine with Beef ($9.99). 2. Plum Cold Brew ($3.99). I've never had the Poutine before. It was good. I've had the Plum Cold Brew before and it was like I remembered. This restaurant chain introduced the "Chinese Hamburger" in a crispy bun to Toronto back in 2021-05-23 (soft opening). Very tasty indeed! Plus, they have a wide variety of appetizers. The two owners are from China. The brand was founded in Beijing on 2014-04-08 and now has over 65 locations in Beijing. The Chinese Hamburger is called Rou Jia Mo (肉夹馍) in Chinese, which literally translates to "meat in a bun". It is the cuisine of China's Shaanxi province, which has the capital city of Xi'An (or Xian), where you find the terracotta warriors. For Chinese hamburgers, there are two types of buns: crispy and non-crispy. Most restaurants use the non-crispy buns but Bingz is the only restaurant in the GTA that uses the baked crispy buns. There is free WiFi. The restaurant wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washrooms, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-244
